Here is your controller bro

it'll be like $150 won't it?
If it was a reasonable price I'd buy it in an instant.
No idea. The leak come from some chinese forum
>still no motion controls, touchpad or literally anything both Sony and Ninty have for TWO FUCKING GENERATIONS ALREADY
I really wanted an Elite but fuck that $150 price tag
tell me how that trackpad is working out for you on ps4
>believing chinks
On PS4? Not at all because most games are multiplats and Xbox holds back progress. But on PC it's the best shit ever.
it's essentially one extra button and that is its only practical use
>Motion controls
>Touchpad
Both are features nobody fucking uses when the alternative is available. There are several moves in Mario Odyssey that are unused by almost the entire player base because they're locked to the awful motion controls.
It's useless on PS4 because all PS4 games are multiplats, so they can't be designed to use the touchpad. Meanwhile Switch games can actually use the unique features of the controller and they're still useless gimmicks I can live without
Is that why it's so small?
>undetatchable
Into the trash it goes
Waggle controls are shit, and Mario Odyssey is exactly that. Meanwhile, games like Splatoon, Gravity Rush or Metroid Prime use motion conteols for added precision, and they are fantastic.
>There are several moves in Mario Odyssey that are unused by almost the entire player base because they're locked to the awful motion controls.
This is true, I played the entire game with the pro controller making some hat throw movies extremely annoying so I never used them. Even when I play with the Joycons they're attached to the system so the motion controls sucked.
Can somebody explain what the design cretins were thinking when making the buttons convex?
Literally hurts the middle section of my thumb when I use xbox controllers
...
Are you made of paper mache by chance?
how’s the elite dpad
No, and no I don't have calloused hands obviously, but fucking think about it.
Whenever you need to smash the button quickly with the thumb's mid section, it starts getting sore
It literally doesn't ever happen on a playstation controller cause the buttons are fucking flat
What the fuck were they thinking?
Sounds like video games might just be a little too strenuous for you, user.
Quit mashing the button with your full retard strength.
It's not so simple, boys. Some games require the swiftness and force for the frame perfect inputs. I don't do it when I don't have to, but please understand.
I think you'll like Joycons' snappy buttons.
I can't imagine any Xbox game which requires frame perfect inputs that you shouldn't be playing on anything else to begin with.
What if I told you I speedrun
Xbox has precisely zero exclusives.
Come on, man. Why would you make excuses for the convex button design like that. It's abysmal!
Then I would ask you which pronouns you prefer.
FUCKING GOOD do you know how fucking annoying it is to have that touchpad integrated to every single fucking game do you know how fucking annoying annoying it is to be playing a game and using my controller and then just lightly brisk the touchpad and then the pause menu comes up do you know how fucking annoying it is that this gimmicky piece of shit is forced into every fucking first-party title for the PS4 it's bad enough that the PS4 controller is a cheap flimsy garbage piece of shit that can barely stand up to any wear and tear where the charging port will get loosened up and disconnected whereas taking the thing apart to fix the inevitable internal issues makes you realize the thing is built like a spring-loaded trap the PS4 controller was a fucking mistake out of all the controllers I've used is the most flimsiest of them all it's fucking garbage
he/his/him?
Gyro aiming is really great for Gravity Rush on the PS4. Feels really precise to aim. More console games should consider incorporating gyro aiming honestly.
What the fuck kind of speedrunner are you? Get the fuck out of here.
>Rechargeable batteries, undetachable
so if the battery breaks i just buy a new controller?
You disassemble the thing and replace it. Is replacing batteries too complex for amerifats?
>You disassemble the thing and replace it. Is replacing batteries too complex for amerifats?
i shouldn't put extra work for something that was standard
Samurai Jack is Japanese though.
Wait a minute, did tht original elite controller not have rechargeable batteries?
Fucking seriously?
>microsoft are now remastering their controllers
*inhales*
A retarded, outdated standard that Microsoft is finally ditching.
>$150 controller
>shit dpad
Nope. You use it for 8 hours, and then send it to Microsoft for repair.
Think of it like a temporary powerup. If you could use it all the time, you'd have an unfair advantage.
who actually gives a fuck about the d-pad any more?
Anyone who still plays actual videogames in this day and age.
it should have always came with a rechargeable battery, but they should have always given you the option to switch
I use it often
>defending a non replaceable battery
t. soy
It's working great on PC
Not great. The little satellite dish thing that's made it iconic is pretty much an inferior version of the stick. The actual d-pad you can replace it with isn't that great either, but still a step up from the standard xbone controller
I've just delt with it so far since it's my primary PC controller (2lazy to plug in DS4 from playstation to pc). The only thing that actually irks me are the control stick replacements. I like my sticks convex like the PS3, but the convex options the elite controller came with are actually too tall to use comfortably. Also the bumpers are still shit
No company does that, so it's pointless to complain. Not to mention the cancerous lump it leaves on the back blocking your fingers. This is the best available method.
It is replaceable. You're just too dense to do what hundreds of kids on Youtube do.
don't be thick
there are plenty of good games that are not only viable, but even preferable with an analog stick or mouse & keyboard. you've been living under a rock for years if you don't believe this
should i get a ps4 mini controller?
All I want is the back paddles
If they made a cheaper Pleb Elite that only had back paddles and the rest was identical I would get it
lol nope. you still either had to use AA batteries or buy those overly expensive play and charge kits.
MS decided that throwing in some brand name batteries and bragging about that was a good trade off for not including a play and charge kit.
>lightly brisk the touchpad and then the pause menu comes up
See, that's the consequences of having tech but not being able to utilise it properly. If they actually used touchpad for useful things, they wouldn't use it as an oversized pause button.
Or just use your own rechargeables? I figured everyone did this, I've been doing it since the 360 and never had issues, is it really that difficult for people to swap batteries once every few weeks and buy new ones every three to four years?
superior controller comin throu
It would be great if it had back paddles
Does this have a gyro
I would love a ds4 that doesn't have a shit dpad
It makes sense on phones, but controllers have a TON of free space inside.
I'm assuming so. This article mentions that it doesn't have a lightbar, headphone jack, or built in speaker. If it didn't have a gyro then that should have been listed.
polygon.com
I recently got a steam controller and I don't understand the demand for back paddles. Sure they are nice but a trigger works just as well
You know, a lot of people don't even consider gyro a feature worth mentioning.
>Xbox one pad improves or fixes literally everything I didn't like like with the 360 controller
>God-tier D-pad, face buttons, textured sticks all 10/10
>Bumpers occasionally jam and the overall comfort of the grip is slightly worse than the 360
ITS SO AGONIZINGLY CLOSE YET THEY HAD TO FUCK UP WHAT WOULD HAD BEEN THE BEST GAMEPAD OF ALL TIME
>I figured everyone did this
not really. only brainlets.
why the fuck would they design a $150 controller that still doesnt have a rechargeable battery? just about every electronic device out there has some form of rechargeable battery.
and dont give me that "just dont be lazy and change them" bullshit because if MS did originally release their controllers with a rechargeable battery, you would be loving that shit.
>being this jaded
>There are several moves in Mario Odyssey that are unused by almost the entire player base because they're locked to the awful motion controls.
Actually they are unused by almost the entire player base because they don't know you can perform them by pressing X+A.
There are maybe 2 moves that absolutely require motion controls, and they're not awful either.
>no headphone/mic jack
"superior"
You are such a fucking child Jesus
Because it's extra buttons other than the trigger
It's used to replace face buttons essentially, so you can jump or roll in dark souls without taking your thumb off the camera
not me (the guy you replied to). I've never tried a ps4 controller, but I want a 360 layout with a non-shit dpad so this controller is luring me in. but I cant find info on a NA release date
Which is a shame, gyro aim is great, as Splatoon and Gravity Rush prove
Not really, I don't like that other controllers will die off faster due to the internal battery. Sure you can change it once it starts to die out but it's much more work than simply changing AAs and not needing to worry about it. My DS4 is my least favorite because it's also a battery hog, at least my Switch pad can hold a charge for a while before being forced to be wired or stop playing. Not sure why you assume I love Microsoft completely out of the blue considering I haven't even used my Xbox in over a year, but I love the X1 pad for how long it'll last thanks to letting me use whatever batteries I want as opposed to forcing me to one day open it up and buy some third party battery or a new controller entirely
Just get a regular Xbone controller, it already has a great dpad
xbox controllers suck ass. their sticks start drifting 30 seconds after the warranty expires
>It is replaceable. You're just too dense to do what hundreds of kids on Youtube do.
i don't want to go out of my way to open the controller, special order a battery, and carefully switch them around for a controller that'll only last 3 hours cause the batteries are so cheap when just changing a battery pack quickly is more convent
I should add that I don't think the AA solution is inherently the best of course, and that there's merits to both, and considering the cost of the Elite pad, they should include both the play and charge kit as well as a second swappable battery for the kit so it can be used either way without requiring the purchase of additional accessories
I just don't get the autism of being completely unable to swap AA batteries and pretending like rechargables are some mystical expensive technology.
I've had my X1 pad for over three years and use it for a lot of PC games as well as the time I put into MCC before giving up on it thanks to its issues and I still don't have any stick drift or issues with my pad at all, pretty sure you're just seeing the effects of low quality control rather than a conspiracy
it's a little bit of both. those controllers aren't designed to last.
It's really fucking bizarre that people actually WANT proprietary batteries in their shit.
AA cells are love, AA cells are life, enjoy taking apart your controller to replace the battery with some crappy chink clone in 5 years while I just swap in a new pair of eneloops.
