I can't remember the titles, but it's 2 PC ports and some otome game. The NIS/Falcom partnership pretty much means that Falcom is done with Xseed.
First is English Detective Mysteria, second is Senran Kagura Burst Re:Newal according to comparisons made in the twitter comments. Don't know about the third.
2017 was not a kind year for XSeeD. Just about every release flopped.
Celceta PC apparently.
Legend of Heroes 2, fuck yeah, I love the first one.
Cant wait for Sakuna to release, hopefully it will be soon.
Considering the Falcom president had to make a worldwide announcement over the fumbling of Ys8. There might still be hope...if the silly gaijins are willing to outbid each other.
Jesus fucking christ can they just say straight up that they aren't getting CS3 already
Unlikely considering how NIS is porting Ys VIII to Switch and NISA is publishing it in the West. They'd have to kill the partnership very quickly.
NIS has a partnership with Falcom to do Switch ports and such so NISA will likely have first dibs on anything that Falcom does now.
Is Sakuna that farming game?
The Falcom president is a weird fellow HIS is pretty much switch's representative in Falcom affairs.
Rice farming/sidescrolling beatemup
Based NIS switch's saviour in the rpg realm.
All the good games are already out. Who cares about the others?
I'm sure their farming game release did well as always. People like their HM games.
Also Senran
I can't fucking wait to get Sakuna and plant some rice.
It's because Disgaea 5 on Switch reportedly outsold the PS4 version, so now they're investing a lot into it. They even said other Falcom games will be coming, so it should be interesting to see going forward, but also bad for XSEED since they'll certainly lose Trails too.
cold steel 3 fucking when
Who's more boneheaded in switch relations? Capcom or Falcom?
2019
>Disgaea 5 on Switch reportedly outsold the PS4 version
I haven't even bought that game yet on switch!
Cold Steel 5 will be out in Japan by then
so do I have to hope nisa is going to translate lloyd's game now?
There's no CS5, thankfully.
user, I...
You know damn well they're gonna do it
>NIS/Falcom partnership
>Falcom is done with XSeed
How can someone be so wrong?
There's no special partnership. Falcom isn't done with XSeed. Not when Tokyo Xanadu eX+ was picked up by Aksys and Zwei 1 was picked up by XSeed both fairly recently. Ys 8 was nothing more than a case of NISA giving Falcom a more desirable offer to publish it than other publishers. Same goes for Aksys and Tokyo Xanadu. Unless you know something I don't.
CS4 is literally titled "The End of Saga". What more evidence do you need?
LET ME BUY SAKUNA ALREADY DAMN IT
LOCALIZE CS3 FASTER, FUCK. You'd think they'd have more time for it when Nisa and Aksys are busy tripping over the other Falcom properties.
...
...
...
It's been out for a while now senpai and 4 got announced
Cold Steel 3 came out in september.
My bad
The End of Saga: Part 9. This is Falcom we're talking about.
I get they're slow but some kind of "hey it's coming but not for a year; we won't just drop you in the middle of a cliffhanger" would be nice
Where is my Rune Factory 5?
teasing has to be the most annoying marketing term of all time.
Fucking never.
Think they're referring to the interview here:
nippon1.jp
Google Translate gives this:
>I am extremely happy to have announced a collaborative project with Mr. Falcom. Of course not only for Ys fans, Falcom's fans, Nintendo's fans, for everyone, we would like to expand not only "Ys VIII" but also other titles.
That is the NISA president under the "Message to Everyone" section of the interview.
Because he is very good friends with the president at Falcom, he seems to be saying "Expect more non-Ys Falcom titles from us in the future."
>still no PBS on PC
FUCK XSEED, move you asses
I'm sure they're very close with NISA after they fucked up so bad Falcom had to force them to do a new translation
What's that supposed to mean? Cold Steel is an anomaly for Falcom, not the norm. Most of their games aren't plot-dumpy JRPGs.
I still haven't play CSII
Yo where the fuck is the PC port
See which just came out a few days ago.
Assuming Ys VIII sells as well as Disgaea 5, I'm pretty sure that it'll be water under the bridge.
I don't know if this is true or not, but I heard one of the reasons why Falcom agreed to let NISA localize Ys8 was because they wanted the PC version out at the same time as PS4 on the west.
If that's true, NISA's major fuck up will probably get them blacklisted by Falcom, and they'll go for either Aksys Games or Xseed.
Rumor is that pissed off NIS's president enough that he is having NISA gutted and they'll be reborn as NIS International at their next press event.
I see
That's a horrifying statement. Still, that's fair and I stand corrected.
I'm hoping it might just mean they're working on a game together or something. NIS isn't unknown to collaborative projects with other companies (Grim Grimoire, Trinity Universe).
Q1 2018 :^). XSeed was too busy recording new lines for CSII to release it earlier.
Pisses me off since im just going to undub it anyways.
Go play the Crossbell games first, then play CS2.
Where the fuck is Extella Link damn it
Given the fact that he's the current head of NIS America (as he states in the interview), and the general discussion about why Falcom doesn't bring over their games on their own in the same interview, I'd say it has more to do with vocalizations and ports than new projects.
I don't care if about Falcom that much but I would love to see NISA be gutted so I'm fucking down.
XKEK can go fuck themselves.
You have any kind of a source for those rumors? Because that'd be great if true, but I'm not getting my hopes up
Also, in case you wanted to read the interview with google translate:
What did they do to hurt you?
The only real faults I ever see with them is their inability to acquire Japanese voice track rights for older Falcom games.
Why? They are not connected
I don't know why anyone gives a shit about this game or why it's even getting localised. It looks like shit.
This year we'll finall get Ao and Zero fan translations, I'm on the middle of Cold Steel 2, I'm fucking hyped.
Btw, couldn't XSeeD buy the fan translations of Ao and Zero and just make an editing pass? I'd buy it.
It's by the same devs as Fairy Bloom Freesia and that has its fans.
Something nisa the not very bright managed to do immediatly seemingly without any effort.
Next one in Calvard with Yun Ka Fai finally.
XSEED rarely have Japanese audio for anything that isn't Senran Kagura, the vast, vast majority of their catalogue is dub-only.
Also their localisations are liberal as fuck.
That's because Freesia was actually a great game. Sakuna's combat doesn't look anywhere near as good, and the rice planting just looks tedious as fuck.
>losing a massive, dialogue-heavy game to the inept retards at NISA
I doubt NISA wants it, or will do anything with it at least. They can't google translate it and then introduce CPU-melting bugs like a normal quality NIS shitport
>Why? They are not connected
Are you dumb or just baiting?
>Aksys starts getting more Falcom games
H E double toothpicks yeah
>It's because Disgaea 5 on Switch reportedly outsold the PS4 version
Which is likely because the Switch version includes all the DLC, whereas the DLC on the PS4 version is double the cost of the game itself.
twitter.com
Seeing how they localize to stroke their ego more than to make money I highly doubt it.
I can hardly imagine how someone can take such pride in editing the work of other people but hey, to each his own.
Nevermind the fact that having the experience on the go translates to easy sales for the Japanese market.
>That's because Freesia was actually a great game.
I agree, which is why I'm at least interested in playing Sakuna. I'm not saying it'll be GOTY, but I'm gonna try it still. The farming does seem like it'll be tedious, so I hope it's quick and painless and maybe somehow a fun mini-game.
How strong is Aurelia? Stronger than Ein or Arianrhod?
She sure is strong on my dick
Shes like the only trails fanatic in xseed
It looks exactly the same as Freesia you retard
I haven't played the TLs yet but aren't they incredibly rough and possibly an MTL? Xseed'll probably do it from scratch for consistency if they were actually doing those games.
NISA aquired a new Falcom game though. As did Aksys. What makes you think the licensing contracts for the seiyuu involved function the same way between titles?
>XSEED rarely have Japanese audio for anything that isn't Senran Kagura
Akiba's Beat
Corpse Party
Fate/Extella
Nitroplus Blasterz: Heroines Infinite Duel
>rarely
Good job, you listed a few games they have Japanese audio for. That does not stop the vast majority of their games being dub-only, as I said.
>Sen 4 soon
>We still won't get Sen 3 by then
well I couldn't believe I played a japanese game with benis speak so I'm inclined to think good editing is pretty nice, and I think anyone whose played Ys 8 in English would probably agree. Damn shame the company she apparently works for is full of idiots who think some shitty fan-service game that even Japan doesn't want should get their biggest dub project ever.
>Akiba's Beat
What a shitshow their attempt at dubbing this was, and they were very serious about it and honestly tought they were doing a good job lmao
They are porting the cold steel games to ps4 and switch.
>Waaaaaah, why doesn't anyone appreciate our good localisations, why do people bitch at us for our localisations T_T
Shit like this is why, Brittany "Ask for Japanese voices on Twitter and I'll throw my account in the shitter" Avery.
>whereas the DLC on the PS4 version is double the cost of the game itself.
What in the hell?
When will the good localization meme stop so we can finally get in the good translation era?
>NISA fuck up Ys 8's script
>Apologise, retranslate the whole game, and redub all of it too
>XSEED fuck up a bunch of names in Akiba's Beat because they didn't bother confirming the kanji readings with the Japanese team
>Don't fix anything, even though they'd only need to redub maybe 100 lines at most
Welcome to NIS, they've been doing that since Disgaea 3. They are one of the worst offenders of on-disc DLC jewing in the entire video games industry.
All those games were relative releases and were excluding Senran Kagura which would add to their roster of games containing Japanese audio. Its hardly a "most".
XSeed doesn't publish very many games in a year to begin with. 90% of the time if its not dual audio/Japanese only, its a release for an older Falcom title which supposedly is impossible to get Japanese voice acting for anyways.
>Xseed is shit
>Fatlus is shit
>Nisa is shit
>Square is shit
>Nintendo is shit
Seriously what good groups are there to bring nip games to the west?
Google translation
The only shit company you listed is NISA.
And Nintendo isn't the problem, its Nintendo of America.
>porting the cold steel games to ps4 and switch.
I want Trails in the sky first!
Not cold steel!
>B-but I added some spice to it, what you want a machine translation!?!?!
>All those games were relative releases
Relative to what?
>Its hardly a "most".
Do you know what "most" means? It means that there are more of X than there are of Y. There are more XSEED games that are dub-only than there are games that retain the Japanese audio. Hence, most.
>Announce RF5
>3DS only
Any RF announcement at all is a great miracle in my eyes, but I do have preferences, and my preference is for the 3DS to be put to rest.
>Zwei 1 comes out like next week
>They just announce it out of the fucking blue
Xseed's always gotta follow tradition.
Fuck off idiot, NoE are shit too, you just don't care about the big dump they took on XB2's script because they didn't cover up Pyra's titties.
