I bought Far Cry 4, but couldn't finish the game because I really liked Pagan Minh and felt bad about fighting him when hes the good guy in the end. 3 had a genuine villain and motivation to stop him, I just need to see how Ubi is going to handle the plot.

I'm legit interested by the antagonist.
Since in almost all the far cry games, the antagonist is interesting, and sometime even better than the "good guy" (Don't tell me than Pagan was evil, and Citra was in reality worst than Vaas. )

Pagan was a dictator who happened to be keeping the county stable for AJ's coming and taking the place over. The Golden Path were just gonna kill themselves anyway and yeah, they were cunts too.
Nobody in Far Cry 4 was really good by any stretch and AJ was ignorant/apathetic to the goings on. Only wanting to scatter mum's ashes.

Far Cry 3 had Vaas the first major antagonist but he was just crazy. The rest of the cartels on the island were the villains and Citra was the leader of a warrior cult entirely disconnected to the actual villains aside from Vaas, who is killed.
Her motivation was giving birth t the perfect warrior to lead the tribe/cult. That's it, the only evil thing she does is kidnap Jason's friends but Jason is the one to actually kill them, so if you don't go through with it she gets killed by her followers or whatever.

TL;DR: the villains aren't anything to write home about. I want to know what the spiritual journey is because that's always the more fun part of the game.

Yeah, that's why Vaas joined the cartel.
But as hinted in the "shame Citra inked you up" thing he still follows the tribes code of honour in some capacity.
He just didn't want to fuck his sister and get killed after.
