Here's a news for ya: CD Projekt is looking into developing their own console after the release of Cyberpunk 2077 (depending on its success) they want it produced in Poland but they're talking with Hasbro about buying or lending the Atari brand. Currently they call it Good Old Console and that's pretty much it, it's just in conceptualization phase but pretty much all important people in CDP are behind it. This was said as a throwaway during one of the meetings with investors.

If anything that's probably at most a very loose idea that nobody has seriously started doing anything serious with. I mean, we still do not even have an approximate release date for Cyberpunk and developing a fucking console, especially one that's supposed to dig itself a niche among the already established ones, takes lots of time and work. Even if it's going to happen, I'd say 5 years is the absolute minimum time we would have to wait for it.

The dev of that engine is from slovakia I think, which isn't too far from poland.
That's hilarious. If they do this, it's basically a death sentance. Of course, that's a pretty huge "if" since its just an unsourced rumor from some random user. I imagine this is either a ruse or just one of those things companies explore in an effort to find something that might stick.
