When is valve planning to upgrade CSGO to source 2...

when is valve planning to upgrade CSGO to source 2 ? they are taking their fucking time they have already done it with dota 2 so why is it taking so long for CSGO ?

god i hope all the skins become incompatible

pretty sure they won't though, which means the new engine isn't going to look any better than the current modified source engine they use kek

does CSGO really need source 2? only reasons they pushed it for Dota was for the Vulkan support and being able to handle hundreds of creeps on-screen.

at this point they would port csgo just to show that the engine is ready for 3D enviroments

>just to show that the engine is ready for 3D enviroments

you mean like Dota and that VR tech demo of portal

They should do it right fucking now, because the game is already dying because of cheaters, and casual baby games getting popular.

Dota 2 is a 3D environment you mong.

>tfw we will never see L4D2 on Source 2 that they already worked on internally
>tfw Source 2 will never be used outisde of Dota 2
>tfw no L4D3 ever

Fuck you valve

they said they were back-porting some systems they developed for source 2 as needed but a whole engine port wasn't planned for CS.

Are they even gonna bother with source2 at this point?

is there any reason to believe source 2 would fix those problems?

They said it will/

>tfw no L4D3 ever
Worst timeline
Why are these games so good and why won't the fat fuck make more ?

It's just so weird to see a studio once driven completely by artistic ambitions ditch any artistic integrity completely. I hope ten or so years from now, Gabe Newell will give some interview telling in-depth what exactly happened to Valve around 2007 and whether or not he has regrets about where he took the company.

Running Steam and developing games don't exclude each other. Valve and Steam could very well be just as successful today even if Valve had kept developing games.

Shitting out crates full of skins is easier and just as profitable

of course, how do you think they build all their vr projects that'll never see the light of day?

>en or so years from now, Gabe Newell

He'll be dead by then. Who will take over?

Okay then another question.
There are 20 games right now trying to emulate this fucking L4D shit, why can't they do it ?

> driven completely by artistic ambitions

Is this a fucking joke?

Gabe was a fat fuck producer at Microsoft before he left to start Valve and create Steam, his goal was never anything other than making fat stacks and continuing the scummy as fuck work he started at Microsoft.

Kathleen Kennedy, I hope.

I just want the MP5 in csgo

no, here's the problem with valve
their work philosophy is "as long as you get stuff done, you're hired"
so you can literally only get a new game made if a bunch of people unite and actually want to make one
no driving force at all

you are moron if you ever thought that source 2 = game will look better

I think the fact that Valve released all of their games late from all deadlines only when they were actually great products tells otherwise.

Shit already looks outdated. UE4 probably shits on it in looks and ease of use.

they would add skins to l4d3 without a single issue even infected could receive skins

Source 2 is a fucking sham
dota 2 on """source 2""" was a massive hackjob that impacted performance for months with absolutely no positive aspect
Source in general is gamebryo tier nowadays
Make something new from the ground up or fuck off

The Half-Life 2 beta's huge trove of material with such radically different forms than that in retail is a testament to the artistic freedom that Valve and its employees once had.

We are all gonna reviewbomb Artifact right? We wanted a new game but not like this...

>Valve and Steam could very well be just as successful today even if Valve had kept developing games.
they would be successful, but not as successful now. Steam makes them more money easier and for less effort than developing games themselves. Valve games always were about introducing people to the Steam platform, that was their goal since Half Life 2.

so they can have bigger map size and add their battle royale mode to CSGO

review bomb implies you downloaded it
not wasting my drive space on that garbage

This makes so much fucking sense it only makes me wonder why they haven't done it yet.

my bad why would i ever think a newer version of a graphics engine from 2004 would make it look better xD

>only when they were actually great products tells otherwise.

>Richochet
>Deathmatch Classic
>Half-Life Blue Shift
>Counter Strike Neo
>Counter Strike Condition Zero
>Counter Strike Source
>Day of Defeat Source
>Half-Life Episode One
>Half-Life 2: Survivor
>Half-Life 2: Episode 2
>The absolute rape of Team Fortress 2
>Counter Strike Global Offensive
>Counter Strike Online 2
>Counter Strike Nexon: Zombies
>Left 3 Dead: Survivors
>Dota 2

>Great products

AHAHAHA

a better question is when will they release a game straight up built for their new meme engine? what the fuck is even happening at valve hq anymore?

>Shit already looks outdated.
no shit that map from 4 years old looks dated
>UE4 probably shits on it in looks and ease of use.
fucking moron holy fuck, newer engine doesn't mean game will be more beautiful instantly, it all depend on who create their models and textures and also how future proof they want to their game, also with age even your shitty Unreal Engine 4 based game will look like ass, unless like i said you will want to future proof it (Crysis 1 but it's textures are trash so i guess you can't future proof everything)

And i'm big fan of UE4 but i'm not as moronic as you are, you just just stay silent if you talk but have no idea what you are talking about.
Look at Titanfall 2 it was made with source engine fucking one and looks really fucking good.

Look at Escape from Tarkov which was made with Unity which most people hate due shitty EA games.

youtube.com/watch?v=dD9CPqSKjTU

UE4 demo from 2012 which looks like ass nowadays see my point now?

They could not give 2 shits about CS:GO.

Actually I was specifically talking about the old Valve. The actions of new Valve in no way refute what I said.

>Richochet
>Deathmatch Classic
>Half-Life Blue Shift
>Counter Strike Neo
>Counter Strike Condition Zero
Admittedly I don't know much about these games.

>Counter Strike Source
Both extremely popular and liked game.

>Day of Defeat Source
Idk, you could be right

>Half-Life Episode One
Is good as a part of the HL2 experience, plus most people got it in the Orange Box anyways

>Half-Life 2: Survivor
idk about this one

>Half-Life 2: Episode 2
Isn't this one generally praised? I thought it was good.

>The absolute rape of Team Fortress 2
>Counter Strike Global Offensive
Nu-valve

>Counter Strike Online 2
>Counter Strike Nexon: Zombies
Idk

>Left 3 Dead: Survivors
What?

>Dota 2
Nu-Valve

thanks for proving my point you are a moron, they could easily make better looking maps in source 1 but that would require more effort while at same point that would not hype up people with their "new" engine, new map tools will be easier in usage to create better looking maps in future so that's one of reasons why they want source 2

Seeing how the player numbers of all Valve's major games (Dota 2, CS:GO and TF2 if it counts as a major game) are on the decline, it's likely they will or already have given up on game development and will solely focus on Steam in the future.

you are a fucking retard, stop replying to me you spastic
