My laptop has a dual core 1.3Ghz CPU and lags when playing Deus Ex at 720p. Recommend me good early-to-mid XP era games and/or ways to kill myself
My laptop has a dual core 1.3Ghz CPU and lags when playing Deus Ex at 720p...
pick up the laptop, close the lid and beat yourself repeatedly in the head with it until you lose conciousness.
Nigga, my shit can't even run Morrowind in 800x600 at a playable rate
>1.3Ghz CPU and lags when playing Deus Ex at 720p
How is that possible
It's so light I'd be impressed if it could KO a small animal
you don't know until you try!
Emulate snes and gba games.
I have no bloody clue. It's a borrowed laptop, sorta. my little shit of a brother used it before AND FOR SOME OH SO MYSTERIOUS REASON quit using it after a while. I already tried multiple version of windows but never really got anywhere close to an acceptable performance. Only really ran fine under Puppy Linux, but wine compatibility is SHIT for puppy
valid point
Can you replace your cpu? You could find a processor for around $40 and you’ll almost double your power
These minimum settings screenshots are interesting desu.
I think your problem is the GPU, not the CPU.
Get speccy, post specs.
>$40
>$
let me tell you about third world countries sonny
I have a handful saved on my tablet. If this thing could run linux properly I'd have trashed the laptop already. here's D44M running on another system I had
let me boot it up, give me a minute
just play undertale you fucking faggot
...
Those artifacts, good lord.
Thought about emulation, OP? Everything up to PS1/GC should work alright.
I already emulate well enough on my handhelds, including a PSP for PS1 on the go
maybe its time to get a better pc you mongoloid
Runescape 07
You in for the golden age of platform games and early RTS
Is it an APU?
There's probably lots of stuff on GoG you could probably run. I got a lot of playtime out of Thief, Serious Sam, Painkiller, FTL, Spelunky, and Cave Story back when I was stuck on an oldass first gen macbook. Also emulation.
>lags when playing Deus Ex at 720p
Jusy buy a console at this point, anything is better than this
??? recycled garbage from 10 yrs ago have at least i5 2.2 ghz
shitty dells that even yo granmomma wouldnt use
I was playing Stronghold on my laptop in 2002. I guess you can try it as well. Also HoMM3 and Warcraft 3.
>I'll just assume shit I don't know hurr durr
I do have a custom built PC back home, but I needed a machine to travel abroad for work. little brother offered me a laptop he wasn't using so I just accepted it
My nigga I already have AoE and RCT2, but the more the merrier
CPU: AMD E-300
Zacate 40nm Technology (???)
RAM: 4Gb DDR3 @ 538Mhz
GPU: 1908Mb ATI AMD Radeon HD 6310 Graphics
>AMD
Doom. All you need is Doom
I install Doom on everything.
way ahead of you. also here's a proper, non-retarded speccy screenshot
>I already have AoE and RCT2, but the more the merrier
C&Q, especially Red Alert, early Warcraft, Rise of nations, Theme hospital, Zoo Tycoon, HoMM 3, maybe try running Diablo 1
On the platformer side, Earthworm Jim, Jazz jackrabbit.
If you're looking for fun shit look up for Liero or little fighter 2
Son, those games are all my childhood, put in Quake and you'll become the 12 years old me
high resolution with this machine is indeed not something you can afford to do.
Try using lower resolutions combined with cheap AA like MSAA or FXAA.
Original Alien vs Predator.
Oblivion(may or may not need oldblivion to run better)
Thief
Wizardry 8
Medal Of Honor Allied Assault
Call of Duty 1
Stronghold
Dat's some hot & spicy graffix
Jesus fucking Christ. if you can't afford decent hardware to run games, why are you even trying to play PC games in the first place? either make more money or get a cheaper hobby. or learn how to pirate games. or just buy an old gen console idk. basically stop being a poor fag or stop being a retard. preferably both.
unless you're some third worlder in which case fuck off
No CPU temps?
Your CPU could be overheating.
On a serious note, X-COM: UFO Defense. There are a ton of mods for it, just spend some time learning how to install them.
Master of Magic is a good one and so is Master of Orion 1 + 2. But that's back to the DOS days. DOS days were better than the XP days, in my opinion, though.
That hardware is enough to play most of the good PC games.
...
Jesus so this is the small man syndrome I keep hearing about
It might be. I just tried running Thief Gold and while the game is butter smooth framerate-wise there are some odd stutters that happen every half a second, so there's definitely some faulty hardware here. I tried asking Sup Forums for help but they just memed me to death, as usual
Your gpu is very hot user. Have you tried cleaning your laptop?
just got myself some tools. I'll let you know if I die in the process
Godspeed my friend. Hopefully you can get it down to 50c under load. That'll help.
>don't have a couple hundred dollars to scrape together for a super budget computer
>torture yourself trying to limp through 20 year old games instead of working for like 50 hours
ill never understand
working on a third world shithole right now user. a "couple hundred dollars" translates to roughly 650 bucks where I am. That's more money than I'm willing to spend on a temporary laptop I'll just use for 2 months
What an idiot.
Just for shits and giggles, here's FFXV running at the lowest possible resolution, 32x32. The window is 16:9 because it's the only way the benchmark score can show up.
