Why do these bandits never fire a single shot until you're right in front of them, and only in the direction you're going and not where you were, so you hit them 100% of the time for three damage and fail your run every single time? Yeah it's a Nuclear Throne thread. Post soundmods and other shit.

Now can we talk instead about how Crystal is best girl
>more HP
>can run out into the open without fear of being shot
>have the benefit of having a melee weapon without having one
don't forget throne butt
I don't like her throne butt, it doesn't let you shield for as long as you can without it.
One of her ultra mutations lets you move while shielded which I prefer
Just bought this game and I'm getting into it. Any tips for a successful run
I've tried other characters but I keep going back to Robot simply because having stupid amounts of ammo and another source of health is too convenient to give up.
learn to dodge
take it slow
when you get hella good take it fast
no shit i'm talking about any good combos or strategies that work really well
Focus bandits and crows. Try to learn audio cues and adapt to them.
Use cover. No really, stick to walls and take your time. You can literally waste time on any level you want with no penalty like Binding of Isaac.
Melee enemies like spiders roboyetis and rats will outright exploit your weapon reload / recharge times to run into you for cheap damage. If you miss with a melee weapon, backpedal asap.
None. Survive.

>Why do these bandits never fire a single shot until you're right in front of them, and only in the direction you're going and not where you were
If you look at the bandit code they actually don't aim until after they've already pulled the trigger. Then they waddle around a bit based on whether they have line of sight with the player, then their aim is based on what direction they are walking in.
It's simultaneously brilliant in how it characterizes the bandits as stupid scavengers but bullshit in that there's absolutely nothing the player can do to prepare for their awful but occasionally telepathic aim.
Entering crown vaults makes the difficulty higher, which also means you get better weapon spawns. This might make it easier for you to beat Lil Hunter, who is the casual filter of Nuclear Throne.
Stronger Spirit mutation is pretty good and will save your runs
Gamma Guts seems shit at first but it might prevent you from taking damage from rats, robots, maggots and whatever the things in 6-1 are.
Melee weapons deflect projectiles and hit through walls.
But mostly just bob and weave until you win.
OP here. Anybody interested in a relic from /ntg/ times? Pic related is the songlist for the first /ntg/ soundmod, made from random posts. If anyone wants I can get you a Mega link with this.
I did not know this. Any other secrets like that that you can reveal to me to be a better player? Feels like this sort of shit is something that should be in a guide infographic for everyone.
Never, ever, ever carry two weapons of the same ammo type.
Find a character you like and learn how to abuse their RMB
Pick every mutation at least once to learn what they do; keep in mind some are better on different characters, for example Second Stomach is a must-pick for Robot. Scarier Face and Throne Butt are always good picks.
The shovel and sledgehammer are better than the overwhelming majority of the weapons you can find in the first three quarters of the game; don't discount them just because they're melee weapons.
Don't be intimidated by bosses; they have surprisingly little health and will go down pretty quickly under sustained fire. Most of your deaths against bosses will come from you getting cornered or being attacked by other enemies, so always keep your position in mind. High-damage-high-ammo-consumption weapons like the triple machinegun are boss melters.
The tooltip about energy weapons using more ammo is a lie.
There are secret areas in the game, but I won't spoil them for you.
Fish can roll.
I like Robot too, though I prefer characters that let me kill shit faster like Steroids and YV, or Crystal since I can play more recklessly with her.
>not using Steroids with 2 bullet weapons and 4 different ammo mutations
bandits shoot faster/more often if there are a lot of them
See ordinarily I prefer characters that kill shit faster, but everything in NT dies so fast anyway that I don't see the point. Robot just helps me keep that sweet, sweet momentum going.
I remember making a Jet Set Radio mod. I can post that too if anyone wants and if I bother remembering this thread later.
I made a shitty SMT soundmod myself back when /ntg/ existed
Here's the second /ntg/ collective soundmod by the way
You don't seem to understand what I meant.
I'd like sound mods, post whatever you got. I'm using a weeb sound mod from /ntg/ now, here it is if anyone wants it

O-Oh.
bumping
Any of you know good mods for NT?
Don't even bother with mods. Soundmods are all you need.
