Where was the cut off point quality-wise for you Sup Forums ?

The quality hasn't really changed, the games are all so similar.

It's all over the place for me.

CoD 1/UO were really good, but 2 was pretty shit.
All the Treyarch games other than CoD 3 are really good, with WaW being the highlight.
The last good IW CoD was 4.

Contrarians will say after World at War. Realistically they fell off great tier after blops one, then fell off good tier after blops 2.

COD1/UO truly was the peak and it is such a shame that a lot of people here on Sup Forums didn't even play it. Actual recoil, switchable fire rates, memorable as fuck missions, multiple campaigns with distinctively different atmospheres... top fucking notch ww2 experience. Especially UO.

COD2 was fun but in a dull, lifeless way. I hated Halo regen health and I hated the grenade spam. Guilty pleasure of a game if you will. Same with MW1/2/3 except they are a bit more balls to the wall. Suprisingly I replayed the MW trilogy quite a few times. Never bothered with multiplayer.

Gave a shot to all the ps2 CODs and they are all utter derivative, watered down, unplayable garbage.

They are all garbage, you just grew up and realized it (hopfully) at some point.

this image is cancer, we dont need all 9000 variations of the same game

Before the first game.

CoD 2 was pretty enjoyable on surface level. The campaign was fun and the multiplayer was a good runaround.

I just have strong memories of Rifle Only Harbour Search and Destroy on CoD 1 and no amount of perks or whatever will bring that back.

I only got to experience COD1 multiplayer a year or two ago on a LAN party and Base Assault is such a good game mode. Its like a mini-scale battlefield.

i started with mw3, went back and played bo and mw1, then played or atleast tried every single COD post mw3

my peak enjoyment was blops 2, which was hampered by awful lag compensation

and i actually liked the future CODs, blops 3 and iw were decently fun but the maps werent great for parkour, it just felt like they shoe horned in jump areas so you gotta run on a wall instead of sprinting, didnt feel tactical to boost jump most of the time but i liked sliding into people similar to drop shots

loot box cancer is really fucked though, IW took that shit way too far with its variant system, its not strictly p2w but too many strategic options are locked behind loot boxes

For singleplayer, MW and Blops have always been my favorites. MW's singleplayer campaign is legendary for a reason - its the only CoD beyond the first two that I can really be take seriously. Blops, and to a lesser extent the other Treyarch games, are appreciable because of their complete embrace of campy action schlock.

Blops 2 was my favorite multiplayer. The way it handled loadouts really felt like it justified the tired samey progression systems, and felt like it really opened up hilarious builds too. Honorable mention goes to WaW with its tanks and the War gamemode.

I've played both CoD1 and UO campaigns recently and I have to say that UO's campaign is a massive step down from CoD1. It's just awkwardly designed, there's lots of poor scripting where you may die in an unexpected manner, or situations where scenarios that are bullshit hard become trivial if you do something that is contrary to what is communicated to the player (e.g. running ahead of the main force to prematurely trigger an enemy spawn to stop spawning, or staying behind to kill enemies in what is supposed to be an escape sequence). The level design is filled with too much clutter in indoor areas that just trip up the player (some are even "fake" props that enemies can see and shoot through), and the use of friendly NPCs is poor in general. Friendly NPCs often end up clogging close quarter battles by either blocking your aim or fooling you into thinking a room is clear because they stopped shooting. They also end up hogging all the good cover in certain parts.

Besides these, another problem I have with UO's campaign is that it lingers too long in certain environments and lacks the variety and fluid pace of CoD1.

Only played CoD 1, 2 and MW2. MW2 multiplayer was fun, and I guess any new CoD would be fun as well but I just don't really have the time to play every game that might be fun so some do not make the cut.

Does not mean they are bad though.

Speaking of ww2 stuff, what are your opinions on Allied Assault expansions, Breakthrough and Spearhead?

World at War.

Stopped at Black Ops, but didn't really play that one. Modern Warfare 1, 2 and WoWs were all fantastic though, I miss those days.

>There are 32 Call of Duty games

Easily MW3. That game was irredeemably bad. Some of the worst maps I've ever played in an online shooter, and the perk/killstreak system was a fucking shit show. Even though the killstreak system started getting out of hand in MW2, the maps in that game were great, the guns were fun to use, and gimmicky shit like the nuke was hilarious.

Black Ops 2 was decent, but I was so burned out by that point I regretted buying it. I skipped Ghost and got baited into buying Advanced Warfare. Not as bad as MW3 but still one of the worst ones, and it reminded me why I stopped playing these games to begin with. Haven't touched any of them until WW2 came out, and I only played the beta of that. It's OK, much better than it has been in years, but so far I've avoided buying it and the only thing that tempted me was the fact that I updated to a 1080ti GPU and a 1440p 165Hz monitor, and I was itching to throw as many new games as it as possible. Battlefront 2 and WW2 almost got me but I'm glad I skipped that shit.

WaW

COD babbies will say Ghosts.

BO2 then they fucking lost me. Also I started playing BF3 and said rip to CoD.

contrarians will say cod2, despite this being the most generic, boring cod of them all. only one viable gun (bolt action), no running, guns all sound like ass.

You only say that because you didn't bother actually looking at the image retard

MW2

Black Ops 2 was the last one I played
But I skipped MW3

this. cod keeps getting better and better with each game. ww2 is the most epic and based one yet.

I actually liked MW3. Everything after that was awful. Battlefield seems superior in pretty much every aspect and there are even better shooters on PC. COD has no appeal anymore.

muh mod support, so 4

Can never unsee.

So this is what a digital gangrape looks like. Thanks for this pic OP.

...

Biggest quality drop for me was Ghosts. MW3 wasn't too good, but Black Ops 2 was excellent and totally made up for it in my mind. But Ghosts... lordy lordy that one stunk. I don't even know what I hated about it either, everything just felt so bland and dull. Tried Advanced Warfare since I got a free copy, but that was so divorced from the CoD series feeling I barely bothered with it. Skipped Black Ops 3 and Infinite Warfare, got WWII, again for free. Really enjoying it so far, but I think it's mostly just because it feels like the whole New Coke trick Acti was pulling with the futuristic shite is over and we're back the original flavor.

...

BO3 has mod support

...

WAW was when it got shit, pretty much everything up until that point was good.

I haven't had as much fun as I did with BO2 though that was due to the people I played with. Only got BO3 for zombies which was meh but I had a bit of fun.

>WaW, but not UO
>MW, but not MW2
What the fuck
That's some weird taste you got there user

I eat plain dry bagels for breakfast

MW2 was when I gave up on the series. After few years I played BO1 and BO2, both were genuinely good, while MW3 was utter garbage. Which gave me hopes for Treyarch CoD games, but then again BO3 was disappointment and they gave up on PC optimization ever since.

>AW is bad
