You're talking Nightmare King right? He's not so bad, you just gotta learn his moves (I think he had like 5). He's faster sure, but if you treat each attack separately its just dodge-hit-dodge-hit... and then when he does the delayed flares hit him with abyss wail.

I'm about 10 hours in on my first playthrough, it's just fucking crazy how much detail and content there is to get through. Just got to the city of tears. Only area I hated so far was the fucking pitch black bug area after the moth fight. Also not the biggest fan of how you have to find a bench to map your location, what's the point of that feature existing?
Quirrel is a GOAT npc.

If only we would've known what a great game this would come to be, we would've donated more to the kickstarter and got stuff like playable Zote and an actual Void area with bosses.

Remember to read carefully as you don't want to be spoiled. The story and the lore are actually much deeper than your average metroidvania. It took me 57 hours to 100% complete the game.

Eh, I don't know, I feel like the game drags towards the and as it is.
If they somehow managed to make the combat more interesting and platforming feel good this would have been one of the top games of last year.
Even with the garbage feeling platforming I fucking loved the challenges, though White Palace was disappointing as fuck, I was waiting it to become challenging any minute and then it was over.

Yeah, kinda struggled with the parts where you are supposed to bounce of enemies but I think it was some sorta issue with xpadder and my controller cause it was easy as fuck to hit all of those perfectly with keyboard.
Even handicapped myself and did it with the shitty fucking controller anyway cause playing with keyboard at that point just felt too weird.
I actually never beat the final boss and some of the optional bosses though and I doubt I will, it feels like such a drag at this point and the platforming and combat being kinda cruddy is kinda putting me off.
