>The Witcher 3 announced >crowning achievement in the RPG genre, huge open world, 100hrs of content >comes out late, it's twice that
>Cyberpunk 2077 >announced more than 2 years before production even begins >said to be several times bigger than W3 >no word yet, almost 3 years after full production allegedly began
>Gwent >Smaller-scale project, online multiplayer game with a single-player component planned >announce first single player campaign >should be 10-20 hours, self-contained storyline, map movement and a couple of dozen new cards >push it back indefinitely and cite increased scale of project as reason
I like their games but can't help but feel their ambition will end up being their downfall. The only time they went through with their plans was when they released W2 - and they were facing bankruptcy at the time, so they had little choice (and that whole thing happened because they were planning on developing two sequels at once, same problem). Why can't these fuckers follow the realistic goals they set?
I know this is a shill thread, but OP calm down Cyberpunk is coming and will be good.
Jace Young
It’s cute that shitcher 3 fags still exist
Hunter Hernandez
Your existence isn't cute
Leo Wright
Was in pre production when announced you dumb cunt
Jackson Bailey
I'm actually playing through 2 right now, and it's great. It's not a shill thread. My boy Marky's games sell themselves. But you can help by buying mine.
John Williams
It's called "self funding", OP
Nathaniel Morales
That's why I said full production, fagboy bitchan. Artwork and storyboards have probably been underway for more than half a decade.
Jordan Harris
Will cyberpunk be an actual rpg or will it be a fake rpg like witcher 3 was
Jason Roberts
We have no reason to suspect it will be any more of an RPG than W2 or W3. Here's hoping Pondsmith goes old-school CRPG on their asses but I doubt it.
Nathaniel Myers
Name my hip-hop duo.

The Witcher 3 setback was no problem because at the end it was crowned with one of the best RPG in this decade. Same will go for cyberpunk 2077. I dont care if people bitch about >REEEE WHY ISNT IT RELEASED YET when they need more time to code this ( hopefully ) masterpiece.
James Walker
I'm mostly bitching about why they aren't pursuing smaller projects as well, like they were reported to during the years leading up to W3's release. What happened to those "AA" games, anyway? Were those the DLCs?
Joseph Ward
One company doesn't take to shitting out market-tested, safe, barebones realeases every year and you still fucking complain. There is more to life than videogames, it'll be done eventually. Chill the fuck out.
Cameron Johnson
it will have a pen and paper RPG system , this was already confirmed a million times
Nathan Jones
>went through with their plans was when they released W2 but TW2 was heavily chopped down half of the last act was added as free DLC and they planned an additional act in Dol Blathanna
>happened because they were planning on developing two sequels at once it happened because TW's console port that they spent more money on than the game itself turned out to be garbage curse the frogs, it's because of them that i don't get to play the TW expansion by Ossian Studio
Robert Rodriguez
CDPR games become a masterpiece roughly 9 months after release
Jason Richardson
cyberpunk gets announced at e3 and released at the end of 2018, whats your point?
Aaron Campbell
Holy fuck Gwent really is a trainwreck of epic proportions. They should stop fucking listening to Reddit for ideas.
Jordan Garcia

Grayson Martin
W2 had some good stuff in there, but overall it was just mediocre.
Also it's a fucking disgrace we've never heard what happened to Saskia in W3...
Kayden Hill
We deserve the two premium modules announced for W1. We deserve the W1.5 CDPR planned to make in W1's engine. Frog fucking shits.
Adam Fisher
Meh, I'm glad they moved on. I just hope they get their shit together and we get to see another game in Witcher world in the next 5 years...
Juan Torres
>We deserve the W1.5 CDPR first i'm hearing of that, do you have a source?
Julian Cruz
the production of gwent gives me 0 faith in cdpr for anything they do in the future

eurogamer.net/articles/2013-11-06-seeing-red-the-story-of-cd-projekt >After the Enhanced Edition of Witcher 1 (offered as a free patch for existing owners, as with The Witcher 2), work started on two projects at once: The Witcher 2 and The Witcher 3. >The Witcher 3 was a background project to build an engine that would work with consoles, because BioWare's Aurora engine didn't, and consoles were a place CD Projekt Red always wanted to be. The plan was to move onto it after The Witcher 2.
>The Witcher 2 would be built on Aurora again for PC, but it only got as far as a tech demo which, in those early days, Adam Badowski thinks "looked amazing". Brilliantly, this leaked, and can be watched in this article (below). "We had a lot of leaks!" Badowski laughs.
>The Witcher 2 on Aurora only got that far because at that point along came the big bad Witcher: White Wolf, which huffed and puffed and blew those plans down.
I think OP meant console port (rise of the white wolf).
Cooper Perry
I don't like card games so don't follow it, what's the problem?
Connor Sullivan
i agree op. they might have bit off more than they can chew. i wish for cyberpunk to surpass the success of witcher 3 but im kind of thinking it will be a bit of a flop
Camden Jenkins
Didn't need to, I killed her.
Jordan Torres
oh, i thought you're referring to some kind of TW1 remake, this is the early prototype for TW2 if anything, i think the final version of TW2 is much better
Noah Smith
I actually agree but it's just insane to what lengths they pushed the NWN1 engine. This thing looks as good as TW2 in some respects and I don't see any dithering.

Took you long enough, antiCDPR-kun. Almost 13k people are playing it right now on Steam alone. That's almost as many people as your mom has fucked.
I was in Roche's story and didn't know Saskia was a Dragon, so when the dragon got impaled, I put it out of its misery, and didn't know it could heal itself.

The only person i see bitch and moan is you. You come in every thread with webms showing off bugs and glitches from a game that sold millions of units, won hindreds of awards and got criticly aclaimed by a huge part of the gaming community. And all the effort you and the other autists did on Sup Forums before the months with downgrade shitposting went out for nothing. So yeah post your 2 old webms from version 1.01 because in a few months you have a new target in your autistic range ( Cyberpunk 2077 is shown at E3 )

It's pretty amusing how Witcher gets a free pass for being a slightly prettier Skyrim, with all the glaring issues baring QA still present.

Let me tell you a story. First of all, CDPR scum claimed that they can "identify pirates with 100% accuracy", which is something not even the courts can do due to most of these "identifications" being based on simple IP checks.
Next, these scumbags hired a law firm to send out threat letters to people who were "identified" as pirates, however it turned out CDPR were full of shit and innocent people got those threat letters, including an old lady:
torrentfreak.com/drm-free-witcher-2-cashes-in-on-bittorrent-pirates-111207/ >Although this initially sounded quite reasonable, away from the spotlight the company followed in the footsteps of so-called copyright trolls, by signing up for a so-called “pay-up-or-else” scheme. CD Projekt hired a law firm and torrent monitoring company to track those who illegally downloaded and shared the game, and has been sending them hefty cash settlement proposals.
They tried to worm they way out of it by saying that they didn't send out those letters and, technically, they're right - the people they've hired to send out those threat letters did. This is like a murderer saying that he didn't actually murder anyone, he only hired a killer.
However, the punchline is that this isn't actually the first time CDPR were doing this, they were doing exactly the same thing with Witcher 1, nobody just complained loud enough about their scummbaggery: >What's more, CD Projekt has been caught using a similar "shakedown" tactic - a phrase coined recently by a US judge - before. >In 2008, many UK gamers received letters from Davenport Lyons demanding similar cash settlements for Atari game The Witcher 1.
>sold millions of units, won hindreds of awards and got criticly aclaimed by a huge part of the gaming community. None of those things make the game good, because if we apply the same potatodrone logic to Skyrim, it's the best RPG ever made. Your game is dogshit and the fact that it sold well (it didn't, not compared to other games in the genre that matter) does not make it good.
Carter Ramirez

W3 won more GOTY awards than any other game, including Skyrim. > Your game is dogshit and the fact that it sold well (it didn't, not compared to other games in the genre that matter) does not make it good I didn't make it, but besides Skyrim, what other game in the genre sold as many copies?
Jack Campbell
>debunked You getting anally blasted over how shitty your game plays does not "debunk" anything, drone. Again, you can bitch and moan all you like, but the .webms are there, they are factual while your dogshit opinion is not. Now continue to chimp out some and entertain me, drone.

>GOTY awards Awarded by literally who "gaming journalists" with zero credentials. They are irrelevant garbage just like your shit game. Skyrim, meanwhile, won the only award that matters - the "this game actually sold a shitton" award.

I like the company. It's a shame I hate the Witcher series so much. The main character is boring as fuck.

>posts the same shit over and over in different threads >says other people are butblasted Where did they touch you user?
Asher Parker
Skyrim's latest reported sales figure in late 2016 was 30 million. The Witcher 3's latest reported sales figure (March 2017) was 25. Doesn't seem like a huge difference. I didn't make the game and have never played it. Can you calm down?
Nathaniel King
>The Witcher 3's latest reported sales figure (March 2017) was 25. You are delusional. 25million for all platforms for the entire franchise, maybe, not for TW3 alone.
Brayden Thompson
>posts the same shit over and over in different threads It always gets drones like you mad, so why shouldn't I? These webms are a good illustration that even a broken turd like the Shitter 3 can get "awards" and sell "well". It proves that the argumentum ad populum is not actually an argument and that "critically acclaimed" and "well-selling" games do not necessarily have to be good.
Sebastian Sullivan
My bad, didn't read the article carefully.

I've worked with bailiffs and law firms and have been contacted by them myself. bailiffs fuck up all the time and its usually the fault of some retard in admin not understanding what it is they are supposed to be doing.
I'm inclined to believe them on the second part
Brandon Ramirez
I don´t care if they take their time as long as they actually deliver a quality game. Sure, long development ambitious games always have problems and end up not releasing, or releasing shit but CDPR has yet to dissapoint so there is hope.
As long as it´s some sort of cyberpunk third person game i´m still in.
Isaiah Green
its like saying i like National Socialism, but i dont like Hitler, lol

the funny thing is, if the game was made by the japs and it had oversized weapons and if the witcher had spiky hair, he would absolutely love the game and the combat

Got any source on that? I don't care about Gwent itself, but could go for some actual story.

hello there ignoramus. not to say that they should listen to reddit on everything, but actually it's a trainwreck because they do everything OPPOSITE of what the community says. >rows have no purpose now >coinflip still not fixed >mulligan bug (or """""feature"""" as cdpr dev Rethaz likes to call it) still in the game >cards with unique and complex mechanics changed into simple, almost vanilla-tier uninteresting garbage >UI and board still ugly the only time they listened to reddit was when they reverted the changes to card names, which was retarded in the first place
Isaac Ward
see: the game was going in a good direction, up until the midwinter patch in december which set them back fucking lightyears, and they are still scrambling to get back on track. basically they dropped an untested, buggy patch with retarded changes RIGHT before christmas (instead a week sooner or so, as was originally planned), which meant they'd only be able to hotfix it in january at the soonest
Wyatt Jones
In huge RPGs I do feel like the scale takes away somewhat, I start ignoring side quests and the if the main quest is affected by them it must take so much effort just to keep things believable. Smaller games, which would also vary up the gameplay more, would be more my thing but at the same time, huge open world games sell.
Ethan Bailey
Problem with why companies don't pursue smaller projects on the side is manpower which is finite and they always want it allocated to their flagship titles. I'm amazed standalone Gwent even happened, to be honest.
>What happened to those "AA" games, anyway?
No idea. I assume Gwent is one of them or at least the delayed story DLC it's getting. AAs were almost killed during the last generation of consoles and it'll probably take a while for "not AAA, but not no-budget indie either" category to make a proper comeback.
Adrian White
