Let's remaster an unfinished game but not actually finish it, it'll be hilarious

This is not using a new engine; it is not a remake of any sort. It's a quick cash grab that updates textures and improves resolution and frame-rate. That's it. Shadows Die Twice is the game From is focused on.

>This is not using a new engine; it is not a remake of any sort.

incorrect. it's on DaS3 engine and will have upgrades

>I'm op and I'm a stupid heterosexual, I like licking gross, fish smelling meat caves

Vaati is not a source. Where has From themselves actually said this (a direct quote)? It's just gaming "journalists" recycling the same wrong info in an echo chamber if you actually bother to follow their "sources".

>shadows die twice
I just want to be once in my life not emberassed buying a physical copy of games i enjoy

@403645393

source?

Right, and it will somehow run at 60 fps on the consoles that ran DS3 at 30 with dips

its just a port pushed by namco

>No dude like what if we only use decent textures for like 2 areas so we have more time to stick dozens of enemies on the paths to boss doors. People want a hard game, it'll be hilarious!

>remaster
>finish the game
Name one remaster that actually changed the game and finished off areas and bosses that were unfinished originally.

wouldn't be made unless it was on das3 engine

that's nice, i don't care what vaati said. people who understand the game industry can make calls like this quite easily because it's simply based on logic and return on investment

confused what thought you are trying to express. seems rather malformed

putting a game in another engine doesn't mean you increase polygon counts by double and fill the screen with shaders

this game is horribly dated. having to walk between bonfires is a nightmare and a hinder. no wonder they scrapped that gruelling idea in all the sequels with fast travel. I won't be buying this shitty old game just because it has a new coat of paint on it. It's still a dated piece of broken shit.

It does mean rebuilding the game in the new engine, something From doesn't have time to do. There is absolutely no source that claims this remaster has transitioned to DaS3.

>let's keep the game half-finished but add three more characters, two of which are broken as fuck
>buy it or else we'll say the franchise is dead and never release DMC5

>Nah bro let's make this area ANOTHER swamp, it'll be hilarious! Now I just gotta go check in with the gravestone team, I'm still worried we don't have enough gravestones in this game

>something From doesn't have time to do

yes which is why they subcontracted another developer who's been working on it for almost a year

I know you don't understand this and will probably never understand this but intelligent people who understand things can be right without needing a source

Do you really think they went back and just slightly modified the almost 10 year old engine? wtf lol

destructoid.com/-update-dark-souls-remastered-will-not-be-using-new-assets-482196.phtml
The opposite in fact. All FROM have confirmed is dedicated servers, increased player cap and a frame boost.

>DeS with 6th archstone never ever

There's nothing to modify. Increasing resolution and dropping in new textures does not require an engine modification. Improved lighting and HDR would, but From has already confirmed that these features will NOT be in the remaster. You can logically conclude that it's the old engine.

>intelligent people who understand things can be right without needing a source

not him but jesus christ I hope you gain self-awareness someday

>You can logically conclude that it's the old engine.

how about we make a money bet on it for $50 in front of the thread and then you buy me a $50 game when it's the das3 engine

steamcommunity.com/id/swayzesghost

same goes for anyone else

every confirmed change is something the game has had for years on PC. why would they bother porting it to a new engine when they can just change a few numbers like fps cap?

what a faggot

think about what you just posted

dude if they've been working on it for almost a year, and all they gave us was a pre-rendered teaser, and it's coming out in 4 months. They ain't done jack.

see
now where's my damn $50?

bet $50 it's on modified dark souls 1 engine and not das3 engine

>I know you don't understand this and will probably never understand this but intelligent people who understand things can be right without needing a source

...

Dark souls 3 barely ran on Xbone and Ps4 at 30 frames, and you're expecting this to run on the Switch? Could you be any more delusional?

>@

assets are not engine, though i wouldn't expect you to know the difference

honestly not something you can understand if you're not a genius iq type

i pity basically all you little people who don't have associative intelligence who can't make correct calls on the future. must hurt everything in your life quite a lot.

irrelevant, resolution etc

I hope this is bait, if not, try and finish the game

Why not add or finish content in the original game? Because it doesn't fucking matter, faggots will fall for the "hype" and buy it anyways, paying $50 bucks or whatever the premium just to have it on a new system, this shit is just so fucking baffling to me but it's not like it matters anyways, Zelda TP did it, Skyrim did it, Darksiders did it, Bioshock did it and many many others with a simple copy and paste job + a little bump in resolution without changing jack shit at all and wouldn't you know it, makes them a ton of profit anyways

Frankly a quick-and-dirty port to DaS3 engine would create more issues than it'd solve. If they don't upgrade the assets it won't look significantly better and if they don't spend time testing and tweaking everything to account for the difference between the engines we'll end up with a broken mess that'll feel wrong.

I don't really see why they'd bother porting the game to a new engine (even if they're probably pretty similar under the hood). Recompiling DaS to newer hardware is probably pretty easy given that it's already multiplat and unlocking the resolution and framerate shouldn't be very difficult since DSFix managed it by reverse-engineering the binary.

>If they don't upgrade the assets it won't look significantly better

Yes, it will. Lighting engine is worlds better and DaS is a game about lighting

>acting like a retard on purpose.
