Fully immersive VR has been invented and every video game franchise that has ever existed now has a perfect VR MMO version of it where you can do anything imaginable within that game world. You can upload your mind into one of these games and live in it forever or at least until you choose to die for real. Which game franchise do you choose to upload yourself into?

Guild Wars. Has three regions with all sorts of different cultures and pretty and interesting environments. Level means little to nothing and skill, accomplishments, reputation and personality are everything. Lots of pretty female models and costumes. Males look alright and have kiockass armor. Alcohol is a thing there, though I'd rather find a weed analog.

Also the community at its peak was top tier with great people.

It's not just the plot of SOMA, it's how it works, unless we somehow create some retarded ass 80s saturday-morning cartoon tech that can transfer real objects into digital world. You can overcome this with shit like Moravec transfer, where your brain is slowly being replaced by nanobots that emulate the parts they've replaced (this way you should not lose your consciousness, but will be able to actually digitize it), but these techs are in a realm of science fiction anyway at this point.
