What bugged me the most is that's also true for the optional super boss because he takes up every spot on the grid.
I don't now who you're quoting but they are mistaken. You should be using the battle system to its fullest in every battle.
and travel to the inn every few battles or just avoid most enemies?
Not sure what would be the least fun
Are you saying you fight random filler enemies? And you find that fun?
If you go through the game without fighting randoms you get to enjoy the gameplay in the many mandatory fights, while the randoms you could face are of lesser quality and fighting them also detracts from your experience by making the mandatory fights easier.
>not grinding to make yourself ridiculously overpowered for every fight that matters
I don't know who you're quoting but I don't think they enjoy video games
In games with good combat I do find fighting filler enemies fun but I guess you're not supposed to do so in this one.
Use the inns, remember set points in the timeline where you can rest for free, if you are desperate use a mana crystal. It's not hard. Using the combo system to its full potential gives you much more experience, money and rewards.
I wish there was more money loot so I could buy more MP healing items
I still at least moved enemies around first, even just to use normal attacks on them. Those moves don't cost a lot.
i fucking hate those blue mushrooms
>spend 5 minutes killing them after i murder that fat panda
...
I got memed into thinking this was good and pirated it. Immediately bombarded with cringe worthy weebshit Jpop opening and equally autistic writing. Had to force myself to play for 20 mins.
oh god what did they do to the art?
Yeah the vast majority of traditional Jrpgs are total dogshit, never fall for the memers who claim they are playable. They are made for people who watch seasonal anime and are still in highschool
improved it. The game took itself too seriously before, now it is at least self-aware.
Is there a new ending-ending? (not just random bad ending)
So what quality games do you enjoy, friend?
ATLUS DESIGN TEAM actually the order of ecclesia artist
I have never played a video game
epic post
There's a new ending after Nemesia's quests are completed. One for just doing the core quests, a more complete one if you do all of them.
It's kind of shitty in my opinion, but most of Atlus' remake plots are. There's a few more quests in the main chronicle to get the original true ending as well.
Did they nerf Aht? I remember her being OP as shit.
they could have at least redone raynie's sprite so she looked less like a hunchback goblin
no
It's true. stay away from memes like this and trials of cold steel. abysmal games. There are no hidden gem traditional JRPGs in modern times.
>OP specifically says you have to not use skills in most fights or you run out of MP
>OP YOU'RE WRONG YOU ONLY RUN OUT OF MP IF YOU FIGHT ENEMIES THAT AREN'T MANDATORY
>Using the combo system to its full potential gives you much more experience, money and rewards.
Even if you get a 23 combo, which is the most I've managed so far, it only gives you about an extra 22% in experience. Most enemies so far give fuck all money to begin with and you get 90% of your money from story events and bosses, while item drops have all been completely worthless.
Updated it for modern audiences, enjoy motherfucker.
> the order of ecclesia artist
But it looks nothing like OoE.
>Most enemies so far give fuck all money to begin with
Yeah this is because they reduced the amount of money enemies dropped. Don't ask me why, I guess they thought it was too easy.
would you guys recommend this game to someone who played maybe 2 FF games and didn't really love them? heard good things about its protagonist, combat and story.
Gotta milk that DLC, although in the end none of the best equipment is gold-bought
When does Marco get killed off? He sucks dick, both as a party member and as a character.
I'm currently 6 and a half hours in and at this point I would say no. At this point I'm only continuing to sit through it because of the hype because the story is incredibly dull and the characters are just as bad. Atlus' attempts at spicing up the localised script make it obnoxiously flowery too.
>But it looks nothing like OoE.
Too bad, Masaki Hirooka's been credited for the art to both games.
>nu/v/ hates Radiant Historia.
That would make him responsible for the old art then, not the new art.
And it'd mean his art got a whole lot shittier between Ecclesia and RH.
Stay in your thread nintentoddlers
It is Hirooka actually. He also did Suikoden Tierkreis.
I think he was imitating Kojima's style (to a degree) when he worked on OoE, which is why it's so different.
this
the problem is you seem to not have much MP overall in the game and being able to use enemy moving skills wastes turns and such.
the only counter to it is switching turns and such to give yourself like 8 turns to set shit up to kill as many guys or deal as much damage in one go.
Never.
i know
i paid the 2.99 to fucking change it back
I liked the new art with the exception of Stocke's full body portrait, he looks like such a dumbass in that one. Emotive face shots were nice.
The old artist is Hiroshi Konishi. He worked on Radiata Stories too but I don't know which designs he did. The cool-looking strong blacks in RH aren't his usual style.
i was gonna say, it had that look
just no one named jack russel, sadly...
Take out the mushrooms first. Aht's bombs pretty much take care of the fat panda in a few turns, mana burst help a lot too.
I really hate the white jelly things, the blue mushrooms and the green thorn. The Jelly things can poison you so you lose 80hp each turn, the blue mushrooms can heal and summon other mushrooms and the thorn can summon some other bigger thorn monster, and they're all encountered in one battle, really fucking annoying.
Please tell me about how much you love this goat.
Nemesia is A+!
Her voice is pretty obnoxious. I'd rather have Liese or whatever the blonde goat's name is.
I'm a couple hours in, just met aht and need to progress the other timeline in the mine.
So far the game has been incredibly dull, the plot isn't very interesting and combat is ok but every fight boils down to stack>power wave>spell. Does it magically get better ? Why is this so hyped up ?
>playing the english dub
>Marco sucks dick as a party member
>Has magic boost and guard boost early game
Excuse me nigga?
this game has some of the worst sprite work i've ever fucking seen. Shit 15 years ago looked better. And the fights are shit, too. The battle system is supposed to shine on longer/harder fights, but every single time the enemy can't be moved. It's fucking retarded.
user please, I'm not a barbarian. Of course I'm using the undub.
In three hours' time you will get the ability to delete enemy turns after filling up a gauge that goes up like 1 point out of 20 for every 15 combo you get. That's the only change between where you're at and where I'm at.
Were they gay?
The sprites are whatever, what annoys me more is the pixel warping going on in the 3DS version. They're stretching the fucking sprites to fit the wider resolution.
On top of that the sound effects are fucking abysmal, they're of such poor audio quality that lots of sound effects have audible static accompanying them, or there's just shit like Stocke's bizarre footsteps sounds that I don't even know how to describe. Really, they couldn't even be bothered improving the audio quality for this remake?
dub stocke isn't bad...
I still loved that artstyle and wished he was in Bloodstained then some literal who
>it's a giant unmovable spider boss episode
>the episode he rerun multiple times
I switched to normal because that piece of shit kept wiping my party in two hits
>Dub anyone
>Not bad
Pick one.
The amount of recycled content is abysmal too. It was bad when the original released.
But anyone correct me if I'm wrong, did they add diagonal animations for Stocke? I don't remember being able to turn in 8 directions when moving around. The angle is a bit precise, so maybe I just never saw it because of the DS's d-pad.
>teleports behind you
When does it actually get good?
Only weebs always hate dubs for no other reason then "it's bad". What's so bad about it?
Rosch's entire story line.
>weeaboo
>fag
Pick two
>On assassininting princess misson
>Shit's getting cool and interesting
>Have to go back to other history to learn espionage
Now I'm at some Valkyrie thing and to support Rosch
Incredibly nasal accent on the chronicle boy, Stocke just sounds bored and mumbles instead of being reserved, Heiss' voice is incredibly wooden and has no hints whatsoever of his obviously devious nature, Raynie is generic dub girl #1234 (likely Michelle Ruff) while Marco is generic dub boy #5678 and does an incredibly shit job of reading out the stutters in the script, Rosch just sounds like a nerdy jackass pulled from the office instead of a big manly dude. Dias is the only one I don't have any particular complaints about from the opening section.
>>Have to go back to other history to learn espionage
What the fuck did Stocke even spend his time in the SI doing?
Alright, you convinced me. I'll try the JP dub instead.
glad I downloaded the undub
That's understanding of you. Mind you, while I'd obviously say the Japanese is better, it's still not anything special. Even 7 hours in I'm still debating just turning voices off entirely.
Pretty sure Stocke has the same dub va as Joker from P5 and the Smash 4 Announcer from what I've played. Dunno about the rest.
That right there is a good enough reason to avoid the dub like the plague
Jeez, am I the only one who is fine with the changes and actually enjoyed the remake more than the original?
I've been fighting a decent amount of regular enemies and I only occasionally find myself short on MPs. I'd agree that it's a flaw, but it's not that big of a deal.
What IS pretty annoying is how fucking expensive every piece of equipment is compared to how much money you get. I almost entirely skipped an entire tier of armor because I could maybe afford a single piece of it, and now everything is even more expensive.
I forgot to add in that post at the end "so it's basically just your standard mediocre Atlus dub". Thanks for covering me.
The only change anyone's been complaining about is the art.
It doesn't help that any time you throw down your life savings on a piece of equipment you then come across better equipment in a chest five minutes later.
how does having shitty art make it self aware?
I feel like I'm the only one that prefers the remake's artstyle. Old one was a bit too bug eyed. Sue me.
Can someone sum up all the paid DLC, preorder-locked content, etc for this game? Also are there voice language options?
I don't remember him. Who's he again?
Heiss isn't quite as obviously villainous, either. He can actually look like a good guy sometimes.
No language options, undub is out if you're on CFW. No preorder content. DLC is money/exp/stat grinding, three 5 minute quests with some CGs and shit item rewards, a short boss rush(doesn't have all the bosses) with a late game armor for Stocke, and a springs fanservice with a CG for each character. Basically it's all crap and you should pirate it or not bother since you're not missing out on much.
>who is Rosche
Your best friend and the main protag of the alternate history.
>get into a passionate fist fight with your bro to save his life
>start apologizing awkwardly to each other back and forth afterwards
>the loli thinks you're both gay
Cute
