My toaster is clunky and old as fuck.
Also anyone here know how to fix a crash dump (memory.dmp). It happens whenever I use my Nvidia card, not sure it may be the OS.

How do I update to Windows 10 easily?

Build a new pc

How's the framerate?

30fps 90% of the time, worst ive seen is 20 fps in school
there a 60fps patch but it breaks certain animations so I decided not to use it

If you can't pull off 4k 120fps on every game, you should kys

>AMD Ryzen 1700
>GTX 1080ti
>asrock taichi

buys a locked cpu for an motherboard that handles overclocking and slap a 1080TI,,,,,,,,
i hate when people don't think about what they are buying,,,, waste of rescources

I still don't feel like I need anything beefier than this, and with the current cost of GPUs, I certainly don't plan on upgrading for no reason
However, I am regretting only getting 8GB of ram and saying "its fine, I'll just get another 8 later when its cheaper if I actually end up needing more"

Any no-brainer open world game (Saints Row, Mad Max, The Crew, etc)

1060 6gb
any coffeelake i5 or i7
16gb ram (8gb if poor)
if you really want to build one, give me your steam or discord and i can help ya out.

Depends on the game.

and graphics settings.

Are you high? I can get 3.9 at stock settings, it just gets a bit more hot than I'd prefer, I'm still using the wraith spire rgb

if you want to play anything on 1080p/60fps (including witcher 3) get a 1070, a 1060 will cover anything that's not witcher 3
Get 8gb of RAM, 16 if you're rich
ryzen 5 processor or i5/i7

>i7-920
mah nigga

Oh its another everybody posts their specs and there is no interaction thread.
i3 6100
1050ti
8gb RAM
1.5tb HDD
Malware 10 OS

>a 1060 will cover anything that's not witcher 3
I have a 1060 and am currently downloading witcher. What am i in for?

I have an incredibly bad potato laptop.
I don't play much with my pc but since its kicking the bucket I was thinking of getting a new one(not a laptop this time tho).
Any suggestion with a budget of 1k euro bucks?

medium-high settings. it also depends on whether you have the 3gb or 6gb. the 6gb will do more than fine. the 3gb might struggle a bit.

He's lying, 1060 can handle shitcher 3 just fine.

see
also get a gameplay overhaul mod like nexusmods.com/witcher3/mods/2521?tab=description

I hate when people who don't know what they are talking about insist that they do

Why do you have i3? There. Interaction. Now interact with mine. Im op

Planning on picking up an i7 4790k soon and a 1070 if prices ever normalize again. But it still plays every game I have so I'm not in a rush.

>shitcher
Why does Sup Forums hate every game rated high thats not nintendo?

Buy a second hand workstation with an i5 or i7, slap in a graphics card

I suggest you wait till the new generation of GPUs drops. Then the cryptofags will rush to upgrade to the latest gen and sell their current 1080s for pennies.

If you absolutely want one right now get i7 8700, gtx 1060, 16gb ram.

If you use these websites, you can build you computer to perfectly fit your budget, its pretty much idiot proof as long as you make sure your parts will fit in the Motherboard

not him but i love witcher 3, but it has a shit load of problems because of how rushed it is

Do this, save some money

But it has been out for like 3 years, didnt they release some patches?

Honestly the only thing that I still struggle with is the difference between itx and atx motherboards and which ones my case supports. But I'm not gonna worry for awhile.

Contrary to what is saying, you should be able to pretty much max out W3 and stay above 60fps.

Thanks guys.
What should I focus on? Motherboard? processor? video card?
i don't really need top-notch specs as I play only potato games with the pc(mostly retrogaming and shit like Armello or Hots), so my focus is on something that will last.
i don't really lyke buying second hand hardware, as it tend to logorate very quickly. I prefer to spend a bit more and getting something that will last a bit more, but thanks a lot for the advice mate

PC part picker will let you know if there are any incompatibilities in your parts, which is really nice.

Either way, a quick google search will tell you everything you need to know
>ITX vs. ATX. Both mini-ITX and micro-ATX are small form factor motherboards used in small computers. As motherboards, both ATX and ITX provide the basic features that can run a computer. “Small form factor motherboard” is the common term for any motherboard below a certain size.

It's not glitches or performance, but some really obvious pacing issues and some of the combat mechanics and areas feel rushed. Still a good game but it's not perfect and it can become a slog it you're a 100% chaser.

>FX-6300 / 3.5GHz / Six cores

Same here, but 6gb card.
Initially had 16gb ram, but 2 sticks were fucked and kept bsoding my computer.
I mostly play old shit anyway, but I got the card cos the fan on my old card fell off its bearing.
Occasionally pirate stuff that's multiplat so I can see if it's worth buying on ps4.
Sometimes I lan with my mates too.

they released some patches but it still has a lot of issues, some skills don't work, there's incorrect descriptions, it's easy to cheese your way through the game. the combat is very clunky and inprecise

>What should I focus on? Motherboard? processor? video card?
Logical Increments has great info sections that tell you exactly what each part is for, and what you should be looking to buy depending on what you want to do

Generally speaking though, GPU is the most important factor if you are building it primarily for games, then you want to make sure you have a decent CPU, but really, anything that isn't a super low budget CPU will be fine, the higher end ones are more for shit like rendering videos and shit, you don't need anything super fancy for games.
16GB ram is about all you need for games, but if you're on a budget 8 works just fine as well

Your Power Supply Unit is about the only thing you can future proof, and I would recommend making sure you get a high quality one just to avoid having it damage your other parts if it malfunctions, I always overspend on these though just so they'll last me 2-3 builds, so its up to you how much you want to go overboard on the PSU.

Just skim through the categories in logical increments and try to figure out where you want to be at. If you aren't trying to play games in 4K at 120fps, 1080p 60fps in every modern game is actually very affordable.

I still use a 970 and there are very few games that I have any issues with at all, and its usually more the games fault for being poorly optimized

Windows 10
I5 7400 3ghx
24gb RAM
ASUS prime B250m
Dual monitors
ATI Radeon RX580
1tb HD and 1TB SSD

I mainly play ESO at 100 FPS

I got my pc used on Craigslist so I wasn't sure what the motherboard actually was since I would obviously need to change it out in the future. Seems I have a standard atx one. I'm this poster got the rig for $375.

bullshit my 2009 hd4850+ core 2 duo toaster could do skyrim at ultra 60fps.

Make sur its not the sockets that are fried. Motherboards fail way more than RAMs.

Based user.
Thanks mate, I personally think 4k 60+ fps is just a meme so i think Ill be able to stay on budget happily.

Thanks bro, I live with an it dude and he checked all that.
He was surprised that it was the sticks too. I think I got them at the same time so they coulda been duds, or just damaged in the post or something.

I run like 150 mods.

i7-5930k @4,1GHz
GTX 1080
16GB 3000MHz

A variety of stuff, currently games such as Endless Legend, Dark Souls, and Subnautica. Fantasy (a)RPGs are probably my favorite genre though.

>Thanks mate, I personally think 4k 60+ fps is just a meme so i think Ill be able to stay on budget happily.
No worries my dood, happy to help. The first custom PC is always scary to put together, but its really not as complicated as it seems at first.
However, I will warn you, putting the heatsink on your CPU is going to make you want to cry.
Just keep in mind, everyone else does it too, and if pushing that hard would break the Motherboard, they wouldn't set them up that way
You're still going to be scared that pushing that hard is gonna break something, we all are, every time. I fucking hate installing heat sinks

It's my first computer and I love it. I'm enjoying rising storm 2 vietnam because to me its my first real war game. I love how you can go down in one or two shot unlike call of duty's bullet sponge shit. I got this computer to learn how to video edit as well but I'm gonna need to work on that before I do anything worth while. Luckily I nabbed that humble bundle with the $20 vegas 14.

Don't know if I should shoot in 3.4k with 14bit 4:4:4 24hz on the canon,
Or 6k 10bit 4:2:2 24hz on the gh5.

We have really similar speggz, OP.
Surprisingly, I was able to max GTA V - including grass - with a framerate averaging between 50 and 70fps. Would drop to 25fps in forests, but it didn't bother me much.

I just wanna have fun with shitpost kind of videos for practice but I do have a canon 5ti or however the old ones were labelled. That would be good practice too since I like to record video with it every once in a while.

I broke a heatsink's pins once while trying to install it and to this day I still have no fucking idea what I've done wrong, I'm convinced it was just defective.

I have the same card it's not the card

It's not the TV either, I know that much. I'm getting completely random black screens while the PC still runs in the background and I don't know what's causing them.

Manage to get 50 - 100 FPS in full KOTH server, ultra settings, which if you play you'll know that's pretty good.
