Nintendo Switch Sold More Consoles Than Any Other Platform in History on a Time-Aligned Basis
>SO DON'T YOU DARE INSULT MY TOY!!!
Holy...
What's up with Switch headlines about selling the best under very specific limitations?
I mean at the beginning it was
>best selling Nintendo console on launch
Or something stupid like that
PS4 still sold more ;D
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
/thread
Because it hasn't been a year yet, and obviously they have to report something. Specific dates is all they can do.
You had your year fuckboy. 2018 is the year of Nintendo. The PS4 is already losing its spotlight.
“On a time-aligned basis through the first 10 months on the market, Nintendo Switch has sold more consoles than any other platform in history,” NPD analyst Mat Piscatella said.
>and obviously they have to report something
No, they don't.
That kind of stuff sounds more like advertisement and consolewarfaggotry
PS4 confirmed exclusives for 2018
>GoW4
>Spiderman
>Last of Us part 2
>Death Stranding
>Days Gone
>Detroit
Shitch exclusives:
>uhhhhhhhhh Kirby?
No, Pokemon and Metroid have no release date
I don't think there are any very specific conditions here. Switch has been out for 10 months, so if you want to compare sales speed, it's logical to compare its total to how much other consoles sold after being out for 10 months.
Don't really care about all of this consolewar faggotry but just wanted to say that Hori is best girl.
...
Holy fucking shit, how can you make such a wrong and shitty post when you had such a great premise.
It's like fucking up a 95% chance, calling riichi when your winning tile is out of the game or when you deal into someone else's hand with the last discard even though that person had a single tile wait and you had 14 different tiles
The switch wasn't even out since january
how scummy can sonytards get
>Next year.
>"Nintendo sees the second largest drop off of any console, in the last 20 years. Only being topped for the worst by the Wii U"
Not even hating. Just stating the inevitable.
>Days Gone
OH NO NO NO
>Nintendo was the best selling in America
>Nintendo was the best selling in Canada
>Nintendo was the best selling in a bunch of European countries
>Nintendo was the best selling in Japan
I feel like something doesn't add up in these reports
Why are the controllers expensive?
Don't forget Korea.
The trick here, is that the PS2 had a massive shortage its first Christmas Season. Otherwise, it would have remained the fastest selling console. They're limiting the time, because even though the switch is seeing success, it won't outpace the PS2 in the long run.
In other words, Switch won the sprint, but won't win the marathon
Hey does anyone know if they're releasing an animal crossing this year? I just want to have friends again
Thanks!
Maybe it wasn't best selling or those best-selling titles were "best selling this month" or something like that.
Where are your best selling reports coming from?
>a Mahjong analogy
Well, that's a first.
With exclusives like that, the PS4 might as well not even have games.
Only one I'm interested in is TLoU2. But only because I'm invested in the story.
The PS2 was not the previous record holder for most units sold in 10 months from launch. Not for 12 months from launch, either.
they also developed syphon filter like 2 years later and no one who was working on bubsy 20 years ago is still there lol
YOU WILL UNDERSTAND
NNNNNNNNNNNNNNOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
does this mean it outsold the PS2 launch year?
Sure, the PS4 is still selling more than the Switch. But Sony isn't selling more consoles than Nintendo.
There's never been a game system that had a great first year that didn't end up selling at least decently in its lifetime. So no, not likely at all.
>2018 is the year of Nintendo.
>when Nintendo blew their load early with their biggest franchise Mario and Zelda
And it's selling faster than anyone expected.
In just 3 days 55K units were sold in South Korea for god's sake.
How's that Monster Game faggot?
3ds
>And yet it is still going to do better than ps4.
Did not have a great first year.
>thinks this after they got btfo in 2017 with their biggest franchises
It sold 15 million in its first year. It declined every year after that
en.wikipedia.org
It required an $80 price cut only months after launch to reach that number, and it was still lower than Nintendo's forecast sales for the year. It can not be called a great first year.
And yet Horizon lost GOTY to a fucking Wii-U port
>forecast sales
Wow Nintendo expected another DS because they didn't know what phones were. If that's not a good year what do you call every other 3ds year after that?
And yet it got more GOTY awards than Mario
>BTFO
GOTY doesn't move units user, that's why PS4 outsold the shartch 2:1
Top 2 sellers sold most on ps4 LOL
Nintendo posted a yearly financial loss in the 3DS's launch year, and they directly stated that U.S. and European sales were below expectations. That is not what a great first year looks like.
Price cut + Mario Kart 7 + holidays in the last quarter of its first year caused a massive sales spike
Look at the info on the page you posted, in the last 3 months it spiked from 6.7 mil to fucking 15 mil.
In the same 9 month timeframe, the Switch has done better than the 3DS. Dunno if it'll ever pass the 3DS' 60 mil though, personally I doubt it.
So what's the code OP? Spit it out
It has games though, that's an unfair advantage toddler
We are one good Pokemon game away from absolute Switch DOMINANCE
But >gamefreak so don't hold your breath.
OHHHH CHIIINA!!!
>Multiplats
LOL
is that mousu mousu girl on the left
So many different versions of this but none fix that the Chadfrog has a benis where his bellybutton would be
It's clickbait. You fuckers fall for it every. single. time.
>on a Time-Aligned Basis
Notice how for PS4 its
>best selling of the year
>best selling of the generation
etc. For switch its
>best selling within in this very small gap
So I guess articles saying PS4 is selling 80 million or some shit is clickbait too?
I CAN FEEL IT COMING
Ashu tho
So, PS4 selling the most in 12 months (2 of which were before the Switch's launch) is fine, but Switch selling the most in the first 10 months after being out for 10 months is a "very small gap"?
wasn't the ps2 sold in 3rd world dumps for years after the ps3 came out which is where half of the total units sold stat is from?
>but Switch selling the most
Except the PS4 sold 20 million in 2017 whereas Switch could only muster up 10 million.
Fire...
Wasn't the PS4 also having massive price cuts while the Switch wasn't because it hasn't even been a whole year yet?
Why are you cutting out parts of what I said to try and make my statements wrong? I said "first 10 months." If you were comparing first 10 months with the PS4, you would be looking at PS4's sales in 2013 and 2014, not 2017. And to begin with, the topic is U.S. sales, and you're bringing up worldwide sales out of nowhere. On top of that, I do not think there is any source saying that Switch sold 10 million worldwide up to the end of 2017. And you would still be comparing 12 months of PS4 sales to 10 months of Switch sales.
>How's that Monster Game faggot?
Being outsold by fucking cardboard, thanks for asking.
Not really. It's different saying "this thing that's selling well will be selling more than this number" than "this thing sold the best when you consider this and that"
Consider what months that the Switch is missing.
I also doubt that the Switch would've sold and additional 10 million even if the two months were two decembers
Not saying the Switch isn't doing well, it might outdo PS4s first year (14million).
Is death stranding confirmed for 2018?
>Being outsold by fucking cardboard
What?
As of yesterday.
Oh, that thread.
At least include which category it is like everyone else did.
Switch released in March, so when counting 10 months, that period cuts off before January and February. Starting from November, the month that most other consoles launch in, 10 months would cut off before September and October. If there were major console releases in January that would miss November and December in a 10-month frame, or if we were counting 14 months and giving the November-launching consoles two holiday seasons, I would see the issue, but I don't think the difference between January + February and September + October is all that big a deal.
How about you remember PS4 launched within days of X1, whearas Switch only was competing with old consoles.
The PS4 had its highest-selling year in history in 2017. I fail to see how it was a non-factor just because it didn't launch this year when it was much stronger in 2017 than in its launch year.
their biggest mainstream franchise is pokemon
once they start releasing pokemon games yearly on that shit it's over for the competition, 100 million + systems sold guaranteed
I think the difference is big but its not important to what I said.
Switch won't break 10 million in those two months but it might do 3-5 million
The PS4 is also 4 years old and not a launch console.
And also had a PS4 Pro hardware revision. A lot of those PS4 sales were just people rebuying systems and not actually new buyers.
>Switch sells more in ten months in Portugal than Wii U did in five years
nintendoeverything.com
Yeah just like 3ds lol :)
Not even the 3DS managed to get 100million
JESUS CHRIST WHAT DID TATSUMI DO
[citation needed]
Lets talk about Nogizaka instead.
he made them understand
I want to fuck Ikuchan in the ass
JAV when
You mean for Switch to sell more than 20 million in 12 months worldwide? I don't think Switch will sell that much in its first 12 months, but I was just talking about launch aligned first 10 months in the U.S., which is the statistic this thread was about to begin with. I do think Switch will continue to hold the record for 11 and 12 months from launch in the U.S., though.
Well, I guess calling riichi even though your winning tile is gone, you can still fuck up the other players hands
3ds doubled its initial sales with a pricedrop
switch selling 30 million systems a year after a pricedrop confirmed
It just shows how PS4 is popular on its own merit. Had Switch launched days away from another new console, it would have been a different story.
Requesting the soyboy with fishing line box gif
Matsui Rena was lovely.
Sony or Nintendo soyboy?
Naturally, with Europe, the Switch will never outsell the PS4.
Are you saying that the Switch is not popular on its own merit? It's selling alongside two consoles that had some of their best sales in history in 2017 and still reaching record numbers. Do you have any concrete reason to think it would have done much worse if it had released closer to another console's launch?
