Overhaul the entire UI including all menus and replay/ghost/custom machine system to 21st century standards. Add "test craft" in the custom machine garage. Rebalance ships Unleashed-style. Release a series of machine amiibos. Don't touch the physics in any way. Make custom machines with unique names show up in GPs.

Thoughts on the anime?
Parts of it were okay, but I found the reason why Octoman was evil just because he looked evil so they made him evil rather shallow. I also didn't like they made Captain Falcon a title which kinda devalues Captain Falcon as a character. Finally, I think the story would have done better if it focused on Falcon and him doing bounty hunting on the side which tie into the big races.

Whether that was genuine or not. I will say that it is one of the aspects of F-Zero that a lot of people look over is the characters that breath life into the game and give the vehicles dimension because they reflect the drivers.

It has grossly oversized tracks, set top speeds that are reached on every vaguely straight bit of road, very simplistic and forgiving handling and zero stakes. 200cc just introduces such an alien concept to most kids as brakes, who would've thought that would be the latest innovation in racing.
