Lisa is generally considered better from a story point, Undertale's simple bullet hell mechanics might be considered more fun from a gameplay standpoint.

Undertale has a wacky tumblr humor story that goes dark with light bullet hell gameplay and lots of walking around. Lisa has a wacky adult swim humor story that goes dark with a fairly unique turn based RPG system and lots of walking around. Both have really good music.

the story and characters are great but the gameplay itself is shit

I had more fun with Lisa, the story was more interesting for me, combat felt more fun, hard mode made the game really intense at some points and the humor resonated better with me.
Undertale is really basic as an RPG and the "Bullet Hell" did nothing for me since I'm used to playing shmups, so it was pretty boring in that sense, story was alright, the OST is really well done and most of the characters are likeable.

I love Mogeko's Artstyle, Wadanohara was full of great looking characters, it could do with a little bit less walking tho.

They are both great but I consider LISA better. Undertale is very light hearted and cheesy (this isn't a bad thing). LISA is a unique beast, it's overall very dark but it switches from funny, to weird, to sad in a heartbeat. Undertales gameplay is a fun SHMUP, LISA has a very standard JRPG system based completely on Earthbounds. If I were to rate them I'd say Undertale is a 8/10 and LISA is a 9/10.

Lisa would have been 10/10 if he had flashed out the wrestling systembfor the combat instead of just being a mostly standard jrpg system. That was the best thing Undertale did was sidestep boring jrpg combat.

Lisa is a bit of a curve-ball but it hits a lot harder in my opinion and the music is like nothing you've ever heard before

When the dev was shilling here years ago he insisted they were 100% necessary to the plot even though Anons edited his sprites to prove that they looked 5x better with normal noses.

I think he implied that the purple nosed guy is some sort of nose wizard or something, like that one episode of Billy and Mandy with the nasal mancer.

Either way, it's gonna probably be shit because the special attack mini-games look too slow paced to be fun.

Undertale's a nice for all ages adventure with fun characters and upbeat humour. Lisa has blacker humour and the story gets really dark, with addiction and rape and all that nonsense. So basically do you wanna feel good about something and maybe laugh a little, or laugh and feel like shit?

Both have good music. I prefer Lisa, myself.

They're both trash games made by trash people. I can at least have respect for Toby Fox since majority of Undertale seemed like just copying over story beats and elements that worked for Homestuck in order to get the rabid retard fanbase to make money, and I can always get behind exploiting retards. LISA was clearly Austin's vision, and the story is so self flagellating and bleeding heart.

I don't think anyone (anyone who actually cares, anyways) can seriously blame Dingaling for the shit he said, his dad's death hit him like a fucking train.

It's not shit, it's just... average. It's an extremely basic RPG, but a lot of the "famous" turn-based RPGs are really basic.
That being said, especially back then, an RPG with a "modern" setting adds a lot, especially when even now, most RPGs are the same old generic high-fantasy bullshit with zero originality whatsoever.

Why are Terry and Lincoln the same?

Lisa should make you earnestly angry by the end of the story, to the point where you just want to pace and put holes in walls from sheer frustration

Undertale climbs up to that point, then lets go of everything satisfying to the point where the climactic moment feels worthless in both main routes

Interesting little thing about Lisa. If you fullscreen it on a CRT monitor it actually has subtle scanlines due to the low resolution used.

scanlines are only visible at low resolutions. at 1600x1200 you wont see any at all. undertale doesn't do this either.

Lisa is better, but unless you are a child or unemployed you should get both.

I'm not entirely sure which is better, but Undertale gave me a feels trip after it went Meta when I tried to reload a save after killing a character.

That got me more invested in the story, which thankfully doesn't get it's head too far up its own ass and has some decent humor in it.

Bullet hell is also awesome, even if it is light.

Overall, I enjoyed it enough to buy it. And I don't buy many games.

They aren't really comparable.
Undertale is a bullethell (Not a lot of hell to be honest) with lots of dialogue and a shonen tier plot, theres power of friendship and destroying the world and stuff like that. The music is nice but I didn't like the wacky references, way too many of them. The humour didn't click for me either.
LISA is an RPG without much depth but it has 30 different party members and most of them are pretty cool, also stacking debuffs is a huge part of the combat wich I found fun. The plot is complete suffering and stoicism, your party members can die permanently and bad things may happen to you if you sleep in the open. I liked it a lot, had mixed feelings about Joyful but it does have it's moments. Theres humour in LISA too but it's much more dark.
Overall I liked LISA more, I found Undertale kinda gay but it's not bad either, just gay.
