I commend the other DPS every time if they manage to do at least as much damage as me, or close to that. This game is baby's first tank game so if the dps is shit and the healer tried doing some damage and didn't cause wipes, I go to the healer next.

I subbed monthly from arr to heavensward release, saw the pattern and then decided to sub every 3-5 months or so and i feel great about it. The game is built so you can catch up easily when you come back. Unless you're really into doing the current raid tiers i recommend doing the same.

With all the fucking dungeons in the game it's amazing how you end up running the same 5 or 6 dungeons to cap.

Haven't subbed since 4.0 and was thinking of resubbing and I wanted to know if I should? I mostly quit due to basically being alone and it being so quiet where I played that if I do resub I plan on server transferring and hope that things turn out better.

You switch to Umbral ice (using blizzard III ideally)

While you regain your mana you have the chance to either reapply dots (prioritize this on your brief cooldown mana regen phase) and/or cast Blizz IV for umbral hearts

I only commend if the healer is 1.5k+ dps, or if the dps does 4k+. Not hard metrics to beat but it happens maybe 10% of the time. Commend tank if he does non-pussy pulls when I'm healing and I see good cds. 100% commend if a tank actually fucking uses their HG/LD for once.

A) You want Content that keeps you alert? Why almost no one cleared Ultimate
B) Why add Overworld content people just use Duty Finder to do stuff anyways

nobody talks in vanilla wow dungeons either because they're all tank and spank fights or have barebones mechanics like a simple dps check or interrupt the boss before he does thing.

How do I gear up a fresh 70 gatherer? Don't tell me I have to fucking grind yellow scrips 30 at a time again.

But that's wrong, at least as far as my anecdotal experience in actual vanilla and on Nostalrius when it was alive says.
Talking about where the party is going, what quests everyone is doing, what loot is being sought, how trash was going to be dealt with by each member, and yes the boss strategy because there were often multiple (ie taking Archaedas up the entire ramp or doing a hectic fight in his chamber). All that shit is just inside a dungeon.

It's just not the traditional MMO experience I'm after, it feels more like the stuff that made me quit Cataclysm.

Will we ever get """fun""" dungeons like aurum again? I haven't had quite that experience since then in all the other dungeons.

yeah mate i dont know how new you mean when you say "m new" but look at what Umbral and Astral

you have no mana regen in Astral but fire spells do a fuckton more damage, in Umbral, you do lss damage but regen mana fast as fuck

so the basic gestalt is, apply dot, cast fire 3 to activate Astral 3, burn all your mana on blowing shit up as hard as possible with fire spells (while also hitting your free procs, because they are free damage), and then when you run out of mana, you cast blizzard 3 to switch to Umbral 3, and reapply dots/ build up umbral hearts while your mana regenerates, then you go back to Astral and repeat

No now enjoy your fucking hallway with a boss that becomes immune to damage for a 20 second AOE that deals no damage retard

It's not like the queue is popping for Diamond/Platinum players this into the season anyway. I get maybe 5 pops during prime time and it's almost always with some shit for brains WAR as my tank who might as well stay in the spawn.

It's not like there's anything else to do in the game, OP. FFXIV is just another themepark MMORPG front-loaded with so many "quality of life" cancer features that players have no reason to actually interact with each other.

If you want a more social and rewarding online multiplayer experience, go play SS13 or something. FFXIV is just a grind simulator for people who want to make numbers go up.

I don't think they're necessarily bad, they've just completely abandoned the audience that gave rise to MMORPGs in the first place and changed their structure to appeal more towards casual players who just enjoy the vanity of collecting gear and participating in content that was previously reserved for only dedicated players. Something lost, something gained.

You can't really please both parties. Only option is to play one of the few 'hardcore' mmorpg offerings out today like Albion or EVE. Too bad they're both kind of boring.

Albion looked like it had it's share of problems and really suspicious shit that happened a few months ago, and I was never into Si-Fi anything so EVE never appealed to me but that's a problem with me and not the game. Everytime something that looks good comes out (BDO, Archeage) something happens during development and it ends up being shit.

I was running Stone Vigil as a WHM once and on the third or so pull I noticed I was hearing Blizzard 3 A LOT with zero Fire 2s. Are you joking? BLM requires so much more thought than the average player is willing or able to dedicate, getting one in your party that DOESN'T perform like shit is a fucking godsend. You only have to look at the major discrepancies between each percentile on fights

a BLM is one of the worst jobs to get in your party. Unless they're a fucking god, they're much more likely than any other job to blow absolute balls at.
