don't start Elma's post-game affinity quest before grinding late game stuff, initiating a major party side quest in XCX locks out all the other one and I got stuck on this one for hours

also have google handy, because some quests tell you to collect and item and it'll say "in (one of the continents) which are fuck huge and have different items spawn areas

Focus on mechanic skill since it helps with later probes. Because you are forced to use Elma and Lin in the story parts try to switch around the characters to get more affinity with them. Outside that just enjoy it. Its an amazing game that feel needs more love.

Anticipate literally nothing from the main story and do sidequests for fun stories.

Hey let's build a while mechanic on elemental weapons. Sounds great. Now let's limit then based on a gacha system that no one will like and piss everyone off! And X is still better with shit like targeting body parts to break them. And I enjoyed the Soul Voice. XC2 just added an elemental combo which is nice but it's really only useful on long fights and I just don't really enjoy those.

What to do in postgame ? I'm currently just grinding every titan to dev5 and getting all shop deeds, I guess I'll max affinity charts for my blades afterwards and try the superbosses. Kinda wish there was a checklist or a way to see what I've done/need to do in each titan

Sure, at least it's fast and ridiculous. Arts are all the same to me on XB2 because the bonus damage from enemy type or positional is irrelevant when compared to the damage from chain attacks. The combat isn't the best part in any of these games.

I kind of like the way they did there.

Most "modern" games have a weird design where they make sure that the player get almost all content of the game in one play through. Heck, I cannot think of any big "optional" content in modern game anymore.

This one doesn't fear to lock the player out of the optional scenario. Many people might not like it but I feel nostalgic with this type of game.

It's the same issue people have with BotW giving you a golden shit for being an autist completionist.

I don't dislike the basic idea behind it, but I do wish it was easier to target blades by role. That and just don't make dumping common cores so damn tedious.

People like control in their game. Gacha would be fine if there was some level of control over what type of Blade you were getting. Say you want a fire axe. How many chores will you waste just to get that? It's just a extremely tedious system that offer nothing good to the player. It's not really about getting everything the game has. It's about forcing the player to play in away they might not want to because of unlucky rolls.

The point is to adapt and play around the team you get, making every playthrough different. When you play a pokemon randomiser you're not supposed to reset until you get a team of legendaries on your first route.

This is only my opinion, but I think the reason they locked everything behind gacha shit because of the internet. They cannot make a hidden quest / hidden place for blade. So the only way to do it is force RNG.

Beside, if you don't look up on the internet about what blades include in this game, you wouldn't so piss off when you don't get what you want.

I understand this is not everyone cup of tea, but I think this is why some people said that this game is "comfy" to play. There is no "optimal route" or "optional quest checklist" to do.
