I do like how much people suck Waver's dick but he sucks so much its funny. You need an attacker than can deal damage not a unit that needs a ton of investment just so it is able to buff the real gamebusters.I have my launch account with him and i couldn't get past chapter 2 with him.

New event puts your servants on a cooldown timer and doesn't allow supports, so people without a rotation of multiple solid teams get fucked while the whales thrive. If you waifufagged all your resources into one or two servants you're not going to stand a chance.

It's for a single event and nothing else, specifically meant to be a challenge and punishes dumb whales who rely on Merlin and Waver for everything.

The tier lists assume latest JP meta so it doesn't really apply to current NA balance. Waver doesn't really become good until he hits third ascension and levels up his skills. When you do, you're rewarded with silly shit like gifting 50% NP boost to your buster servant for consecutive NPs on a short cooldown, which comes along with full party attack/defense buffs (extremely rare). Damage dealer servants are a dime a dozen but there's not many support servants, and nothing's as good at that job as Waver (until Memelin).

Just because your level 39 Waver isn't one shotting waves of Riders doesn't mean he's a bad servant. Level him up to max, grab a support Okita or something, and you'll see how good he is for yourself.

If Merlin won't be available for long stretches of time do you seriously believe they'll make it impossible to clear quests without him? He's the best support by far but no fight in the game has required him to clear it.
