When was the last time you bought a game at the store that you didn't know anything about? You just bought it because of the box art or a magazine ad or a poster on the wall.
Don't you kind of miss that sometimes?
When was the last time you bought a game at the store that you didn't know anything about...
I remember telling my dad I wanted a Digimon game. I didn't know one actually existed. I just knew I wanted one because of the show. So he asked the guy at the counter and I ended up with pic related. Hated it at first because it wasn't like the show but when I started to understand it, I enjoyed it.
I just bought a boat load of indie garbage on the last Xbox Indie sale and I have no idea what most of it is so far it has been a very mixed bag but I really liked Sexy Brutale so you can still have that experience if you want
I can't remember the last time I bought a game at a store.
Returning some Christmas gifts, only got store credit, only had enough for one game, and this was basically the only thing on the shelf. Looked pretty dumb and was expecting to be disappointed, but boy was I wrong.
A couple years ago I bought a loose cartridge of this. I had never heard of it before or played it, but based on the label I assumed it was a shmup. Not a bad game.
Awful.
RNG dependant grinding and the SaGa style gimmick of different characters having different stories was shallow as fuck
Sheitttttt forgot pic
That game goes for like, $300. How much did you spend on it?
people did that? i always rented games first. the only games i ever bought blindly were exclusively tony hawk games because i knew they'd always be good. i stopped doing that after project 8 though cause it looked like it was going downhill.
golden sun for gba
I was pleasantly surprised
i still have a receipt from funcoland sitting on my desk.
Honestly it has been so long that I cannot remember, maybe forza 2?
Is it for a duke nukem forever preorder?
Universal Combat.
It was a big fucking mistake. Fuck you Derek Shart
/ourguy/
Downhill is right
The last game I did that and actually played was Shin Megami Tensei 4. I found it at a game store and thought, "Hey isn't that the weird title that goes before all the Persona games?"
I'm now hooked on this series.
Last time I did that in general was last Steam sale and I picked up Sid Meyer's Pirates!, I never actually played it yet though.
Funcoland was the fucking SHIT, man. I fucking loved that godamn store.
I did it a lot 2004~2008 when PS2 was on its way out and used PS2 games could easily get down to $5.
Discovered Drakengard, SaGa, and Star Ocean (3) that way.
Last game I did this with was Fallen Legion, last month actually. It was mediocre, but I felt like I got my $10 worth.
More like okSTUPID amirite?
Nah. I bought a dreamcast when i was like 11
