Dark Souls 1 vs Dark Souls 2

I suck at DS1. I had to be lvl 66 to reach New Londo Ruins with a Black Knight Sword and Ornstein's armor set.

I read that DS2 prevents you from grinding levels since mobs simply stop respawning after a while.

Am I fucked, then?

Nah, DS2 is much easier.

Don't bother playing Dark Souls 2. It's bad.

What's wrong with it?

Reviews are pretty good.

If you wanna grind mobs only stop respawning after the seventh time you killed him so it should be enough

DS2 is far easier than DS1. There aren't any OP bosses compared to DS1, but some of them are fairly tough and you most likely will die a couple of times. Some enemies are tough as well. By the way, light the windmill. ;)

No it's way easier that way since you can just kill badly placed enemies until they don't respawn anymore. This makes any area trivial with a little patience, and you'll get a decent amount of grinding out of it. How are you with bosses? That's what really matters. Many are easy in this game but there are some tricky ones.

>How are you with bosses?
So-so.

Gotta remember that I got lucky with a Black Knight Sword, though + I like to grind. So once I learn to avoid the most serious of attacks, I can usually make quick work of the boss.

Capra Demon was actually of the easier bosses for me on account of his low HP + my high stamina+armor.

I doubt I've died more than 10 times to a boss.

Hardest boss fight was probably Ornstein and Smough (I'm not done with DS1 yet though).

i’ve played through all of dark souls 1 by myself and started dark souls 2 scholar of the first sin , and i seriously had a harder time in the forest of fallen giants than in any fucking DS1 area
i’ve eventually reached the lost bastille and am taking a big break from the game. Will it stop feeling like a slow, sluggier, worse-in-every-way version of DS1 at some point?
i really don’t get how people say it’s easier than DS1

is that boss hard if you don't light the windmill? I've never fought her without lighting it myself

>mobs simply stop respawning after a while

OMG

its not bad, stop listennig to these faggots saying "its a bad game". Its not, its really good, DS1 and DS3 simply have better world design.

you can respawn enemies with a consumable item and you can always pop a boss soul to get extra XP.
Farming is also unnecessary in this game.

DS2 has really bad and really good bosses.
other ds games just have better pacing

If you dont burn the windmill the boss arena is filled with poison that heals her so yeah it makes it pretty hard.

>Ornstein's armor

Moron detected.

Dark set is 1000000x better.

>Reviews are pretty good.
Reviews for Fallout 3 are also pretty good.

AAA games have to really fuck up to get bad reviews.

You can join a covenant ( champion, stone thingy on the edge of Majula) that makes enemies respawn, it's the best one by far, with no real drawbacks. Don't ever change covenants in this playthrough though, otherwise champion blades will randomly appear and make your life a living hell.

>Will it stop feeling like a slow, sluggier, worse-in-every-way version of DS1 at some point?
level up the agility stat. It gets better, but the game will be always slower

DaS1 noob here. I want to run a bow build ever since I found out you can aim with it. Am I fucked?

ahh yeah, that'll do it

DS2 is really good, its just a different type of game

It also has a view more bullshit bosses. There are like 3 cool hard bosses, a shit ton of easy ones, and a couple bullshits.

The DLC is by far the best part of the game. Especially Sunken King. I wish they'd make a whole game with that style of environmental puzzles and dungeon crawling. The base game is a mess with mostly forgettable areas and bosses but then a few standout moments.

I dunno OP, on my playthrough I purposely killed every enemy until they stopped respawning, in every area of the game because I thought it would be a funny meme, and I ended up horrendously overlevelled.

Just join covenant of champions. Mobs are a little tougher but they respawns infinitely.

>DS2 is easier
Really? Sir Allone is harder than all the bosses in DS1 combined. Not even Gwyn is as aggressive as Alonne. Alonne LITERALLY doesn't even give you time to cast spells. This thread is a good indicator why you should never-ever listen to Sup Forums. People going into DS2 and expecting it to be easier than DS1 are going to get destroyed. In fact, the main reason vtards cry so much about DS2 is because they cannot deal with the encounter design that forces you to fight multiple enemies at once most of the time.
