I used to do that in GTA Online.
No missions, no grind for money, just cool music a fast car or bike and riding through the chaos of people trying to kill me-others-themselves.
Then Rockstar got too greedy with the pay for new content or grind for months and erased the damn thing.

In this case, Hob, Hyper Light Drifter and Rayman Legends come to mind, since they have excuse plots if any and the dialog is in gibberish anyway.
