Considering Warframe's still going strong after all these years and Destiny 2's player base is already dead, I think it speaks for itself.

Why aren't you comparing warframe to the division? Comparing destiny to warframe is like comparing gears of war to halo.

Hate how warframe characters look so Destiny 2. It may not have any content but the armor and weapons are good looking. At least those that aren't reskins. Gensym Knight Armor is the best set of armor in all of the game. I don't do trials or the raid so I don't count those.

If D2 had even half of the shit to do in Warframe it'd win easily. There's a far better core gameplay than Warframe's, despite how flashy it is. After the death of coptering the only thing that comes close is Titanfall 2's movement system. I won't deny Movement 2.0 being fast but it's clunkier too.

To stop being compared to Warframe, Bungie just needs to take their heads out of their asses and either stop trying to balance PvP or balance PvP and PvE separately because the current method is a massive failure.

The actual best response is to drop both and play Destiny 1 instead, since it's pretty good now that you can, you know, get the actual full game's worth of content. If you have to choose between the two pick Warframe literally every time.

Warframe is 100% free, it's microtransactions just skip grind and wait times, with weapon and frame slots being the exceptions.
You can get the real world currency by trading in-game shit with other players, and you can reach the point of getting the trade-worthy items within a day or two, a week if you're only casually playing.

Destiny 1 had the excuse of being cut and pasted so many times over, with most of the lore not being in game, but by the last expac for D1 they had more lore worked into things, even with most it still offloaded in 'grimore cards' which you collected in game but could only view in a webpage or the app.

And then they binned the whole thing for D2.
Literally took the official page offline, record of it only exists now because there was a fan-site that obsessively collected all that shit.

Warframe. And i've never even touched the shit. It's community despite going through hard times has always been active from what i can tell. And it's content creators and streamers have never left it. It also doesn't need a Warframe 2. The only problem i've seen with Warframe is that it is immensely grindy and how much to put in your face the knowledge you can do anything if you just give them a few bucks is always present.
DESTINY 2 on the other hand is a shit rework of Destiny 1 in the worst possible way. It has an immense removal of lore within the game, the writing is easily toward kids 10-14 years old, it has gotten rid of the playstyle that which made Destiny 1 fun, Boring PvP, No endgame that is diserable because they were too stupid to think that people would want more out of a Raid than just armor that made your Lig-I meant "Power" higher(making it higher doesn't do anything still, everything scales), forum outrages have lasted for a whole month once because an event was singled around giving the greedy fucks cash just for some armor or a decorative shader, and quite honestly it's such a shit show the DLC content didn't even help it. It's numbers are at an all-time low. And the next DLC doesn't come until May.

Warframe is a mess, it's gameplay is everywhere and I'm not sure where its direction is going.
Destiny is hated for all the reasons I bet you heard. It needs a better team and it needs Activision to hop off.
