Anyone playing the magic arena beta?
>This kills the vanguard
No. fuck sjw the gathering
Why the fuck is black exiling a creature based on its power?
White usually exiles creatures with great power, so I guess it's fine for black to kill the meek. Does not make much sense to me.
Waiting to get in im on the general list
Unironically this. Mark Rosewater was asked lately "Why are there so many female pirates on Ixalan?" and instead of just saying something like "It's a fantasy world so anything can happen", he went with the "GIRL POWER AND TOKEN REPRESENTATION" route. MTG is one of the biggest virtue-signaling games out there.
It's like Murder but awful
>black not killing weak creatures
This is just a different flavor of shit like smother. It's like retards don't play the game
>exiling over destroy
>only 1 black mana needed
>more restrictive in what it can kill though
>awful
Why is Sup Forums bad at Magic
It's situational. Murder is better for 1-2 colour decks and depending on the format you're playing, you would rather run a 2-mana removal than a 3 mana situational removal even if it is exile. The only time exile matters is if your opponent is playing dredge in Modern. Even if you're looking at this card in standard, no one is going to run a 3-mana situational removal. There are so many better removal spells in the format right now especially Fatal Push which essentially hits the same targets but only costs 1 mana instead of 3
It has some applications, but it is at best sideboard material and even the only if standard lacks any other decent instant speed spot removal.
Of course you'd rather run lower costed removal, but when you compare it to Murder, it's not awful. It's a sidegrade. Push or Path is miles better then either murder or Reaver Ambush. And since murder rotated out of standard, Reaver Ambush may be good spot removal depending on how the meta shapes up after the bannings.
Fatal Push is still standard legal until the September set releases.

Black gets destroy/exile creatures with less than X power cards.
White gets destroy/exile creatures with more than X power cards.
Black picks on the weak while white creates balance by killing off the strong.
It's exile because wizards are hacks and exile now just means "kill really hard"
No, because fuck Wizard's yugioh-tier banning policy lately
>Tfw made a custom commander cube for my playgroup
It's the only way I can enjoy MTG these days.
Fuck that, all the cards they banned needed banning, the real issue is them not playtesting cards and letting that overpowered shit go to print
already phasing out? damn standard is trash
> 5 mana for 2 damage
> overpowered
The only justifiable bans were Marvel and Felidar.

I've been playing mtg for two months and I'm still loving it, mostly commander with Inalla and a whole bunch of draft
Keldon Megaliths comes into play tapped and requires no cards in hand
repeatable shock on a land in a format with no efficient land removal in an aggro deck is overpowered
Ok then. I see your point.
Nigger are you seriously fucking implying that being a tapland isn't a massive downside for an aggro deck? If they reprinted Keldon Megaliths right now literally nobody would run it.
It's a bigger drawback than having to take damage, but having no cards in hand is an easier repeatable effect to achieve. It also works.better in multiples.
At the end of the day, WoTC's excuse is bullshit, because red lands that deal damage have seen competitive play in the past and nobody died because lifegain and damage prevention in the sideboard are/were a thing.
I have access to the beta, but I would rather wait until the full game comes out before I invest my time and money.
My biggest problem with the game right now is AFKs. With the flow of a game of magic, there are too many situations where you have to wait for your opponents permission to proceed, and the game doesn't make it obvious that you are the one holding things up. Too many times does this situation occur:
>you: I wish to move to my 2nd main phase
>opponent: I have mana open, and cards/activated-abilities I could play, so the game will make me hold up the game, but I am unaware that I am holding up the game, so lets sit here for 2 minutes until I realize that I am holding up the game.
I stopped playing the beta just because of AFKs ruining the pace, making games take way too long.
No, you don't understand.
You are shit at magic if you think a tapland is acceptable in an aggro deck. Full stop. You are literally a trash player if you think that's a remotely comparable downside to life loss in fucking RDW.
> You are shit at magic if you think a tapland is acceptable in an aggro deck
Why do you think it saw standard play then, motherfucker? And it's not just life loss, it's also mana cost and the land saccing. Did you actually play with the ruins, you fucking retard?
Fucking dinosaur decks are the most op garbage there is right now. They basically get 1 mana spell that kills any creature on board, places a +1/+1 on your dino and gets you a land or draws a card.
>mana cost
Mana cost is nothing for a finisher
>land saccing
Because RDW really cares about having 5 fucking lands right
Black now does exile? Why not just have it do everything?
I deal with them by using settle the wreckage and spamming and pumping vamps
As long time mono black supporter i approve of this notion.
Coming into play tapped is a major downside
5 mana and a land sac isn't a downside for an aggro deck which has run out of steam by the time they have that much mana, doesn't have anything else to play for 5 mana, and usually has the opponent at 2 or less life by that point in the game anyway
Ramunap Ruins basically read "your opponents start with 18 life" or less if you were lucky enough to start with multiples of it.
There have been other lands with damage abilities on them, but those lands had restrictions that actually made them balanced in an aggro deck. Ramunap has no RDW-relevant restrictions to it, it's just free damage in the context of the deck. If it was really as fucking weak as your retarded newfag ass is making it out to be the deck wouldn't be fucking named after it.
Does this version have every card?
Does it have a better UI than shitty fucking MTGO?
If the answer was "no" to either of these questions, fuck off.
> implying one activation of the land will always win the game
Shit, I wish Healing Salve were Standard legal so I could prevent being oppressed by this absolutely overpowered land.

nuWOTC doesnt know what they are doing anymore
> Ramunap Ruins basically read "your opponents start with 18 life" or less
Barbarian ring did the same. RDW has always been kept in check by good lifegain and decent removal.
>There have been other lands with damage abilities on them, but those lands had restrictions that actually made them balanced in an aggro deck
Because having no cards in hand or getting 7 cards in your graveyard are such uncommon scenarios for RDW, right?
> If it was really as fucking weak as your retarded newfag ass is making it out to be the deck wouldn't be fucking named after it.
The deck is named after it because it's a fucking "build around me" card. It forces the deck to run extra colorless lands, and makes it avoid RR costs.
The only magic game I play is Wagic the homebrew. Fuck paying money for overpriced pieces of paper and virtual cards.
>beta
How do I get in?
I think they're moving out to Open Beta soon
>not using the invoke prejudice edit
>Barbarian ring did the same
No, it didn't. It required you to hit 7 cards in your graveyard. It also doesn't tap for anus mana for free.
>RDW has always been kept in check by good lifegain and decent removal
Too bad there is literally no removal for lands in standard other than a single nonbasic destroying land that, while good against literally any other problematic land, is an absolute fucking terrible card to play against RDW.
>Because having no cards in hand or getting 7 cards in your graveyard are such uncommon scenarios for RDW, right?
Yes, actually, they are, especially after your opponents sideboard. There is nothing to sideboard to stop your opponent from playing 5 lands that won't put you at a huge disadvantage against the rest of their deck.
>The deck is named after it because it's a fucking "build around me" card. It forces the deck to run extra colorless lands, and makes it avoid RR costs.
It's still free damage that essentially lowers your opponent's life total with no downside to yourself and avoiding RR costs is hardly relevant in a standard where the best red cards are R only.
