I've been looking at it and it seems interesting.

Bump

Combat is disappointingly simple and easy to figure out and it sticks pretty hard to the Bioware Formula but other than that it's solid. I really liked the setting and the plot and characters, while very typical for a Bioware game, do JUST enough differently to stay interesting. Open Palm vs. Closed Fist is an interesting philosophical take on light side vs. dark side but it's more effective on paper than in execution.

Really really fun after you get the hang of combat.
At first the combat feels weird.

You can also have a threesome with two cute girls.
The story is pretty decent as well.

It's great

Can you explain the combat a bit more?

story is bretty gud
combat is kind of lacking, but there's a mod out there that sort of fixes it and adds lots of styles, play on hard mode so you have more incentive to switch styles a lot and stuff
music is fun

setting is unique

give it a try!

Hit the enemy three times, backdash, get close hit three times.

Rinse and repeat.

The combat in the game is just so fucking bad. Just have to wonder how the style got through testing...

It's pretty damn great. You'll love it.

It's an action rpg/beat em up sort of deal, with the idea that you can freely switch between a bunch of different styles of kung fu that would give you access to different attacks and would be useful in different situations. Fist fighting, weapons, elemental magic stuff, etc. It sounds cool but in practice some styles are just miles better than others and you rarely have any incentive to swap between them, especially on lower difficulties. Also you can have a follower but they don't really do anything, they either just sort of occasionally help out in fights or you can have them meditate and give you buffs. Either way you only control one character.

Classic Bioware game. You know what to expect it.

If you've played KotOR and Dragon Age 1, then you know exactly what to expect. It's the same style of game, but set in ancient fantasy China with martial arts instead of force powers. It's pretty good, too.

Interdasting
So how good is the story? Without spoilers please.

>claim to have this totally not black and white morality system based on asian philosophy
>it's actually just another obviously good vs obviously evil choice

the only good thing about jade empire is you can have a threesome with cousins.

You're the chosen one, plot twist on who the bad guy is. Standard KotOR era Bioware with a chinese coat of paint.

If you've played any other Bioware game you already know the story.

I actually liked the story, be it pretty predictable.

Side quests were good too, especially the one with the westerner.

I'd recommend it, at least a 7,5. Would be a 8,5 if the combat wasn't so bad.

Oh boy.
Well fuck it, might as well try it out, I enjoy classic bioware games. KOTOR 2 is my favorite game of all time anyway.

>KOTOR 2
>bioware game

Oh fug I goofed
Well KOTOR 1 is also one of my favorite games.

Reminder that Crimson Tears is the most broken shit.

it's pretty fun, got 40 hours out of it doing the good and evil route.
the combat has more depth than it seems, but it's still pretty simple and easy to get into, though there isn't much challenge once you understand how harmonic combo's work.

If you want to be OP you have to be careful about which stances you put points in, personally i'd recommend:
Leaping Tiger, fast+good damage+the combo moves you forward
Storm Dragon, for Harmonic Combo's
Horse Demon, he has a really strong ranged attack
Make sure you utilize the slow motion to create openings to combo the enemy and the cuhrazy dodge-over-enemy and it's GG

Someone post the bioware comparison chart.
