Fucking hell how many units will it sell by its first full year?

Also I hope this brings capcom more onboard with the switch

Interested in seeing what the official figures are when the 31st hits.

Neat, then it's going to pass WiiU lifetime sales in its first year.

That's fucking crazy

>Also I hope this brings capcom more onboard with the switch

After the betrayal of the Capcom Five I highly doubt they'd be accepted.

>It's not even a full year yet

Nani?!

There is no way they're not working on a MH game for Switch considering how popular it is in Japan.

You would have to think a proper direct is coming soon. Seeing as they forcast 20million sales for the next fiscal year.

>World bombs
>Capcom comes crawling back to the Japanese market
>Nintendo rejects them
>Nintendo Hunter, launching in two months
>Please understand

That's more of an indication of what a fucking humongous failure the WiiU was than anything else.

sony cucks BTFO

Well, of course, what we know about isn't all that's coming in 2018. It's just a matter of when the next announcements will be and how much will be saved for E3.

Can we have just one thread without console war shit in it please.

If the report is true its already passed the wii u.

LMAO

Is there anything Nintendo could do to double the sales in 2018? They already used Zelda and Mario

So it sold around 4.6M from December 3rd to December 31st
Nice

Capcom already stated they want to support the Switch more.

*sells 20M units in Japan alone on launch week*

Pokemon, Animal Crossing, Labo, maybe even a Smash 4 port.

Pokemon

Nintendo isn't Activision. Zelda and Mario are going to keep ejaculating for the next seven years.

>pikapika.mp3

You know that isn't possible. Falseflaggers work round the clock. Inb4 wojak spsmming brainlets start posting soy memes

Animal Crossing and Pokemon

Outselling the Wii U in itself is not very impressive, but doing it in only 10 months is. There are not very many consoles that have sold over 14 million in their first 10 months.

Hownthe fuck is the switch selling so well? Are people that keen on playing that piece of shit?

New Smash or pokemon

>MK7 outselling MK8
>no Mario Odissey
What am looking at?

Because surprise surprise, Sup Forums is always wrong and Sup Forums doesn't know jack shit

It hasn't been updated for Q4 2017, I think

Data based on sales figures from March 2017. It's not up to date.

How much did they say they wanted to sale in the first year again?

I'm gonna say that the big seller for next christmas is either gonna be one of the following

>pokemon
>smash
>animal crossing

It has to be one of them.

Still funny how MK7 sells more then MK8, 3DS is a money making machine.

Smash, Pokemon, Animal Crossing, Golden Sun...

how are they still selling wii and ds games?

The Mario Kart 8 here is the original Wii U release. It's not all that surprising that the Mario Kart 7 on the 3DS is selling more than a Wii U game. I'm sure that Mario Kart 8 Deluxe on Switch is selling more than Mario Kart 7 this year.

Could we see a Mario Odissey 2 or a BoTW "Majora's mask" in 3 or 2 years? I'm realy hope for a galaxy effect to happen

Retailers are still ordering new copies.

Money it still sales.

2D Mario worth a fuck and Pokemon.

I really doubt Pokemon will be ready this year. Development started just last year while GameFreak was still working on Ultra SuMo, and now they have to work with a new hardware. I think they will atleast need a 2 year development cycle, if not more.

Animal Crossing is possible though, yeah. Dunno about Smash, that's kinda a wildcard more than anyone cares to admit.

Lads I'm so fucking keen for octopath and bayonetta 3.

The reason the MK7 has so many sales in that was because it was bundled with the first model 2DS

I think it's possible, if not likely, with Zelda. They're not going to want to let the engine they spent so long to create go to waste with just one game, and we know they're done with DLC and are already working on the next game.

>trustedreviews.com/news/nintendo-switch-reportedly-passed-important-landmark-inside-year-3379272
This covers the period of April 2016-March 2017. The point is that Nintendo games continue to sell well years after they're released.

>They already used Zelda and Mario

2D Mario is more popular than 3D Mario.

I don't know how the fuck that link ended up there.

No one cares soyboy
Fuck off

You're not wrong, but the 3DS and Wii U NSMB games barely outsold the 3D games.

mad sonybro

Slight fatigue with NSMB itself I guess, but they said if they made a new 2D Mario, it would be different.

I read that aswell. I definetly think a mario maker 2 is in the works. What with how well it sold on the poor selling wii u.

>You're not wrong, but the 3DS and Wii U NSMB games barely outsold the 3D games.

That's mostly due to them both releasing at the same time and the casual players not moving on from the Wii.

I've looked it up before but despite both NSMB2 & U releasing in 2012. Between 2012 and now NSMBWii sold an additional 4 million. Which suggests the interest was there just Nintendo didn't have a platform to support the casual players that make 2D Mario outsell 3D.

Nintendo has 11 development units, each working on multiple projects. Beyond the known top-selling franchises like Pokemon and Animal Crossing, there's the potential for new things that aren't in the typical list of Nintendo system sellers, like Splatoon was. Koizumi did say that there were yet-to-be-released IPs coming this year. There's Nintendo Labo, which is already getting a lot of attention. There will probably be more to come, including some big stuff at E3.

Or maybe NSMB2 and U were just shit games and people are tied of Nintendo half-assing them.

Will pokemon switch be the best selling pokemon of all time?

I reckon the normies will jump on board just like with pokemon go. But this time the game will be half decent.

New Super Mario Bros U was by far the best in the sub-series.

It is true that the 3DS did not really hit it that big with the wider audience outside of Japan, especially in America. I mean, if you look at Pokemon sales between DS and 3DS, there was not any noteworthy decline, despite the big difference in hardware sales, but with Mario, there were some pretty steep drops. I think that speaks to something about who the 3DS was reaching and who it was not reaching.

Nah, Red and Blue sold like 35 millions, the current fanbase is roughly half that amount. Even if it sells more, it's unlikely to reach those insane numbers.

It might happen, the Pokemon Go shit can't be underestimated. I've had random people tell me they want to buy the Switch after they saw me playing it on the bus. Nintendo needs to up their cellphone game shit to reach more people, they've done a decent job so far but they need more games.

I have a NEET friend who is an avid pc gamer but he really likes playing pokemon on emulators. When I told him they were making a pokemon for switch he said if it was good he would buy it day 1.

I will convert him.

I wonder how big the impact of people in the west who haven't played Pokémon yet because they're home-consolefags will be.

Neat, that's actually insane considering how expensive it is. Hope it gets some more GAMES in 2018, I'm still waiting for SMT V or Metroid Prime 4 before I actually buy it.

The real question about Pokemon Switch is will Gamefreak be cheeky enough cunts to still make 2 versions and sell them at full price?

Pokemon
Monster Hunter

>Will the sun rise in the sky today?

This, but everyone was tired of the name at that point.

Yeh its hard to tell. I personally think switches pokemon is going to be a juggernaut, pokemon red and blue type of juggernaut.

I'd actually love a MH Portable on Switch with a bit more traditional gameplay, eventually. Too bad Capcom blew it by porting XX, which is shit.

Its pretty big and the fact that this pokemon will both be portable and a console based its basically already guaranteed million seller from here on out though what they show us determines if it sells 12 million or 35 million. If they hit the Genwun generation like the rumors say with an improved battle system then that shit is going to cause riots.

It's need to be, but need to be something realy big like BOTW and rethinking the formula, i go far to say even remaking the battle system.

I'd say that project "pokemon generations" is something the series should head to.

Gen I sold like 35 million units altogether, no way it sells that much.
The Switch is selling very well but Pokémon had two generations on the DS family which had 155 million consoles, and neither of those gens rivaled Gen I's sales.

All that said I wouldn't be too surprised if Gen 8 was the first since Gen 2 to break 20 million units. Especially if they remake Kanto again.

You severely underestimate Capcom's retardation.

Why do people keep asking these things? Nintendo will never run out of moneymaker IP.
It's also weird that Zelda is considered something to double a Nintendo console's sales when there has never been a Zelda game to do that.

I agree, but we all know we're getting S&M HD in a new region, with a few awful gimmicks tacked on, and even more curscenes.

Does anyone else have a hard time imagining how millions of devices are assembled in a year? There's only 365 days in a year. Creating even 1 million of anything, means you need to produce 2,740 units every day. EVERY DAY.

Just how do industries work that fast? And why do we all take it for granted?

That really is something to think about, I'm 100% sure they'll be sixty fucking bucks. Gen 6 and 7 both felt pretty half-assed, there's no way it won't sell 10+ million copies no matter what but if they want to really break out into the casual market again it had better be fucking impressive.

Switch already got a port of XX in Japan. Fucked if we'll ever see it though

It can't be, it's a whole new console and they are not holden back because of console power, i'd say it will be realy ambicious and not more of the same, nintendo is doing that with all franchises on switch.

I don't know, Capcom seems to not want to trust in the Switch. They don't want to localize XX and completely ignored it for DMC HD collection.

I believe in Gamefreak. I've always tried pretty hard to get into Pokémon on the handhelds but have never been able to. Earlier last year I played through Colosseum and it was the most fun I've had playing video games in a WHILE. I trust Gamefreaks ability to make a good console Pokémon game after that.

mass production faggot.is not hard to make a console.

Breath of the Wild is on track to becoming the best-selling Zelda ever.

Why do you do this to yourself? Build up your expectations until they're impossible to meet. We haven't even seen a teaser of a teaser trailer.

A-user, I... Game Freak didn't make Colosseum, it was Genius Sonority.

If Pokemon Switch is marketed as heavily as BOTW and looks like a decent 3D anime RPG that runs well, no matter how much they keep the other elements the same the sales will be skyrocketing past 30m.
In fact I'll guarantee this if they put in a functional multiplayer like NBA 2k18's Park system where you could run around with your MyPlayer on courts where you see other players playing in real time while you wait your turn. The servers will be overloaded as fuck for the first week.

I want to believe

Unreal that it took so long to dethrone Oot. Niether of them were bundled either.

Honestly, it doesn't make sense that it's selling as much as it is now. not if you merely look at the games. Because the Wii U was already Promised Zelda, and had 3D world. Yet that sold like shit.

The reason the switch is selling like crazy, is thanks to their new marketing approach. They're focussing less on the family, and more on the 18-25 year old hipster. By doing this, they're shedding a bit of that "kiddie console" baggage that's been weighing them down.

The switch will continue to sell, because the marketing has convinced people that it's a safe to own console. That they're not nerds or losers for playing Nintendo.

>outsold Wii U within a year
>The Pokémon Company's president thought this would flop
kekking

If you count both versions, Twilight Princess sold more than Ocarina of Time, but Breath of the Wild (also counting both its versions) has been selling much faster than even that anyway. I fully believe it will break 10 million copies when all is said and done.

>I believe in Gamefreak
They've consistently disappointed me with every game since BW2. I dropped Sun on the second island.
I don't believe in them for one second, but I HOPE Kimishima made it clear to them that if they fuck up Nintendo's second most valuable IP on its strongest console in a decade none of them are walking away with ten fingers.

>kekking
What he though he could be instead of getting off his ass to work on the Switch games.

It becomes evident that people don't appreciate the complexity of production lines when the first thing people think when supply is unable to keep pace with demand is "artificial scarcity conspiracy."

I wouldn't worry about Kimishima not getting his way. He's got a yakuza air about him.

Really what I'm looking forward to most out of a Pokémon Switch is seeing all those great models they made rendered in HD on a system that can consistently do better than 20fps

Which makes me wonder, how long has the Switch Pokemon been in development?
Sun and Moon was made by newbies so it is possible it has been in development for quite a while now, but on the other hand Gamefreak didn't trust on the Switch so they could have advanced nothing until that E3 announcement.

What counts as them fucking up to you? Because gens 6 and 7 have been widely praised by critics and fans and sold more than gen 5, they're not going to care about some people complaining.

Well, stop that. Game Freak have consistently proven themselves to be barely competent, and even when they have all the trouble of 700+ models out of the way and no longer having to re-do sprites every generation, they still can't put that extra manpower into a decent amount of content. Then, when confronted on their laziness, they deflect with bullshit like "no one would have played in the Battle Tower anyway".

If the game is good, that's great. But seriously, for your own sake, expect nothing.
