afterbirth has a lot of bullshit enemies, bosses, and rooms, and antibirth is much more fun

gungeon and isaac are molasses-speed garbage,
rebirth is okay but afterbirth just makes the game worse by adding more time-waste rooms to the game

Looks decent, FFXV is definitely a risk if you don't know what the combat feels like beforehand.

Gungeon is just too slow, it has nice style and music but god damn do I hate using the default guns to reach the first chest and then fucking maybe the game throws a good gun at you. Just remember the 2 hour / 2 week limit for refunds and you should be fine.

Im seconding this, afterbirth makes the game a lot worse.

Basically, BoI is fun because getting lucky with good combos breaks the game, but the devs hate this aspect of it (and have expressed this). Afterbirth tries to "fix" this by giving some bosses scaling health which makes half the upgrades useless, and added some other awful punish mechanics that, for example, permanently nerf health pickups if you reset too often

Surprisingly neat game. Short, and the writing is a bit crap, but the gameplay is fun. Some areas just look like cobbled together assets, but since you're constantly running around you don't really notice it.

It's a pretty cool game in the vein of Another World. I've had issues with controller support (the game won't recognize the sticks or triggers of my XBone controller, and before the beta patch it would default to controller which meant I had to switch to keyboard+mouse in the setting every time) and it tends to be a bit vague with what you need to do moment to moment. Like, there's a cabinet with guns and you need to acquire them, but the process to do so is a bit convoluted and you have to explore like three or four dead ends before you figure out the correct order of operations.
That being said, it's overall really neat so far.
