It's amazing how deep the corporate dick is in some people

...

What a faggy page. Where is that even from?

I hate people who try to act like they're informing you of shit, when half of it is just their opinions.

It's right from Nintendo's website if I recall.

...

>How it'll affect the Switch's life and sales, however, remains to be seen.
>remains to be seen.
I feel like i've watched this episode before, and it's on constant repeat.

Noooo Noooo not my switchy witchy how can they do this not my switchy witchy! reeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

No, because then I can't play my degenerate eroge games from the 90's.

Top cringe

AAAAAAAHHHH WHY CANT WE JUST HAVE FUN
SINCE WHEN IS VIDEO GAMES ABOUT CORPORATE MONEY MAKING SHIT

>tfw I was emulating pokémon almost at american release time and playing Gold next to its launch on no$gmb back on the day
kids don't know jack shit about hurting sales

>emulate pokemon games
>gamefreak still makes shitloads of money selling rehashed shit
so much for muh piracy is hurting le sales huh

Never. Emulation should be left alone and allowed to continue or even be helped by companies for the reason of preservation. You're never gonna bring every game to a virtual console type of system. Licences and shit basically stop that, and I don't think we should just lose those games to the sands of time

>PS3 emulator is released. Not a peep of protest from Sony fans.

>News of a Switch emulator being worked on. Nintenfags literally lose their shit.

Tell me again how the Sony fans are the most cancerous fanbase.

only reason why I'm kinda miffed about this shit is we still don't have working OG Xbox emulation yet and PS2 emulation isn't really up to snuff yet

PS3 is a decade-old system, not really a fair comparison

I just got myself a raspberry pi and put every single nintendo game upto the gba library on it.

get rekt nintendo

>whole point of switch is it's portable console
>basically comprised of ports of console games right now
>emulator and piracy will kill off third party support

i mean, i want to play xenoblade chronicles 2 in a not shitty resolution as much as the next guy, but this is way too early.

I don't have an issue with emulation, but making an emulator this early into a console's life leaves a bad taste in my mouth. Wouldn't this deter smaller developers and make the Switch go the same way as the Wii U?

that was my point though, sorry for not being clear. I need some sleep

yeah really, if you want to support something - pay for it. if not, oh well who cares about what others are doing. unless its literally getting games cancelled or consoles stop being made, bug off

Emulators will eventually become the only way to play (and thus preserve) old games.

>Oh no, a Switch Emulator is on the way!
>2 years later, can maybe boot a tech demo
>2 years after that, boots up commercial games at 5fps with no audio
>2 years after that, can finally play some of the most popular first year games from start to finish at 25fps
>2 years after that, the switch is dead, emulator can play maybe 80% of the library
All this shit over fucking nothing.

like every emulator ever made it will take years to be in a playable state, I don't see why people are so alarmed.

You can still play NES games on original hardware. Emulators should not be allowed to be released until 2 console generations pass.

Woolieshutthefuckup.webm

OH NONONONONONONONONONO

...

If you're lucky, my NES bit the dust years ago and I wasn't really touching it much. Of course I could try fixing it but even then corrosion and mechanical wear will inevitably win some day. On the other hand emulators can be distributed and preserved very easily.

Hindering the development of emulators is retarded in my opinion.

Sauce

Nowadays emulators are killing the industry, but It's totally ok for the console to get hacked, though.

my thoughts exactly
don't put the scene in jeopardy

Show me numbers mate.

> This handheld can't do 4K so it's got shit resolution

What an argument

>Nowadays emulators are killing the industry

Are all consolefags retarded?

As long as you dump the roms yourself using a copy of the game you own, it's perfectly legal.

Gotta laugh at how retards, peasants, and corporate slaves are too stupid to realize that.

When the ps3 emulator came out the ps3 was already irrelevant for years as the PS4 took its place. Meanwhile the Switch Emulator already got announced in its launchyear.

YU-NO: A Girl Who Chants Love at the Bound of this World
If you want to unlock all routes/true ending and all that shit you might want to follow a guide

Nintendo fans are just especially defensive and paranoiac.

As someone who is a buyfag(collector,) I think Emulators are fucking mandatory. 1) They need to exist so people can play old games when they're no longer supported by the developer 2) They need to exist so people can fan translate games that were not brought here

It took cemu a year and half to make some games playable. I imagine it will be the same case for the Switch emulator aswell. Maybe faster considering its opensource.

What if the ROM you download is from a game which can only be bought from people who already bought the game? It doesn't hurt the IP owner.

Emulation isn't piracy, the code used by these guys is completely their own, they don't take anything that the company owns, how you get your roms/bios is completely down to you, it's totally plausbile to grab the bios off your ps2 and put your totally legitimate copy of ratchet and clank in your pc and play it, this is like banning all torrents, it's fucking ridiculous, in addition, as far as i can tell this shit isn't even functional.

You can't make an emulator illegal they don't have any copyrighted content

Also good luck finding it, it's notoriously hard to find without getting a broken link or a file that actually works with any PC9801 emulator.

>it's notoriously hard to find without getting a broken link or a file that actually works with any PC9801 emulator.
Wait, really? Never had any trouble downloading/patching the game

>implying the wii lost
the only fuck up nintendo's made is with the wii u, 3ds was a sleeper hit and the switch is selling gangbusters

>emulators should be banned!
>*proceeds to buy badly emulated 20 year old games on his console of choice at the low price of 10 dollars*

*because I said so

How long ago did you download it? It's become more difficult to find recently.

I was trying to find it again last week because my old computer shit the bed, and it was not as easy to find a working file as it was like 2 years ago.

Aren't operating systems copyrighted?

About 6 months ago iirc, I think it was on erogedownload

>The team behind Citra

FUCK. Maybe they should make their own piece of shit work for more than 20% of 3ds games before they start another half-assed project.

I just want to play smt4 and mh4u on my god damn pc, 3ds hinge broke.

We must do something guys, something to protect nintendo from people who wouldn't have bought our based tablet anyway. It doesn't matter how few they are, nobody should fucking dare to even only imagine think to hamper our nintendomination.
Prepare your hyrule swords and gliders, we are going to hunt down those fuckers.

Yeah thats why bios is dl'ed seperate

Um, because the law says so, sweetie.
You should be lucky that anti-piracy laws are hard to enforce, but once we finally have proper surveillance on every electronic device we can easily root out criminals like you.

Depends. You can go a few ways with this:

1. If the game isnt being sold anymore, even through a digital storefront, then buy the game used and then dump that.

2. If the game is on a digital storefront, like the Virtual console or Steam, buy it there, and if the game includes a built-in emulator, then grab the rom.

3. Just download the ROM. This should only be your last resort.

Yes, which is why emulators either get away by either bypassing the need of an "OS" or asking users to dump it themselves.

they also need to exist because some arcade games were never ported to consoles and probably never will

You can play smt4 on it you dumb memester.

> "Corporate money"
You mean people getting payed for their job you fucking commie

At current sales rates the Switch is on mark to a bit behind Wii but still trending with it. That's insane sales numbers. Wasn't Dolphin also around at that time? The Switch is a literal piece of 2013 tech that's being sold a premium and the peripherals are insane.

Nintendo is making money hand over fist. An emulator only hurts their profits in places like Brazil and Russia. Sure, Americans and Europeans will pirate but it's not this rash of insanity. The console is selling very well.

You can't take switch emulator to work or a trip, so im fine with it.

>buy it used
why? isnt the whole point that the devs should be getting the money? otherwise what are these laws there for?

yeah at half speed and stuttery audio. Fuck that shit. My CPU goes to 4.1 which should be good fucking enough.

>what are laptops

>then buy the game used and then dump that.
Why? I'm not paying an artificially high price for a game which was released more than a decade ago with only 10k copies available.

>2.
Fair but often not worth the trouble. Most digital stores merely rent the game to you under their own conditions which is different from when the game was physically available.

>You can't take switch emulator to work

AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH NONONONONONONONONONONONNONONONONONO

That one I remember, and I never got that one to work. I also hated the 3 part, 120 second wait, 6 minute between download share site they used.

I ended up using the Mofumoe torrent after searching around a bunch, which made it run even without an emulator, which was very nice.

Not really, check some recent videos.

>Guys didn't we all agree that we only emulate consoles after a few years of them being on the market?

Meanwhile every PC release is cracked and leaked by the release date.

Cemu went from not booting shit to playing Bayo2 and BOTW in 4K/60FPS with zero bugs in 3 and a half years.

They legally have the right to do so

>My CPU goes to 4.1 which should be good fucking enough
>Inb4 i have an AMD CPU

>tfw working security nightjob emulating ps2 games all night on my laptop and making a round every hour
Best job in the world

>gaming
>laptop
choose one dude

I think this is a little too optimistic.

Can Cemu even really play BotW without notable differences at a decent frame rate now?

>haha sony got BTFO by the dreamcast emulator guys!!
>WTF if sony won nintendo wouldn't be emulated every single gen!

Calm down tardo. Things won't be in a good enough playable state until 2021 at the very earliest. The only reason CEMU made as much process as it did because the guys working on it somehow obtained source code. PS3 emulator finally got more than 3 playable games and it took a decade. N64/PS2 emulator is still half-fucked, and 3DS still got a long ways to go to not be a buggy piece of shit.

I really hope it's a ruse and nobody this retarded over fucking roms exists in real life.

Perfectly fine for emulating seeing as you dont need a giant overpowered GPU to emulate games just a good cpu which are small.

Depending on the licensing of the emulator, yes.
Its also pretty common that the company will hire the devs to acquire the code, or purchase a special license that lets them do things that are usually barred by the terms of the license.

How do you get in on a security job? I'll take anything at this point and I hear security pays decently well

Morally speaking, i believe it's perfectly fine to emulate games you already own, especially if the console is discontinued. That being said, i dont typically emulate games from the gamecube era and on only because they never seem to run as well as the original hardware.

Yes, it runs surprisingly well and looks better since it's higher resolution and can be patched for 60fps.

Assassin's Creed Origins is still not cracked. Same goes for some other games of recent that use the newest version of Denuvo.

Dude, you are completely out of touch. Now even toasters can play it at 30 fps and mid ring can play it at 60 fps.
Yes, obviously you need to configure it properly.

Works fine for me all the time.

>70 years later and still mad about reds
chill, comrade

>popular 3ds emulator citra
really?

Even CEMU require powerfull rig. Switch emulator will be far more demanding.

Nintendo doesn't even sells anything officially in Brazil anymore

This. Nintendo only has themselves to blame for paying for Bleem's lawyers.

>Switch emulator will be far more demanding.
It's literally a portable WiiU. maybe 5% more powerful.

Not botw for sure, I'm playing it at 30 fps on my crappy laptop.

Citra devs are white and based

what part of "the CEMU devs have source code" do you not understand? Yuzu is made by the same dudes who are working on Citra, and Citra barely functions as is, and it's been around longer than CEMU. What makes you think they'll have source code to the Switch when they can't even get the source code to the 3DS?
