I was overwhelmed by this game when I played it for the first time. The city actually felt alive, and the graphics were a huge upgrade from those of SA.
Sadly, that cooled off pretty quickly once I realised how boring it really was. There was no variety in the missions.

Ballad of gay tony is what this game should've been.

SA is the best GTA you faggot. Vice City isn't even close.

Astounding NYC environment ruined by COUSIN BOWLING and lack of entertaining quests.

Currently replaying it and then going back to V to compare the feel and differences.

Characters, story and the world feels incredibly alive.

I've only ever played GTA 3, VC and SA. My potato couldn't run 4 and by the time I got a computer that could run it it was already obsolete and I had no interest in playing it. Having the same computer for 10 years killed my interest in the majority of games released after 2008.

Based on SA's very simple *location, event*, especially with the unique gameplay implementations (parkouring, interacting with items, and covering systems), and still / further having multiple options for tactics, the gameplay is innovated.

RPG designs are depth and variety.

GTA IV was boring, and TBoGT made that game fun for once. That's all I can say.

World building.

I didn't like 4. I got bored with it and never finished it.

a bunch of the missions take place inside apartment buildings, houses, warehouses, and abandoned factories. you can go inside those places anytime you want even before or after the mission. unlike in V, where places like the Humane Labs or the FIB building are locked behind scripted events and can only be accessed by exploiting glitches.
