That's how I've been doing it, and haven't seen any effects. I also make sure that the console dies while in handheld mode before I put it back on the dock to make sure the battery stays at its most efficient

>buys Switch
>never use it
For what purpose?

Yes, have you not had an electronic device with a battery before?

>I also make sure that the console dies while in handheld mode before I put it back on the dock to make sure the battery stays at its most efficient

If you actually did yourself you'd know that it kills battery life to do that. Only really recent batteries have solved that problems, moslty for phones.

Letting it die is going to negatively effect battery life, likely. Same with leaving it plugged in. You don't want to let it die, you just want it to discharge to low percentages then charge it to full. Charge cycles Sup Forums.

Accept that's wrong. That hasn't been true since shitty NiCad batteries. Letting it drain is bad for lithium ion batteries and there are a finite number of recharge cycles before it wears out. Voltage regulators exist for a reason.

>letting a lithium ion battery hit 0% constantly
You fucking idiot

Fuck. What's the best way to preserve the battery on this thing? I've just been leaving it in the dock on sleep mode with the controllers attached.

I always use it, but when I'm not using it I just put it in the dock without turning it off completely, is it wrong ?

I've ben doing it with controllers detached

Optimally you'd find a way to keep it at 50-80% charge at all times to maximize longevity.

Really, just don't let it hit 0%, and play it out of dock occasionally to let it discharge below 100% and its almost as good

>don't let it hit 0%
Retard, you're supposed to let it hit 0% before charging again to maintain battery life

Are you fucking retarded?

NERD FIGHTTTTTT

Batteries don't work like this anymore.

Never reproduce.

I'm the OP, answer me you fucking faggots.

not that user but
>assuming that even 1% of the population actually knows how batteries work best
You fucking idiot

I uh.... didn't even know there was a way to turn off the Switch. I knew there was a way to RESET it (by changing your language). But to shut it down.

HOW?

You see that power button on the top?

I wouldn't do that for too long. At least shut it off every few days.

Well, that's what I do then. Why is the power button and the sleep symbol the same?

Because it always is.

The power off option is kinda hidden. You don't get to it by just long pressing the power button.

>You don't get to it by just long pressing the power button.
But that's exactly what you do.

I leave my pc on for weeks at a time and only turn it off when the ram starts building up to 8gigs.
