Why not? What's another 5+ kills when you have a 25 kill streak?
>pvp game rewards you for doing well and penalizes you for doing bad
How the fuck is this okay?
If you killed 25 people (out of a 6 man team) without dying, the other team deserves to lose
Getting a 25 kill streak uninterrupted means that your team, or you if it's free for all, were probably going to win anyways and that the enemy team was being stomped on
This, they should have kept this in but made it so only kills with weapons counted towards it and not scorestreaks.
Nah, there's been times when some guy hiding in some corner somewhere manages to rack up 25 uninterrupted kills in a close game. Especially back in the older games where it was possible to be completely hidden form UAV and have no names when being targeted and have a silenced loadout.
it's just a mercy kill
i fucking loved this, popping nuke on noobs, shame they removed it in mw3
Didn't the killcam show you where you got killed from? So they'd have to keep moving anyway?
But CoD had deathstreaks
Not sure if you're aware but a tac nuke in MW2 was literally a "Your team wins, their team loses" and ended the game 10 seconds after being used
Generally this but you have to applaud the way a nuke rubs it in
Actually in cod4 you got a tac nuke off of a AC-130 99% of the time.
Idk man. You can only get 7 kills and just let the harrier ai and take care of the rest
>game rewards you for doing bad
Even worse.
Getting 25 kills might be a fluke or luck and shuts down any chance of a turn around.
Someone on the other team could also have a large streak but gets an auto loss because someone else got it first.
Its in WW2 as well, got one, didnt end the game.
Fuck MW2 and the brainlets who think it is better than MW1.
MW2 = air support. the game.
>reach highest killstreak
>with kills from perk get to get the earlier perks all over again
>get 2 ac130s in one life
fuck this shit. in MW1 once you get the chopper, that’s it. no more for you after that. which makes it an actual shooting game, and not an air support game.
>Not sure if you're aware but a tac nuke in MW2 was literally a "Your team wins, their team loses" and ended the game 10 seconds after being used
But that's what I'm saying. The games been called by the time you have a 24 kill streak. 25+nuke is, as you said, a means of rubbing it in.
Man i loved mw2
And yeah a mercy rule is good to have
A team-based game where it's possible for a player to get 25 kills without dying probably has bigger problems than an "I win" button
Dark Souls 3 has R1
CoD4?
AC130?
You better be talking about the HD remaster. Because this wasn’t in CoD4.
Yeah, but it's usually the guys that keep going back to him that dies and keeps the feed going because there's only a single way to approach him and he's got that spot covered. Usually, I just leave those guys alone and they'll end up with 12-0 or something, but it's the shitters who keep trying to get that one kill that keeps the feed going.
Maybe when the game was just released. Literally everyone became an air support killing monster after a while out of necessity.
It's really just getting 7 kills and then the harrier gets you another 4 and the chopper gunner gets you like 20 because it's sitting on the enemy spawn point.
Many people skip the killcam, and if I remember it doesn't show on Hardcore mode.
I loved it because i always got the nukes in my party. Getting in that ac130 was so much fun.
This was the least of MW2's concerns tbqh
How?
>air support imba
I don't know why more people didn't have a dedicated Anti-Air loadout. Oh shit, some sweaty tryhard just got harriers
>frag/semtex yourself
>switch to AA
>typically a stinger/javelin with cold blood
>take out the air
>kill self and switch back
But I'm a support cuck who ran 3/4/5 and always killed myself to keep UAV/CUAV active
Sorry I haven't COD in awhile I forgot which one it was.
*chucks grenade
>nothin personnel
Are the player spawns still fucked in MW1 Remastered?
Is this Overwatch thread?
Nah because there was no way to destroy air streaks in MW unless you had a dedicated anti-streak class, and even then it was only 50/50 with all the shit happening. At least in MW2, you could destroy airstreaks reliably with launchers and had a chance of fighting back.
I hated you but I've got double nuke on dom with 3/airdrop?/25 once and plenty of 3/4/25s in ffa and tdm.
As if you could get that close. Also, its not a 1v1. Chances are you'll end up in a shootout before getting to the camper and give away that you're coming.
I liked using emp even if it was kinda shit. Maybe if it lasted a long fuckin time
>As if you could get that close.
I have
>Chances are you'll end up in a shootout before getting to the camper and give away that you're coming.
That, too. It was enough for me to kill the smug bastards. I didn't mind dying immediately after.
EMP was essentially just the choice for KDR kiddies. It allowed you to get more kills instead of instantly ending the game, and you still got to rub your absolute victory into your opponents faces.
I tended to use emp along with a lock on rocket agaisnt teams that stomped mine and would get alot of killstreaks. Thats right I'm the 1 in a million players who actually makes some kind of support class to help the team out.
In MW2 team deathmatch ends after like 75 kills and it's like 6v6 teams
If ONE PLAYER gets 25 kills in a row faster than the ENTIRE REST OF THE TEAM can get 50 kills, there is no way their team is going to lose.
its mw2 or cod5 for autists
>Have the game of my life, get a nuke just running around with the SCAR getting super lucky
>Dude comes on mic "Wow, what kind of loser gets a nuke in team deathmatch?"
>Other person joins in "Probably some virgin no-life faggot, whatever"
ITS NOT FUCKING FAIR, THIS WAS SUPPOSED TO BE MY MOMENT
Just a care package filler, at least it was kinda cool when it came up occasionally
>scar
I will never understand you people.
In my hundreds of hours of playing, I've seen people with 30-40 kills lose plenty of games because they were paired with 3 or 4 feeding idiots. Nuke can be considered a waste of a KS slot, but I've seen a handful of games where the MVP on the other team wishes he had it (though again, most people I played with who did get 25+ kills usually only got that many because they *didn't* pick nuke and just ran 5/7/AC or Chopper)
The rpg could take out the chopper. A full box of m249saw ammo can take one down too.
They did with moabs in MW3 which were a hidden killstreak and the v2 rocket in ww2 which is also a hidden killstreak.
spas 12, rpg shitter here. eat shit
cod 5 was world at war retard.
You can be the best player on a shit team that's losing, get it and win.
True.
MW2 was pure kino in every way, so it was hardly an issue.
Intense and untreatable autism.
Nukes have won me plenty of games as the losing side in Domination
When are they going to kill cod and male something new? The series lately has been mediocre at best and it panders to the lowest of the low so much that even the shittiest players can get matches where they go like 15/0. Even the cod ww2 boots on the ground schlick just feels like a copy paste of advanced warfare and the later games minus the exo suits
found the autist
Then it looks like that team isn't so shit, then ,'8^)
MW2 = Singer Missile kills everything from UAVs to AC-130s
COD4 = can't do shit once they have UAV, go into hiding while a helicopter is out because the RPG7 is a joke and veers off target like a deflating balloon
If you've ever cried about someone using an Attack Helicopter, then you were probably too much of a bitch to take out a Stinger and stop his Harrier in advance.
Put down the Stopping Power and shotguns and you'll find that gasp, shit's actually fucking balanced around you being really fucking strong if you go with Stopping Power, but that OP Perk has a major Achilles Heel in the form of Killstreaks (because nothing on the ground beats Stopping Power, it's a real shame they got rid of Juggernaut which wasn't as strong but was coded to directly cancel out SP).
Run with a not as powerful anti-infantry loadout but more versatile class like Cold-Blooded+Assault Rifle+Stinger, get gud at playing the game at its intended damage values while also making the glass cannons in the sky free points for you and a major benefit for your team.
Not until people stop buying it. The actual CoD4 and MW2 developers got fucking fired after 2 released and made Titanfall. Nu-CoD is and has essentially been a chinese rip off for a while now. The only developer that's even put effort into them since then was Treyarch, and all they did was fuck up everything that made those two games fun by listening to retards.
>tfw never could get a 25 kill streak for this
Never. Activision will run its three B-Teams ragged until COD stops being a million-seller.
Play Titanfall, the game made by the original COD devs.
This is why Nukes were the shit. You know what happened of my team was made up of retards? It didn't mean shit to me. Because I knew I could win it all for myself, and there's no better feeling. Especially these days when every game is e-sports bullshit where feeding teammates ruin everything.
Soon, I'd imagine. CoD will likely never reach the peak popularity it had back when MW2 was new ever again. Personally, I blame the majority of post-MW2 games and how they turned CoD into the most widely hated franchise in recent memory.
I loved MW2's killstreaks, but I feel BO2 had more fun killstreaks.
>I run VSAT EMP and Swarm
>my friend has VSAT EMP and Dogs
>on hardpoint
Most fun I've ever had in CoD right there
Marathon+lightweight+ninja with ump for s&d any map rush spawn and can clean up a few rounds. Also just really versatile
Isn't MW2 partially to blame for that due to forcing matchmaking on PC? That was basically a death sentence right there.
>Nah because there was no way to destroy air streaks in MW unless you had a dedicated anti-streak class
I bet you never tried hopping on the mounted turrets in each level. They felt like they were designed to kill a chopper in 5 seconds, because they were far more effective at it than killing infantry.
big fucking deal when one of the easiest ways to get it is camping with an inifinite amount of grenade launchers.
If it were completely skill based, sure. but mw2 was broken as tits and if anything the tac nuke is a sentiment to how retarded the game was
MW2 implemented killstreaks in a better way though. Where they stacked rather than getting replaced.
In MW1 you would have a scenario where you have the 5 kill bombing run killstreak and you have to deliberately avoid killing people so you can use it before you get a heli. Because only one heli could be up at a time, and bombing runs were great. Often I would deliberately get myself killed so that when I did the bombing run I might get 5 kills and get another one. So I could keep chaining them. But if you got a heli and another was already up, you were fucked.
>nukeboosting with friend in a far off hidden corner of the map using one man army and the spawn flare
problem?
The SCAR was so good. My "fuck you I'm getting a nuke" class was a silenced SCAR.
yeah but that's one gamemode where getting kill is the objective. being able to get nukes in domination/demolition/headquarters is retarded cause you can play like a faggot with 0 strategy and get a nuke
>not knowing it was called tactical insertion
confirmed for having no cod friends
>killing the other MG nest in backlot
oh yiss
My favorite game times to this day were when the Xbox 360 Servers for MW2 just got fucking hacked and every match in Ground War was Rust domination or some shit to infinite score. Every game ended with a nuke it was incredible. I got so much XP, so many nukes, it was constant mayhem for weeks and I loved every second of it.
Yeah, but aiming with the RPG sucked ass and you were more likely to get shot before actually unloading enough into a chopper to bring it down.
It was most popular on consoles, so outside of places like Sup Forums, it didn't mean shit.
The reason that it's cool to hate CoD nowadays is because of years upon years of game critics, analysts and regular players claiming that it was the worst thing ever. This was largely a reactionary response to the fact that every game was trying to copy it so it could become a CoD-killer.
The problem with this however is that all the screeching made against the series over the years has caused people to over look the genuine merits the series has and also to exaggerate the series' problems.
Give it a few years, and you'll see open world games be reviled in the same way that modern military shooters are now.
i loved how one guy could just decide "everyone in this lobby is now 10th prestige with everything unlocked" and just make it so. Or fucking with the gravity so everyone was super fast/jump fucking sky scrapers
absolute power corrupts absolutely
MW2, as much as I love it, was an unbalanced nonsensical mess, and if it came out today it would be widely hated and considered another waste of the CoD brand. Also, it is not even in the top 5 best selling CoDs, if that is a metric for popularity. Really, Black Ops or Black Ops 2 should be what devs look at, because those are the best balanced in the series.
Hunting down boosters in FFA was really fun. I got so much hatemail from asshurt people that I followed after they inevitably left the game.
You do realize that killstreaks didn't reset in MW2 right? You only got 1 AC130 or Chopper Gunner per life idiot.
>Akimbo 1887's
>Riot Shield + Throwing Knife

>Hacked lobbys giving out every callsign/emblem
>UMP-45 Silencer w Cold Blooded
>Literally zero recoil ACR
>Spas-12 Sniper Shotgun
>that one shotgun that could shoot all rounds in a atto-second
>the Javelin Suicide Glitch
I'd like their next setting to be fantasy based. Can you imagine it? It'd be like Call of Duty, except with a fantasy skin on it. I really thought Infinite Warfare was going to be hub-based and choose a mission story style instead of a linear campaign. Can you imagine it? Like there's a mission to sabotage an enemy factory, or a mission to secure an enemy cache. If you do the former, enemies during a next mission will have weaker weapons and equipment, while if you do the latter, you get better equipment for your next mission. Something like that would be a nice change of pace for a campaign, and allow for multiple endings.
>the Javelin Suicide Glitch
Way too much fun. That and running around at mach 5 with a care package marker out.
>you will never run into a spawn of 4 guys just to have them all decimated by a javelin when they kill you
javelin glitch was the absolute GOAT exploit
Is MW2A ALOVE ON Pc?
>he didn't have a dedicated Stinger class with Cold-blooded
It's like you want to lose
i wish this game had private servers. i want to BTFO you faggots with my based G-18 akimbos
>Not until people stop buying it.
Are people still buying it though? It doesn't seem as big of a deal as it was during the MW2-BO days.
Fuck off. The only part of MW2 that was too good were infinite grenade launchers, and actually doing well with those was occasionally luck based due to the low rate of fire. Black Ops fucking ruined the balance that MW2 had created. Every playstyle and every weapon type was viable in MW2, in black ops, and every cod released after it, you use an assault rifle, or an smg, or you don't fucking play the game. No other weapon type is actually viable because they all got downgraded so heavily. The other three could still be used in camping, but they were thoroughly situational garbage in comparison to what they were in MW2, and if I remember right Black Ops actually removed even more variety by removing the riot shield.
Why?
If its 25 -0 and its to 75 it's not a guarantee you were going to win.
>calls others tryhards
>post his tryhard strategy
COD Points were a great idea though, since it allowed you to get what you want with minimal grinding.
BO2 has the best multiplayer in the series though.
It would also be the best game in the series if MW2 didn't have Spec Ops mode and better writing.
You can if it is Domination
>not using the Stoner63 with Extended Mags and Hardened on BO1
>not using the Spas12 Suppressed with Steady Aim on BO1
No. BO1 certainly slowed the pace of the game down compared to MW2's wacky bullshit, but it by no means nerfed playstyles. You're just shit at the game. The only thing the devs did that shit up the game was that they removed Stopping Power which meant faggots only use the most OP guns. When a CoD game has Stopping Power every gun becomes a 2-3 shot kill which means GUN DIVERSITY. Without stopping power faggots will flock to the strongest guns. Which is why most of the games after MW2 were shit. Just look at AW, IW, WW2, MW3 and even BO3.
And you can upgrade the I Win button.
I'm still angry about MW2. CoD4 was fucking great, WaW was legit, and then MW2 comes along and shits up the series.
SOMEONE ELSE REMEMBERS
oh man my negro, it was the pinnacle of fun. and the fully automatic ac-130s? Jesus Christ you have not known fear until you've spawned in a shipping crate and hear the nightmarish cacophony of 14,000 of those gigantic shells firing from that gigantic cannon in the sky to baleet everyone on the map.
