Very excited, I love racing games (usually futuristic racers, F-Zero being my number one) and am a huge Sonic fag, not so familiar with SEGA's other IPs aside from Super Monkey Ball and Puyo Puyo so I wasn't compelled to pick up the SEGA All-Stars games. A Sonic-only racer would be a day 1 for me.

very excited for a new game if its anything like the last one, which was a blast. I am however, very disappointed that they decided to drop the other sega IPs if true. Even mario kart 8 had SOME guest characters. These games are the only thing keeping Jet set radio, crazy taxi, and space channel 5 alive. I think its a bad move not to include at least 5 other sega characters. Ditching all of them makes the roster so samey, all anthro furry sonic friends would be bland, plus they'll piss off fans and let their IPs fall further into obscurity needlessly.

I don't think those are much to ask and they'd pad out the roster nicely. If its gonna be all Sonic they better make some cool choices like bring in Mighty, Chaos, Gamma, or Fang. Safe and bland choices with nothing but the same one-dimensional characters we're all tired of seeing would really kill hype for this. Sonic levels make for good tracks so I'm less worried on that front.

I know people are bummed about losing the sega roster and only sticking to Sonic, but the potential of only using the Sonic property and having a chance of another Sonic R also sounds appealing.

It's definitely not amazing, in fact it's too flawed, but the potential to actually make it much better and flesh it out is there. A sonic foot racer has only been attempted once and it's a shame it hasn't been tried again.
