not me, fuck no. that period sucked and personally killed off so many good games with garbage like ffta, ffx, chrono cross, legend of mana, breath of fire 5, advance guardian heroes, sword of mana, xenosaga, star ocean 3, suikoden 3 and so many other just faded away like phantasy star, shining force, lunar, grandia, ogre battle, alundra and lufia. Also hl2 sucked. I was seriously fucking depressed and quit gaming in the early to late 00s because of the ps2 generation. Also games like sotc, okami, dark cloud 2, melee, sunshine, wind waker, ffxi, metroid prime, mgs2 fucking sucked.

You might say i picked a bad time to be angry, jaded and full of angst but aside from 9/11 happening and making the world shit, videogames just became pure shit and if it wasnt for the gba and games like castlevania AoS, advance wars, astroboy or pc games like cavestory, mount & blade and spelunky during those years, videogames would have been dead and gone for me. Ive since recovered but i still harbor a deep hatred for that shit generation with the only saving grave being yes maybe 2-3 ps2 games which deserved more praise, the gba and the dreamcast(in b4 segafag i wan a multiconsole+pc idort) the end

6th gen was great. Symptoms of modern gaming started to show up in it, though.

And I didn't really enjoy GC/PS2 either. Metroid Prime 1 and 2 were good, though.

It was a much better age for single-player games because the console market was dominated by Japanese franchises

i can honestly say that AAA games gotten better.
yeah the gameplay is sort of lacking, but im not looking to break my neck over some dumb puzzle, im simply too old for that.

horror games came a long way, so does strategy games.
i mean seriously the only genre that is severely lacking right now is adventure, and i don't mean the platformer shit. i mean genuine adventure that you feel satisfaction every time you solve a puzzle or find a hidden cave

Gotta agree with this. That gen had some pretty good games, but most importantly the games that came out had one price, didnt need to be installed or patched, and microtransactions didnt exists.

Gaming should have came to a standstill at this generation. I'm being completely unironic.
