It was always Eggman, only later during Adventure did they come to a compromise with the full name being Dr. Ivo "Eggman" Robotnik (It's why gerald Robotnik is still "Robotnik" even in Japan). Then only recent did they explain that Ivo took the Eggman name and own it as something to be feared.

All this can be found why through a simple google search.

Sonic was once thought of as a rock start, with fangs and a human girlfriend, because Sega wanted him to be "cooler than Mario", which obivously became a thing with the series
But these ideas were gone, but apparently someone at Sega kept these, meaning Princess Elise, in some way, resembles Madonna
Sega of America also told Sonic Team, at some point, that some of these ideas were weird, such as the characters taking place in the same world as humans

I think the cartoon is good. Short and amusing. Lots of adult jokes that kids won't get but I sure appreciate them. I really liked it when Eggman went to the library.

Right I'm all caught up, Game sucked hard and the few episodes of the show I saw was alright.
Not sure if its worth watching more though, what do you guys think?
