Bump.

Get the fuck in here. Retards.

Scam Citizen will never ever be a fucking MMO.

Is the law suit still happening?

I dont give a shit I just want the singleplayer

Not a scam citizen shill but whats wrong with this?

I've been experimenting with cell based servers for a while now, the QT thing sounds like a hack job when they could have transitional zones, but having muliple servers manage different regions of a game world only lessen's the computing load, this is extremely useful for open world MMOs as each instance needs to calculate everyone's activity on ticks, even EVE has to hackjob this concept by loading any big battles onto one server and then slowing down time artificially so the server ticks don't get out of hand and cause a server crash.

Yeah.

You're intelligent. No joke. That's the best you can fucking hope for. Even so, it looks like shit.

They've been claiming to make a real MMO for years. They're cutting back 'cause that shit will never ever work.

They've been canceling the shit they promised lately. Like stealing ships being permanent. Now they disappear when you quit the game.

Where the cultists at?

The approach is fine, but the fact that they're talking about the first steps toward it in aspirational tones is concerning. It's real late in this game's development for this to come up as something new.

>we'd like to avoid running a server for a section (e.g. Daymar)
>(e.g. Daymar)

What's the point of this? Can Daymar possibly have any significance to anyone reading this that isn't part of the dev team? Sounds like they just wanted an excuse to show off their cool space names

Post your face when you didn't back this scam

...

...

I'm pretty sure there are system maps that anyone who actually cares will have seen a ton of.

...

Ill defend it, give me a tl;dr

They never claimed it to be an MMO, thats mostly MMO fansites that have no real MMOs to report on in the past 10 years.

Scam Shitizen never claimed to be am MMO, they claimed to have a persistant universe, but always claimed it would be an instanced mess like how elite dangerous is.

>if you had the patience to do so you would be able to fly between servers at sub-quantum speed
Shit Citizens will eat that comment right up. Queue a stream of a guy trying and ending up in an empty space until he uses QT for it to load the assets. Lmfao did they not learn from ED?

As long as they stay true to their promise of allowing players to host their own servers a la freelancer, then none of the monetization bullshit they've pulled will matter to me.

>mfw I spent $150 years ago

REEE I SPENT 22000$ YOU FUCKERS IT MUS2T BE GREAT

Daymar is currently a place you can go to on the alpha.

So it makes sense they'd use an live example then a theoretical one.

tl;dr

I can't

>Game comes out
>Wait for price to drop and grab it for pocket change
>Enjoy all its content and then brag to the hardcore backers about how I spent $10 to get the same game they wasted thousands of dollars on.

>Game doesn't come out
>Enjoy the massive shitstorm that follows and meme about it on Sup Forums

Either way I win. It's a great feeling.

>buy game for ten dollars
>butthurt whale upset they spent $20k on trash ram-griefs you in starter system with his LTI protected megaship for days on end

Theres nothing he said that needs defending.

Fuck right off you pathetic pieces of shit. Star Citizen is genuinely going to be one of the best games ever released on the PC, and I'm tired of uneducated idiots shitting on the dev team for being more ambitious than what they are regularly used to.

There's nothing wrong with people backing it, and I myself have pledged over $6000 toward this masterpiece. My advice? Head on over to the subreddit and acquaint yourselves not only with the feature list but also the current, whole state of development. Maybe then you not be so ignorant, hmm?

garbage bait, desu

So does this game have the opposite problem of Derek Smart's game?
Also, apparently in this article, he eventually just starts shitposting to stir up shit for giggle.

More like
>Rams my free space brick into their troll ship

...

tldr i bought it and will play it when it releases in 4 years

...

I thought they got sued into oblivion. How is this relevant?

Feels almost as good as not being Anthony Burch.

My cousin and I almost did.

Law suits take a long time

Crytek was going bankrupt, they didn't even pay their employees in 2017 thats how much money they were losing because as a game engine company, no one wanted to use their shitty engine.

Parts of cry engine were sold of, devs left and started on lumberyard, now owned by amazon, and what star citizen uses now.

The lawsuit was a cashgrab by a failing company trying to stay afloat, and none of it holds up because the entire GLA was made by RSI and doesn't back up any of Crytek's claims.

...

...

And each of these servers is going to have like 12 people max.

these guys reminds me of the california government. every year they demand billions and billions of dollars go into "road construction and area improvement" so everyone in the greater LA region can have access to a better tomorrow.

however, every year that $ figure gets higher and higher. meanwhile the roads are still shit and the homeless count continues growing. we all know where that sludge fund is going though!

Bought it, and I enjoy it. Same as every one else who plays it. Why do you care so much what other people enjoy lol.

>u.s and EU not merged servers

Dropped.

...

exactly. it was always going to be instanced. They're never going to get the 60 people instances they promised at the beginning, but it was pretty obvious back then CR was talking out of his ass.

I think it's kinda interesting how they're going to try and maintain your server instance across servers. Or did I read that wrong? It'd be utterly stupid if you QT to Yela, then back to the station and it's an entirely new group of people.
