It's because they're incapable of taking things slowly. DK64 is not a game where you can just run through each level and grab everything in a single run. You have to slow down, explore the worlds as each kong, use them together to open areas and access prizes.

I hate it because I never had a expansion pak so when I borrowed it from my friend i couldnt play it.

l hate it because of that pathetic grunt dk makes everytime he rolls that makes it sound like he's trying to pass kidney stones and the tasteless art and sound direction that gives the game an unsettling atmosphere reminiscent of meet the feebles

oh and the overall structure and progression system is complete shit too, l guess there's that

>everyone who disagrees is a pseudointellectual

it's a bloated, tedious collectathon disguised as a platformer. the sheer number of collectables cheapens their value and constant backtracking/swapping makes it a dull slog compared to BK.

it also had none of the fast, fluid gameplay that Donkey Kong was beloved for.

they dont like collecthatons and oh bananas

...

It's a game that's so repetitive that it probably infected kids with autism.

It feels like an unfinished tech demo yet it's full of tedious shit.
Which is really weird considering how perfect Banjo and Kazooie is in direct comparison.

You mean backtrack and retread the same shit at least 5 times, if not more because you can't get all of one kong's stuff in a single pass.

>Tfw Remaster where you can switch kongs at will never.

Is there a mod for emulation or something? That one mechanic of being able to change at will instead of having to go to the barrel every time would drastically improve the game.

I loved it when I was a kid. It's heavily padded and immensely tedious now though. Still, it's not without its charm.

>You have to slow down, explore the first 4 worlds as each kong, then skip the golden bananas in the last half of the worlds entirely
ftfy

because its a game with like 2x the scope of Banjo Kazooie yet way less refined and designed.

The Banjo games were made by Gregg Mayles. DK 64 and Yooka Laylee weren't.

sounds erotic desu youtube.com/watch?v=_CQoWJo3Wjc&

Overall the game has amazing level design and great gameplay mechanics

but the entire fun of the game is taken away with those god awful broken and unfinished bonus barrels. The game would've been fine without them but the damn beaver bother minigame, minecart bullshit, and all those other minigames ruin the experience entirely.

that sounds like a giant waste of fucking time

>but the entire fun of the game is taken away with those god awful broken and unfinished bonus barrels. The game would've been fine without them but the damn beaver bother minigame, minecart bullshit, and all those other minigames ruin the experience entirely.
lmao git gud

I 100% completed the game desu, it's not a matter of git gud it's a matter of the game being hot broken garbage

Music's great, everything has tons of personality, good characters, fantastic final boss.
The main part of the game is bad.

Yes, it's because of e-celebs and bandwagonning.
90% of the morons on Sup Forums who say this game sucks never played it.

DK64 was a great game. Not some 10/10 masterpiece, but it was fun the whole way through, and it was extremely long which was a good thing. Why buy a game you beat in 10 hours when DK64 would last you months? It was such a great value back then.

That's only if you're going for 100% completion, which is not necessary. You can beat the game with like 50% of the golden bananas. There's a ton of post-game content which is a good thing.

Banjo Tooie was just as valuable and it wasn't a complete shitshow.

So which e-celeb reviewer told you that DK64 is a "complete shit-show" ?

It is just a collection of minigames with an elaborate coat of paint.

That's about as bad as retards who defend grinding in JRPGs

The only mistake with DK 64 is that it doesnt have a sequel

Nobody, the lunatics that decided to split the collectibles between the characters need to be shot. Just Spreading them out so you can only reach them with some would have been enough there is literally no reason to make a full set of shit to collect for each one of them.
Who the fuck reviewed DK64 in recent times that got you so hooked on that idea?

And Besides that, Banjo Tooie lasted me for over a month too because it was also huge, hard and also cryptic at times, but when I got a note I got a note not 1/5 I would have to collect in an other color ten inches next to it with another monkey.

I didn't hate it I had a lot of fun on the multiplayer with friends but I preferred the snes dk country games and the banjo games for a single player game

It’s because you’re a stupid manchild that can’t accept that people have different opinions. Also Banjo Kazooie and Tooie are superior.
