Been wanting to get this baby going again, so let's have a 3DS thread. What are you playing? What are your favorite games? Got any good RPG recommendations?
Been wanting to get this baby going again, so let's have a 3DS thread. What are you playing...
Just ended the Mario&Luigi remake and it was bad, pretty graphics but the balance was destroyed, also they took out some funny animations.
I suppose you already played the fuckton of SMT games on the system so I dont have much to recomend, you could check out Stella Grow
Actually, the only games in the entire SMT universe I've played are Persona 4 and 5. Haven't heard of Stella Glow, what's it all about?
just playing some pokemon um, im kind of impressed at how much effort GF put into making sure you never ever leave your intended path
You should play the Devil Survivor and Soul Hacker games
Any specific recommendations? What about SMT4?
do the New 3ds/2ds systems improve mgs 3 framerate or controls?
Don't know about the framerate, but the second "stick" definitely improves the controls. It's a lot worse than the Vita version, though. Get that one instead if you've got a Vita.
Pokemon Ultra Sun
Devil Survivor 2 Record Breaker
Etrian Odyssey games
I've got either Sun or Moon, can't remember which. Is Ultra that big of an upgrade? Bought Etrian Odyssey V and have been slowly working through it.
I'm playing through EOV right now. Good game, but I still haven't touched Stratum 3 because I'm autistic about my class promotion names.
Playing through radiant historia on 3ds. I played the original up to aht, time to actually finish this game.
Couldn't bring myself to finish Pokemon moon
Got like a quarter through Stella glow and got sick of it
Played Pokemon picross like there's no tomorrow
Had more fun with the legend of legacy than anything else on the system though
I have the fates special edition but fuck fe gameplay, I can't get into it. Ffta2 was my favorite handheld tactics game
Where can I buy a cheap New2ds?
Well I'm still playing it, but I enjoy it. I'm not going to try and recommend it if you already played SM (since no, it's not that big of one), although I liked those as well.
Im capped out on MHW but never played 4U or Gen. Is it worth stomaching the bad controls and bad graphics?
im playing SMT iv right now as a new player to the series and i like it, honestly the first area of the game is the hardest then it gets super easy as soon as you get to the city and get to roam around freely. im like 25 hours in and im really liking it.
Oh hey I also love Legend of Legacy.
Can't wait for The Alliance Alive now.
If you're gonna play SMT on the DS get Strange Journey. The original or remake are fine, I prefer the original because of Kaneko's portraits, but the remake has a bit more content, so it's really up to you.
What are some good original jrpg on the 3DS that aren't ports, remakes or sequels?
4U is my personal favorite. It's hard toward the end, and the challenge ramps up nicely. It's got an insane amount of content, much more than World (though World is new and will be adding more). I use a grip for my New 3DS so the controls are normal and I don't mind them. Graphics I couldn't care less about, but they're obviously terrible compared to World. I think 4U is absolutely worth it. Generations on the other hand is lacking some content too, and the hunting styles make it very unbalanced, but it's kind of a "greatest hits" side entry and is still fun. I'd buy 4U, personally.
dragon ball fusions
monhun stories
radian historia
FE echoes shadows of valentia
Bravely Default.
Isn't that a sequel/follow up of 4 Heroes of Light on the DS?
I don't know think so. Is it..?
Eh, it's more of a spiritual successor. The story/worldbuilding and characters aren't related to 4 Heroes of Ligh in any way.
How's Ever Oasis? Looking for an Action RPG, but it looks more slow paced
I guess it's time to pull out my 3ds and play FE Echoes again.
Play the demo. It's literally the entire gameplay loop. If you can imagine doing that over and over being fun, buy it. I'm personally holding out for a sale
Play DeSu
I'm currently playing Terraria. Very fun game, bit pricey considering I already have it :/
It's alright but there is a whole lot of items to keep track of, most times when I went to restock my shops I always found myself lacking in something. The combat is pretty simple but enjoyable, and dungeon crawling is alright but certain skills are tied to certain characters. If you want or need to swap party members mid dungeon you have to teleport back to town, swap members then teleport back in, which was kind of tedious and annoying to do.
Whoopsies meant to tag
>What are you playing?
Finished 100% completion in EOV, now playing through Radiant Historia. It's starting to pick up, but I miss Aht.
>What are your favorite games?
Soul Hackers
Devil Survivor 1+2
All Etrian Odysseys, especially Etrian Odyssey II Untold
Rune Factory 4
Mighty Switch Force
DQ VII
Legend of Legacy
>Got any good RPG recommendations?
Obligatory pic-related for reference. Highest recommendations for Devil Survivor and EO2U classic.
>most of them all jap games
Playing Gunvolt series & Mighty Gunvolt Burst
I'd recommend the Devil Survivor games for SRPGs
I got the 2DSXL and a flashcard last summer, and I've basically just been playing DS games I missed or replaying old favorites.
After I finish with TWEWY I'll probably start in on Tales of Innocence. I'd like to start Radiant Historia, EO, or Devil Survivor but I always hold off because I assume the 3DS version is better and I'll probably hack eventually.
Any original DS recommendations?
Bowser's Inside Story
Megaman Zero Collection
Castlevania Portrait of Ruin and Order of Ecclesia
The Ace Attorney games
Ghost Trick
post FC's and add

Anyone have some local multiplayer recommendations? Preferably coop.
Dragon Quest IV-VI and IX, Chrono Trigger port, Pokémon HeartGold/SoulSilver/Platinum, the three Castlevania games.
...
999
Elite Beat Agents
Strange Journey, unless you want to wait for the remake in May
All Dragon Quests
Rhythmn Heaven
Hotel Dusk: Room 215
Infinite Space
Am I forever stuck with English dubs on these great games? I don't want to sit through horribly dubbed cute anime girls FUCK
Thanks yall, definitely a couple of ones here I forgot about, including Hotel Dusk and Infinite Space.
I remember reading threads on this when it came out but I didn't have a DS at the time, is it still fun to solo?
Im getting a new2dsxl in a few days. What flash card does Sup Forums recommend?
>R4I Gold 3ds Plus is $20 but requires a little bit of setup.
>Sky3ds is simple but I think only plays 3ds games.
>Stargate 3ds card looks the simplest and seems to have the most features but both that and Sky3ds are like $90.
Decisions decisions.
For me I had alot of fun with it. Enough to replay it a couple times under different classes. Shame that there wasn't a 3DS sequel to it.
Anyone gonna try Detective Pikachu when it comes out?
I probably will, just out of curiosity.
Alright, I'll check it out once I get sick of MH4U.
Speaking of which, I played a bit of Blood of Bahamut recently which is kind of a bizarre hunting-genre game later on for DS in which you tap the screen a million times trying to hit the enemy's weak points. Almost sank its fangs into me until I decided there were more gratifying games to grind in.
Yes, it looks pretty interesting for a spinoff.
Are there any notable games coming out soon? All I know is the Alliance Alive, Detective Pikachu & maybe that one Sushi game
Those, Strange Journey Redux, the next EO, and maybe DQ XI out of curiosity for the time travel mechanic. Out of all of them, excluding EO, I'm probably most excited for Alliance Alive. I enjoyed Legend of Legacy, and Japanese reception claims this is a huge improvement on all fronts. Plus, the Suikoden writer is doing the scenario, which sounds cool.
