Base Broly never really fought, other than young flash-back Broly, briefly I think.
Personally I prefer normal SSJ Broly, and by extension Restrained SSJ Broly, but BIG LARGE MAN is what sells.

It's the first special where Akira Toriyama himself wrote the story for Bardock. The Bardock TV special that everyone remembers was basically a Toei-written thing that's literally as canon as any of the other Dragon Ball Z movies (ie: not canon).

Surprisingly enough, Toei's writers were way better at telling a story about Bardock than Akira Toriyama was.

The point of the post was to show that Bardock (besides a single manga panel where Frieza remembers the image of a saiyan that sorta looks like Goku) is the only nod to Bardock that ever existed in the original Dragon Ball Z continuity, and that only existed AFTER Toei's Bardock special created the story for him.

I mean, 'The Father of Goku' is not canon either, but that's just about all we have for Bardock as a character, besides the brief panel flashback in the manga.
(There's also Dragonball Minus if you count that, which you probably should, as it was written and drawn by Akira Toriyama)

Autistic side note: Judging by the differences between the manga and anime, Toriyama's notes give fuck all in terms of detail. 17's sacrifice is filler by the same standards of judgment but I doubt people will consider that non-canon. Oh sure, all the shit before the ToP is filler in the normal sense of it being padding, but not in the "non-canon" sense.

To me, god ki seems to shit on everything that came before, including GT.
