I was tempted to buy one to play RE 7 on it it's too much for one game.
VR is definitely worth it. But consoles are shit.
Skyrim VR is amazing
> inb4 Todd posting
Not enough good games yet. Don't listen to the VRbabbies trying to sell their casual tech demo shit. By the end of this year it might be worth it though.
Depends on what you are expecting out of it.
Are you expecting some kind of futuristic leap in gaming on the whole? You will be disappointed.
On the whole, a lot of games on VR are short with simple concepts that a lot of people feel are tech demos, however, it is great for people who fans of old school arcade experiences.
There are some long in the tooth titles out for it now, but I personally don't like them much. Skyrim feels amazing and fresh, but I would rather just play Starblood Arena or Battlezone for a few quick matches with a sense of accomplishment instead of a long time invested.
The PC community has kind of weird offerings to be honest. A lot of the games on the VR front there are super duper shitty from a design and performance standpoint and they tend to be incredibly expensive to try and recoup costs, but you do get nice things like VR Chat you can't get on the playstation.
As it stands right now, I would put PSVR above PC VR from a pure game selection standpoint. A lot less turds on the PS than on the PC. Shame, because the tech for the PC is without a doubt far better in every way.
RE 7 in VR was shit, user.
The only game that made me sick while playing because the 3D effects were completely fucked in it.
No it wasn't. It's the PS4 that's just shit. Everything about that game works great with VR otherwise.
If you already have a decent PC, $400 for Oculus is definitely worth it right now. Just spend responsibly. Have to think if you can afford $400 on a toy? Don't do it you shitlord. Only buy shit like that if it won't affect you financially much.
It works well and PSVR is the best one yet in terms of content and games.
However PCVR has a higher res screen and more accurate tracking. But you will still get the sense of presence on console.
Nah the PS4 version wasn't shit. It was still smooth and gave you the immersion and all important sense of presence. But PS4Pro is the way to go for the vastly better experience.
Just got my PS VR. Got nauseous as fuck. Gonna take a break and try it again in a few hours.
How is PSVR best in content? Even if you'll argue that there is no games in TONS of free and paid indies all around steam and general internet, you can't argue that the ability to make almost any direct-x game old and new vr-compatible with 3rd party software doesn't count as "content"
youtube.com
I'm not a shitposter and I don't know almost anything about PSVR, but I'm sure it can't have more quality content than that.
Nope, just wait two more years. Lower prices and actual fun content.
If it isn't build for VR it is trash VR content.
PSVR has the most and best content.
Remember all PSVR content is made for VR and automatically it is better than 99% of what you can do on pc.
Also you can just look at the quality of the PSVR exclusive games. There are plenty of lists on youtube.
Now's the best time to get into it on pc. The windows mixed reality headsets are dirt cheap to buy at the moment online on places like amazon. I bought the dell brand one for $210. It's simply plug and play for native games, but you can effectively play any vr title on pc if you download the required software from both the vive, and oculus site, and then download and install revive.
>If it isn't build for VR it is trash VR content.
Not really?
>PSVR has the most
no
>and best content.
debatable
>Remember all PSVR content is made for VR and automatically it is better than 99% of what you can do on pc.
Implying that PCVR games aren't made for VR specifically.
its decent on pc, you can actually race against ai in vr or online, ps4 is not powerfull enough for rendering 2 cars in vr.
What? I just beat the game in VR last night, and preferred it to playing without VR. It made the game scary again.
>Not really?
Yes really.
First of all the sense of presence only works when you stand still and even then most stuff that has to do with scale doesn't translate properly because everything starts to looks cartoony due to the size being intended for a 2d screen and not a real world size. This results in doorways being too small/big etc.
Breaks the art.
>no
Yes
>debatable
No
>Implying that PCVR games aren't made for VR specifically.
No. Your insecurities read it that way.
>delusional console exclusivity rantings
user, just stop. VR is better in every sense on PC.
PCVR only has better tech. Nothing else.
>Yes really.
Depends on the game. Many games can be hacked to even have positional tracking, like BeamNG, for example. Even with primitive implementations like Stalker, it's still literally better than nothing. You get a whole legacy of amazing games to play in 3D, for no additional cost.
>Yes
Are you telling me that curated PSVR library has more content than all of steam/oculus store/free indie shit and experiments on other websites like itch.io?
>No
Are you telling me that in all of the above you can find less quality content than in just one PS store?
>No. Your insecurities read it that way.
Please tell me how games like gorn, space pirate trainer, h3vr, onward and others aren't made specifically for VR and it's just my insecurity.
>If it isn't build for VR it is trash VR content.
Games that are playable without VR that are given HMD support are the best games though.
be aware you're writing off the single most used feature of VR that is completely unavailable on psvr.
I understood why most vr games are rail shooters after playing re7. It's nauseating as fuck to control a character plus camera in vr.
SPAZ2 handles controlling a ship and camera perfectly.
Best VR for the price and the one with all the games , even PC games come to PSVR.
I can't imagine playing a VR game where you rotate your character with a thumbstick after playing dozens of VR games on PC where you can turn around freely in 360°
The artificial locomotion is something that I quickly got used to and most of the time there's teleportation for everybody else, so that never was an issue in my eyes, but I hate artificial rotation, I can't understand how so many people got PSVR and just accepted this shit
No. Wait for a price drop or further hardware revisions.
>it's still literally better than nothing
But when you are comparing it with 'something' it is trash.
>Many games can be hacked to even have positional tracking
Doesn't matter. The art is broken.
>Are you telling me that curated PSVR library has more content than all of steam/oculus store/free indie shit and experiments on other websites like itch.io?
You would be surprised.
>Are you telling me that in all of the above you can find less quality content than in just one PS store?
Yes. Except if there are games that only have physical copies and no digital.
> gorn, space pirate trainer, h3vr, onward and others aren't made specifically for VR and it's just my insecurity.
I never mentioned any of those games. I just said 99% of what you can do on PC.
"What you can do on PC"
Yes it is just your insecurity that read it that way.
>Games that are playable without VR that are given HMD support are the best games though.
No they feel terrible tp play and look terrible.
>be aware you're writing off the single most used feature of VR that is completely unavailable on psvr.
Nah because PSVR has the same tech in practice. It is just not as high res as the PC version which is why it isn't that big a factor.
The important thing is the sense of presence and nothing else.
>It's nauseating as fuck to control a character plus camera in vr
t. genelet
You don't have to use the camera in RE7 though. You can use the 180 degree spin.
>The important thing is the sense of presence and nothing else.
How much porn have you watched on your PSVR?
And it's weird because you turn
your head horizontally to look around but that doesn't change the direction of your character's movement. I mean you get used to it after a while but it's disorienting as fuck.
>But when you are comparing it with 'something' it is trash.
PCVR has:
shit indie cashgrabs
good indies
great indies
AAA games
virtually any directX game in 3D HMD mode, minimum.
PSVR has
good indies
great indies
AAA games
How is that more by any definition?
There's also none-game stuff on PC like porn, model editing, MMD, etc.
What the fuck? Did you even play RE7 in VR? When you press forward you move in the direction you're looking in.
You guys tend to forget you can just hook up your PSVR to PC.
If you're doing that, why would you purposely get the shittiest vr headset on the market?
When you consider that CCP, the developer that made Eve Valkyrie, recently sacked a ton of their employees and is stopping further VR development, what do you think user?
Think it went well for them?
In the direction you are looking in with the right analog stick.
Uh, no? The head tracking changes direction of movement. No idea what the fuck you're talking about.
It isn't the shittiest. There are pros and cons to all of them.
PSVR has more pros than the rest.
no you cant
except it IS the shittiest. Every other headset on the market is better. There isn't a possible pro that could outweigh having the worst technical specs and being tied to a children's toy.
Trinus VR is 1 google away.
>There isn't a possible pro that could outweigh having the worst technical specs and being tied to a children's toy.
Wrong.
Not only does it have the best refresh rate it also has a foveated pixelgrid allignment and an OLED display.
It also has the lowest latency out of all of them and it has the best comfort levels out of them.
Also it is compatible with PS4 which none of the other headset are.
Shitty tracking, shitty dildo controllers
The other headsets are better in every single way, your a delusional sonybro
Robo Recall is better than anything on psvr, full 360 tracking wipes it’s ass with psvr
Trinus is full of bugs and hard to get working, psmove service is a god damn nightmare, returned that fisher price toy and got a real hmd
no
huh maybe my memory fails me. I only played it once on vr.
>Shitty tracking, shitty dildo controllers
Nah. Tracking good enough for sense of presence and controllers aren't dildos by a long shot toddler.
>The other headsets are better in every single way, your a delusional sonybro
Not in every single way.
>Robo Recall is better than anything on psvr,
No
>full 360 tracking wipes it’s ass with psvr
No
>Trinus is full of bugs and hard to get working
No
>psmove service is a god damn nightmare
You don't need to use it if you don't want to.
>returned that fisher price toy and got a real hmd
All the other HMDs suffer from the exact same shit that PSVR suffers from so stop being so assblasted that PSVR is better.
>Robo Recall is better than anything on psvr
I'd rather play Skyrim which is at least a full game and not a shooting gallery.
>refresh rate
lol 45/60hz being duplicated doesn't magically make it 90/120. This is the same kind of bullshit the PS3 pulled in order to claim 1080p output when they were just upscaling. More importantly though, the game has to be capable of hitting FPS to match the refresh rate or that rate doesn't even matter. PS4 just can't do it. It's why people get sick playing VR games on PS4 when they don't playing the same thing on PC using the Rift or Vive.
>OLED
Rift and Vive are also both OLED.
>latency
lol no. Vive and Rift both have better latency. Even with a wireless adapter, Vive still has better latency than PSVR.
>compatible with PS4
compatible with shit, seems a good place for the PSVR headset.
Nah. Lowest FPS is 60fps and you can use reprojection to get it to 60fps. It looks sharp and feels smooth and has no notable issues.
You can also run the game at 90fps natively or even 120fps natively as some games already do.
>This is the same kind of bullshit the PS3 pulled in order to claim 1080p output when they were just upscaling
No that was what xbox 360 did. PS3 actually had native 1080p. There are people on the internet who did the checkerboard test by having a 1080p checkerboard image where it alternates color for each pixel and there were no scaling artifacts on the PS3 but there was on xbox 360.
>PS4 just can't do it
Except literally all of the games do it currently with better graphics than most PCVR games.
>It's why people get sick playing VR games on PS4
People don't get sick from it. Very few people actually face any issues.
>they don't playing the same thing on PC
Ironically there is more content (including the content you mentioned earlier) that makes people a lot more sick than PSVR would ever do.
>Rift and Vive are also both OLED.
No they aren't. They are LCD you fucking liar. I know this for a fact. Look it up again you brainlet.
>lol no. Vive and Rift both have better latency
PSVR has 18ms
Vive has 22ms
>digitaltrends.com
Don't know what Rift has but i read it had the highest latency of them all.
>compatible with shit, seems a good place for the PSVR headset.
Better than your rig toddler cuck.
>and you can use reprojection to get it to 60fps
120fps*
>No they aren't. They are LCD you fucking liar. I know this for a fact. Look it up again you brainlet.
(you)
Shit i ment RGB not OLED.
My bad.
Regardless the RGB is more important.
PSVR has RGB and the rest has shitty sub 3 subpixels.
>pc fags assblasted at psvr for actually selling unlike their 700 dollar vrchat machine
No. It's biggest meme ever after Kinect in Vidya Games
>reprojection
Is shit you do when you can't render fast enough so you fake it.
>xbox
Xbox did it too? I had a PS3 fat and speak from experience. Most games were upscaled in order to reach 1080p. The console just couldn't do it unless it was ps-store indie shit and not even then most of the time. Regardless you actually get the proper resolution on PC all the time.
>better graphics than most PCVR games
this is just untrue. PSVR is literally the lowest res headset you can get. There are better phones that do vr with better graphics.
>Rift and Vive are LCD
lol, they're OLED. I don't know where you're getting information but they're fucking lying to you.
>PSVR is 18ms
Vive is 11ms, Rift is 13ms.
Stop drinking the console koolaid.
I keep seeing funny videos of people in like, 3D chatrooms with cartoon character avatars and I want it just for that
I feel like this is the “wild west” phase of this tech and I don’t wanna miss out on the fun
Should I get VR for Subnautica and Honey Select?
That's VRChat, you don't actually need VR to play it and it is free.
VR is and ever will be a meme. user, you ARE VR
how do i solve the overheating issue with my Vive when doing seated stuff? As soon as i get up and do roomscale/standing its like nothing happened. But after 30 minutes of seated gaming it starts to flash(except for bigscreen beta) SEND HELP.
Use a fan or keep the room a couple degrees cooler than normal. The reason you're not as bothered when you're standing is you're exerting more energy so you're already hot and there's therefore not the difference in temperatures between you and the unit.
Will have to try that user, thanks!
>Is shit you do when you can't render fast enough so you fake it.
Doing it natively is wasteful when you have a 120hz HMD.
>Most games were upscaled in order to reach 1080p
Nah most games just weren't 1080p.
>There are better phones that do vr with better graphics.
Post something better than Blood and truth.
> I don't know where you're getting information but they're fucking lying to you.
i meant RGB
>Vive is 11ms, Rift is 13ms.
Source?
Playstation Move revision when?
I set my Vive up as my primary monitor doing that. It is in many ways superior to having a projector setup.
