What really ruined it is not making the online content available in single player, like heists and shit.

GTAV was garbage but GTAO just exacerbated the problem

I just think about everything GTA V could have been....

Imagine if they tried to make a storyline as appealing as GTA IV's, but making it a bit less repetitive, which I think was GTA IV's biggest fault.

They could have made several games, like TBOGT or TLAD. One game focused on gang world, with a protagonist like Franklin but more interesting, or maybe even a Chicano protagonist. That would be more like the original GTA IV, trying to be realistic. The city could have been much bigger too, with more neigborhoods, and less empty space in the countryside.

Then a different title set around a character like Trevor, more extreme, set mostly in the countryside, featuring all the rednecks and shit...

But no, they wasted all that potential.

GTAIV is an auteur game, they did what they want.

GTAV is an blockbuster game, they did what general people wanted.

I wish they made the heists single player instead of pugging with another moron.

These heists are pretty good desu.

That's basically Saint Rows with a bigger budget

I can get heists kind of, but ever since that one update with the Gullwing Benz rip off not putting the cars and planes and shit in SP is fucked.

It made SP worse because of cutting off content for MP only. Still, I liked both.

I wish there had been more Cliffford and less Lester. Fucking christ I swear Lester had more dialog in those three acts than he has in the entirety of pre-doomsday content.

It was retitled Ballistics equipment and is available in freeroam. But it's behind several layers of grindwalls and on top of that, it auto-removes if anyone starts organization work so it's absolutely useless.

i know, the fact that they added it in GTAO but still isnt available in singleplayer is an even bigger slap to the face

they did in last gen but got super greedy.

These are all pretty minor issues

take 2 has already announced every future game they publish will have cash shops. its confirmed. its only going to get worse.

a car with unique powerful mounted machineguns, that can drop spikes and eject people from the seat, all things which nothing else in the game can do, is a major mechanic
a bombproof suit that slows down your movement but massively increases your bullet resistance is a major mechanic

and neither of them being available outside their mission is fucking stupid and undefendable

it has weak armor and will start smoking after like 3 seconds of sustained gunfire from the police helicopter (and the way helicopter damage in 5 is scripted, is that once the engine starts smoking it will intermittently cut off and after 1 minute it will stop working completely, another stupid fucking no fun mechanic that exists for no reason)

and its weaponry is shit too, the miniguns are so weak that it literally takes over 4 seconds of continuous fire to blow up a CAR, they dont even kill pedestrians in one hit, theyre literally only good for shooting out the tail rotors on police helicopters
and the missiles are shit too, limited to 2 before a painfully slow 2-3 second reload, while also having a very small blast radius. why? the Buzzard in TBoGT had powerful machineguns on top of infinite missiles with no cooldown. as did the Hunter in SA

and the final nail in the coffin for this garbage heli is the shitty handling. it autobalances so it cant even aim directly down at a 90 degree angle like the Hunter

also, were talking about singleplayer, the hind is Online only, and while its better in the weapons department it STILL has weak armor and also goes down after just 2 or 3 seconds of gunfire from the cops
meanwhile the Hunter was a fucking flying tank, proper fun
