What went wrong?

So much fucking cutscenes but only 5 hours of gameplay, its like a Metal Gear game but without the entertaining shit! Also level design and enemy variety is horrible.

>7 hour game
>3.5 hours are cutscenes
>mostly pro-communist
>marketers went full SJW

I don't know.

>make story driven game
>don't hire respectable people with actual visions to direct and write these games
how come i can name several japanese directors but struggle to name 1 western director?

It bombed as hard as the Trump presidency.

only steam sales?

Tries to hard. Forgets what makes wolfenstein well... wolfenstein.

Here's the best I can find for xbox one and ps4

So, in total, about 1.1 million across all systems. We'd need to know what the budget is before making any judgement on the returns

Bethesda released a lot of games this year, i can't imagine they expected all of them to make Fallout money
and they did reuse the Doom engine for Wolf2

After TNO, which sold a good deal more than that on PC alone, they probably will head back to the drawing board.

all things considered, they probably would have been better off if Wolf2 released this year
does anyone even know what they're doing in 2018?

In my opinion, based on my experience with the game and what I've seen:
1. Mainly, gameplay-wise it was a step down from The New Order:
- The hardest difficulty was poorly balanced, playing like a CoD game where you're forced to take cover all the time
-Schizophrenic difficulty (a level is a breeze, the next is the hellish dream sequence one)
- Ruined the Laserkraftwerk, turning it into a poor's man Quake 2 railgun
- No boss battles.
- No incentive to use any weapon besides the assault rifles and the silenced pistol
- It felt shorter than The New Order.
- The Obercommander missions were just padding using the campaign levels and very uninteresting padding.
- BJ's new abilites are only used for the last half of the game.
2. The PC version was one the worst ports I've seen in recent history.
3. Minor annoyances: cutscenes were too long, too many unlikeable characters
Also, apparently the DLC is shitty too. No idea about it.
4. 2017 was a year packed with many releases from all the corners of the gaming spectrum; from Assassins Creed Origins to Cuphead, from Nier Automata to Mass Effect Andromeda; it even saw the release of a new console.

Do you know what has me really butthurt? Of the two big 2017 Bethesda releases, I wish they had focused the marketing on Prey instead of Wolfenstein II. Prey deserved to sell better.

Sup Forums please. The game is mediocre on its own; you don't need to lie this time.

>FUCK DRUMPF, AND FUCK WYPIPO: The Game

gee I wonder what went wrong

>5 picoseconds of gameplay
>200 eons of cutscenes

Way too short. Anyone play the DLC's? Just finished this and had heaps of fun but then out of the but it just fucking ended!

true. I think their core message wasn't strong enough. They really needed to ramp up the delivery. Really get to the heart of what this game is trying to say.

I really liked it, compared to the new order the gameplay was a big improvement.

I liked all the sassy, woke minorities.

I didn't lie. Lirik beat the game in 7 hours playing on the second hardest difficulty. You know, a streamer who is constantly reading out subs/donations.

took me 9 hours on call me terror billy, I skipped all the side missions though, the new order took me 10.

>I watched a stream
Now we can completely ignore your opinions with any shred of doubt.

>"Fucking Bethesda SWJ shill!"
I would tell you to eat shit even if you were praising my favorite game. Watching is not playing.

While Steam says my played time is 26 hours (finished it on Terror Billy too, only played like six Obercommander missions and ignored all the side missions), it took me that much because I died all the time. Maybe it was 11-12 hours at most.
My The New Order playtime is 30 hours (maximum difficulty available, don't remember the exact name) so probably it's the same for both of us.
