Killed kotor 3
Because of kotor 3 not happening, the story was forced to explain that revan and exile were wimps, and kreia a schizo old woman
Fuck that game

>made the exile female when it was clearly intended to be male by the developers

Animations were pretty shit.

Literally chose one of the worst engines possible. Then proceeded to ignore legit criticisms and even closing threads and banning people for pointing them out. Then made an arrogant decision to open a fuckton of servers on launch and not think that a good chunk of players wouldn't actually stick around.

Game did PLENTY wrong.
It's okay nowadays.

The cinematic trailers are the only good thing about this game.

Is the game any good?

>is there pvp
>is there endgame
>is it P2W, and if so to what degree

Replaying kotor and realized a multiplayer kotor would be awesome but i know this game launched poorly, but i mean so did FFXIV

There is pvp
There is endgame
It is slightly PTW because of E.A and Bioware, but you only have to pay like 30 dollars once for a 60 day subscription and that's plenty of time to finish all the story missions and expansions.
There is also lootboxes in the game but it's only cosmetic items
It looks like total trash though.

This game is heavily oriented on the story, I think pve and pvp elements are basically an afterthought.

This is true but beating the face in of those newfag acolytes on Korriban in front of the temple doors is fun every single time.

>It is slightly PTW

Uh, elaborate?

Basically F2P players can only hold so much money at any given time and they have a timelocked sprint and they don't get mounts until a later level. It's not like paying makes you more powerful but it does make the game a whole lot easier. Especially at the end when you'll want to have millions of credits to throw away on cosmetic items from the Galactic Market.

>removes the unsubscribe button and warns people for providing a link to the unsubscribe page

Also F2P players don't have access to the expansions which means they can't reach max level.

Huh, okay, a sub i can deal with if its so necessary

Anything else like that?

Also is there like, challenging content?

Also i was told that you need to be subbed to PvP, is that also true?

Nothing else really comes to mind. The content isn't challenging at all when you set your companion to heal. Basically your health will never, EVER drop below 50%.

I don't know about the sub to PvP though since I've only ever played subscribed.

Those that subscribe get more inventory space, unlimited funds, not limited to 2 characters, the expansions, lower level mounts, decreased sprint time etc. Nothing that makes it game breaking, or gives you a clear edge in encounters but quality of life stuff.

The rest BioWare has done is gone all in on their cartel market which is mostly cosmetic. A few crystals float on the market but those are about stat wise the same as ones you can craft

To be honest with Bioware's track record as of late, would you even want a KOTOR3? It probably would of been shit.

It's not exactly P2W.
In order to access the end game gearing you need to sub. Only subs get access to the Galactic Commands which gives you loot chests once you reach a new level(there are 300 levels to it and you still gain chest after reaching 300). You also need to sub to have access to raids and pvp(you can do like 5 warzones a week as F2P but unlimited if subbed). If you unsub you can no longer gain Command levels and so no new gear.
You also cannot wear purple or better items if you aren't subbed or haven't used the Cartel Market item to unlock it for your account.

All in all it's an okay game if you subscribe and you can definitely waste a few hundred hours on it. They absolutely nailed the voice acting for your class heroes. Especially the Sith Empire.

>kreia a schizo old woman
that glowing red npc in the warrior storyline? even I don't believe that shit. None of the wikis mention it either. Kreia is nothing more than a codex entry in swtor. Old news dismissed long ago.

what I'm thinking is what are they going to do with the game once it's permanently finished and over and shut down? I played the game unironically quite a bit back in the day, I've maxed out all the storylines and shit. I don't think the game will be closed the way most mmos are, because of all the voice acting work put into it.

I think you can play a few games of pvp on f2p every day. If a subscriber is leading the party you're in, you can do an unlimited number games.

Okay, i see people posting like.. crews on the general? Legacy? What is this? Like a crew/family of your own characters or what even is all that about?

You can make a family tree on your Legacy name but iirc that's for roleplaying purposes only.

>Used an incomplete engine
>Spent $200-300 million on voice acting
>Copied WoW gameplay but made it worse
>Fucked up simple shit like /dance emote stopping enemy attacks
>Implented "Dance zones"
>Removed unsubscribe link as first month was about to end
>Warned people for providing links to the unsubscribe page
>Banned people for buying low, selling high
>Banned people for entering other zones to open chests
>Banned people for PvPing on a PvP server
>Banned someone for typing "I'm 12 and what is this"
>Destroyed all hopes of a KOTOR 3
>On-Rails space shooting
>Sent emails to people "from" their NPC followers begging them to return
Did nothing wrong.

You can't equip purple epic items as f2p. Not that you need them for the plot or for dungeons

>"Dance zones"
I read that was a fake email and the patch notes were based on a reddit shitpost

This shit game used to have a list of subscriber "benefits" assraping on their main site, what happened to it?

Are you being serious? Exile was canon female years before TOR

I remember having 5 fps in battlegrounds.

It's mechanically horrible and utterly focused on story, but the majority of the stories are bad and plenty of dialogues are embarrassing.
What it did to Revan and KOTOR as a whole is unforgivable, also.

lol

ok

op

Female Exile is cannon m8. It's how Darth Sion finally dies in Kotor 2 because he caught the feels for the exile.

It honestly feels like a single player game on an MMO engine. If you decide to play, try getting starting around one of their double XP events and blaze through the base game's story that way.
If you like you can then always sub for a month and get all the expansions for keeps as well as having an upgraded account which is slightly better than a free account and slightly worse than a premium account.

Game would be fine if it was marketed as a multi-player rpg. But since it is called an mmo expectations are higher. It's not an mmo at all.
And honestly that star wars license is most likely getting expensive now. Expect servers to shut down in the next few years.

It's a shame the story is great for what it is. Sith warrior story is fucking amazing.

Thank the retard that bought the hero engine.

The fact that the Exile is canonically a female annoys me because it means disciple is a canon follower and handmaiden isn't

Guess again.

Dickteasing Atton and Bao Dur is pretty fun though.

real talk tho alderaan is comfy af

>Female Exile is cannon m8
Nothing of the Old Republic franchise is cannon other than the Hammerhead ships and the fact that there's a fucked up planet called Malachor.

>Game would be fine if it was marketed as a multi-player rpg.

I don't understand why they didn't do that. It was clear that Bioware were more interested in making KOTOR 3 then a WoW knockoff. MMO's with an emphasis on story content rarely work. Everybody was fucking sick of MMOs in 2011-2012 anyway.

I dont know what im guessing again
if exile was female but handmaiden is a canon follower then thats just dumb

canon*

>thats just dumb

canon pertaining to the eu, which all kotor-era stuff belongs to. Only Sup Forums and plebbit care about the new continuity, so don't bother making the canon/non-canon distinction around these parts.

obviously canon here is in reference to The Old Republic's canon not Disney canon

If they made the combat more fluid I would still be playing the game

I read from a couple of sources the Imperial Agent story is surprisingly good, but all I care about is the Bounty Hunter story which opinion seems to be it's somewhere between meh and good.

can confirm, it's nothing special. Pic related is much better.

Not better, can't be a Mandalorian, or a Mandalorian qt

Are there any private servers of this?

It's a bad MMO. Shit zones, awful controls/movement, atrocious UI.

Yes you can. Just like swtor, star wars: bounty hunter takes place in the EU, where Jango is one of the last of members of Jaster Mereels True Mandalorians.

Gameplay
Voice acting
Animation

>private server for a f2p game
why

I, for one, will always regret that I'll never get to play as a pink-haired non-binary otherkin lesbian feminist Jedi.

'Cause it's more a p2p than a f2p one.

Still not interested, though I think its funny in nu-canon Jango is not Mandalorian but just a guy who has Mandalorian armor.

Do they offer anything now if you purchased it on launch? I'd like to finish my character stories, I guess.

well, the explanation for it in nu-canon is based off of the quote form the guy in the clone wars tv show who aggressively and readily dismisses jango as a common bounty hunter and that he has no idea how he got the armor. The way he says it suggests there may be more to the story that the audience does it know or is supposed to know.
