DOS2

So this is my first time playing this kind of game.

So how do you actually approach this? Should you just, go with your gut and play it out however you want it? Does that lock you out on actual story stuff or what?

Or I should actually follow a guide or something? Like, there is an actual proper progression? Really have no idea on this so I'm asking.

Any anons used Beast/Lohse? I've always ran with Sibelle x Prince x Fane x Ifan

>Or I should actually follow a guide or something?
I'd argue one should never do this in any game period. Just play and have fun, if you encounter problems and feel you cannot beat something even in 100 tries, then think some more, change your tactics, google up, or come here. Have fun

how the fuck do i use the controls on this game?

>I'd argue one should never do this in any game period
Meant on the first playthrough, if you want to be competitive or 100%-complete something, use whatever, obviously

Ifan x Lohse is best

>larianiggers will defend this

Yeah I understand what you're saying. What I really meant is that, if for example I just go with whatever answer I want, does that actually lock me on important stuff later on that can flesh out more of the story?

Like, I just actually played the ship part and I tried to save the gurgling minister when it was sinking. In the end I was just swept away..

>I'd argue one should never do this in any game period.
> change your tactics, google up, or come here.

So when you say google, you mean look at a FUCKING GUIDE THAT SHOWS YOU HOW TO BEAT IT. Using a guide doesn't ruin the game (WE ARE NOT YOU!) so fuk off!

Might try this blood Necro out on Fane

>In the end I was just swept away..
Well, was it fun? There's your answer

I actually meant googling up if other players had similar issues (steam, gamefaq, whatever shithole you like to browse).
Besides, even if it were reading a guide, there is a large difference between playing each encounter/decision according to a guide right from the beginning, and referring to it in times of great despair

What's with that attitude, user? So much aggression, get back to Sup Forums or something. I started my sentence with "I'd argue", don't you understand the meaning of simple English structures?

>Well, was it fun? There's your answer
I don't know why you don't want to acknowledge my actual question though.

just play blind but remember
-levels play a huge role
-leave a quest for later if too weak
-cc is guaranteed once armor is down
-get pet pal for extra stuff

The only thing I'll say is make sure you have a character with the scholar tag, a character with the pet pal talent, and a character with a few points invested in perception. Aside from that, go play the game.

NO offence, but you are one self-centered prick, who most likely loves the smell of his own farts...... Please don't get mad, I'm assuming you "understand the meaning of simple English structure, when i said no offence at the start?

Also
>I actually meant googling up if other players had similar issues

So looking at guides still....... Remember WE ARE NOT YOU!

>levels play a huge role
This. If you're sitting around wondering "why can't I kill these crocodiles?" then the answer is that you need another level.

The knee is the most erogenous zone.

...

Is Lucky charm worth it

In the ship there were 2 wounded soldiers that I can fight or ignore. I tried to fight them but I just die. I don't understand how to kill them without even getting levels.

A character with the Scholar and Mystic tags is extremely helpful, Fane has both if you plan on using him, plus he gets the undead tag as well

Uh, well, later yes it's p good

If you wanna cheese? No, Thievery is ungodly broken and a good way to have the game shit money and Legendary/Divine items on you

Just do whatever the fuck you want. Do guideless run, move at your own pace, don't rush (unless that's how you play).
Don't be like me. Being completionist is suffering, I restarted 7 times on the tutorial island to get the desired party comp and don't have the desire to finish the game even though I am at final chapter because I missed few collectibles and quests on previous chapter

>Should you just, go with your gut and play it out however you want it?
Yes that's generally how the game is designed for you to play it

>Does that lock you out on actual story stuff or what?
Not usually no unless your idea of playing how you want is to go around and kill every NPC you see.

There's really no point in using a guide, quests are pretty straightforwards. You're going to want to stack your party with either physical or magical damage though just because of how the armor system works though.

The only guide I would look at is one for crafting because there's a whole tier of spellbooks that can only be crafted. That can wait until after fort joy though.

Summoning

Warfare/Necromancy/Polymorph

Marksman/Polymorph

Remember that CC os king on this game amd if you just try to trade hits with enemies you're going to have a bad time because you will be outnumbered more often than not

My starting job was a Rouge I think? The one that can backstab. Doesn't have CC though. I think I'll have to change the skills.
