Let's do something Sup Forums. We talk about the best final bosses of every year in gaming. This includes bosses locked to hard modes or secret final bosses.

Whenever Dragons Dogma came out. Grigori and Seneschal were amazing, and also the DLC bosses.

For 2008 my vote has got to go to Snake vs. Liquid at the end of MGS4.

2016's winner is pretty obvious.

This holy shit.
also
2015: Gehrman

It came out in 2013. Then again, Grigori's got the hardest competition of them all.

my vote for 2017 would go for the final boss in the BoTW second DLC, but I'm sure there're better picks from other games that I haven't played

Wdf am i looking at?

>botw boss
Fucking delusional switchfags

2017 is Gael for sure.

So far we have
>Star Dream
>Grigori/Armstrong
>Gael/Maz Koshia
>Liquid Snake
>Gehrman

Nice pick OP. Might be cheating, but the entire final sequence where you control Bowser

2017 has to be the credits for NieR: Automata

The only moment of Nier Automata that I'll agree was good.

1995 has to be Giygas.

Orphan of Kos is the greatest boss fight of all time.

Imagine being this contrarian

T H I S

Not intentionally contrarian. I wanted to love that game and I thought it would be right up my alley.

>Switch
Please. PC has been the definitive BotW platform for almost a year now. You have no excuse not to have played and loved it.

2006 winner right here

Malus was a pushover though & basically only half of his fight, they planned for him to break free, but cut it due to PS2 limitations

Shame they PS4 remake didn't change him, or any of the other mediocre bosses, Bluehole were incredibly lazy

Original sotc just cant be matched, even with better graphics. It loses appeal. I wish we had all the cut content of the original.

Picking a hard fight, but 1997 Melzas > Sephiroth

It's definitely not the most interesting battle in the game in terms of mechanics, but as a spectacle and a climax it works very well. Not OP btw, just chiming in with my own thoughts.
I had no idea that he was meant to break free though, that's pretty crazy.

Vergil in DMC3 could go for best final boss of that year, whenever it came out
I dont know, lots of good games kinda fuck up the final boss part for some reason

As shit as the actual character and reveal of the true villain was in Persona 4, the final boss fight was great. With the orchestral version of the main battle theme music

I hate the fact that the killing of Gods is inserted into Persona from the mainline games. I just want a smaller scale story for fuck sake.
