I played many games, but the AI is always disappointing. I want something with actually good AI. something hard. Most of these games are arcadey and rather easy.

Well there's the patrician series, a Venetian trading sim. Can't vouch for it though.
There's also stuff like EU4 and Crusader Kings. While you can focus more on economics as certain powers, it isn't really the focus of those titles.

I never really liked EU series in general. Victoria 2 is just far superior.

Boring. Its a nice idea but every multiplayer is basically the same and once you learn the meta its the same rinse and repeat to win match, with a tiny bit of luck thrown in.
