Yeah I've been playing it. It's still such a great game. Maneaters were so much easier than I remembered, I was a bit shocked.

It really needs a remaster unlike a certain other game, Sony can't let Demon's Souls be shelved.

Maiden Astraea is still the best damn boss fight in this series and you don't have to roll once

Already finished my last playthrough, don't really have time for another full one before they kill the servers. Managed to pull off 2 invasions, mess around with messages quite a bit and get pure white tendency in all worlds, so all in all I'm satisfied with it. Just sad I didn't manage to get any summons, or get summoned

I never fought him without the ring. Even on my first playthrough since I had it on anyway to stop those fucking stingrays in outside sections from shooting me. Is the fight really much harder this way?

Demon Souls is really honestly bad, though. Even as the first of the line, it was clunky as hell.

Yesterday I did some Old Monk invasions to get the Monk's Head Collar for a couple of characters
>First invasion was against 2 crapping spear memesters, wrecked them with firestorm and got my hat
>Second one was some complete noob whom I destroyed with a single +5 Dragon Bone Smasher hit, got another hat for another character
I still have my faith character without the head collar but I think I won't bother. Was fun though and I might do another playthrough before the servers shut down (already did 2 new playthroughs a couple of weeks ago).

As much as I'll miss the messages and other online elements Demon's Souls is the only one of the bunch that almost should be experienced alone because it plays up the ominous and foreboding angles so well.

I’ve never used the ring and don’t think I’ve ever died against him. I don’t remember him being challenging at all

I agree, but I don't think the messages ruin the atmosphere, actually quite the opposite, the game feels tremendously empty without them and not in a good sense. They really had a lot of charm.

Played the OG when it was current, was the greatest PvPer in the game, I can't go back to a ghost town
