What's Blizzard's endgame?

Is it to drive off all subscribers? Exactly who plans on watching their forced E-sports?

>WoW killed the themepark genre
>SC2 killed the "we made this game for esports" genre
>OWL killed all the investors for esports
Its endgame is fixing video games, even at the cost of its own life.

>trying to make their pve content an esport

The Mythic dungeon races are actually surprisingly more entertaining than the pvp

>>WoW killed the themepark genre
Didn't it create it to begin with though? Or in the very least it popularized it.

not very surprising, wow has never been a pvp game

>Is it to drive off all subscribers? Exactly who plans on watching their forced E-sports?
Honestly, between the reception of Legion and Overwatch, and don't even get me started on Hearthstone, I think Blizzard's doing alright.

It's not trying to appeal to subscribers. It's trying to appeal to subscribers who might be interested in a 'pro' competition related to a game they enjoy.

I'm not one of those people, but I'm playing the shit out of D3 while I wait for the update to go live.

>Didn't it create it to begin with though?
No.
>Or in the very least it popularized it.
Yes.

And now turned it into a phone game, exactly what the nu-MMO playerbase wants.

neo/v/ thinks vanilla was a better game
people who actually played vanilla know it's a lie

>overwatch
>hearthstone
>heroes of the storm
and yet you complain about e-sports

Get a team of raiders. Give them the ability to pic any gear with a limited amount of gold (so top tier items cost X gold and so on) and make them build a team of raiders. Have them race to clear a dungeon of all bosses. The quickest raid group to do it is the winner. Have the teams do it at the same time on a split screen and switch to DPS, healers and tanks to give different views. Start with lower raids until two teams at in the 'hardest' raid.

There, I just e-sported your pve content. Also Blizz if you're reading this, give me some money, I just did work for you.

>make a massively multiplayer online role-playing game
>massively
>focus the pvp content and balance around 3 vs 3 and 5 vs 5 "arenas".
Beyond retarded.

Hey, you made me check, and I realized that the BNet launcher doesn't show that i have the game installed, which is weird because i saw it update the game like an hour ago. I already tried using the Locate thing but it says that the WoW folder doesn't contain the correct version. Any ideas as to why this happened?

That's because they were retarded 12yo and it was their first MMORPG, or, worse, they are parroting the vanilla meme.

That's almost what the mythic dungeon invitational is already though.

I miss Rekbombs pallys or Ctrl-Alt-Del shamans..

to destroy WoW

pretty much this

and this is coming from someone who was heavily invested in pvp from TBC until mop

The only thing I liked about vanilla was that raiding was worthwhile if you wanted to PvP. To do well in PvP, you either had to grind for months, multiple hours a day, to get High Warlord/Grand Marshal and hope that your fellow attempters slipped up or died IRL... Or you went into raids and got good gear. This gear was a major bonus and helped you fuck people over in PvP.

Along comes Arena and this changes. I was shit at PvP, but I was the first rogue on my server (Horde at any rate) to get full Season 2 Gear. It took me 3 weeks I think. I could then curbstomp even the best PvE equipped characters. Simply because Resilience and HP trumped everything. This meant if you wanted to rape in PvP, you did 3-6 weeks of Arena to get full Season gear, then you could fuck anybody up. You only did PvE so you could do.... more PvE. Every time Blizz added a PvE equip which made you better in arena, they removed it. I remember getting the Netherwing Drake pet thing that did like 500-700 damage per arcane missile and Blizz removed it from Arena within 2 weeks.

starcraft remastered MURDERED the starcraft 1 scene.. i know people say that "it's not that bad," but it killed off all of the good old korean private servers.. now we're fucking stuck with the lagfest that is battle net (where you still can't even whisper people).

i fucking hate nu-blizz

It was better, but not from a features perspective. It was a specific time and place that we will never be in again.

I sincerely hope this esport failure kills Blizzard. Fuck these evil fucks.
