I played on Safe mode cause I wasn't enjoying the gameplay. I felt like the death penalty was too punishing (reverting back to your old save). You go through all of that forced tedious grinding until you get close to the next safe room and then you die from an ambush or getting unlucky, all of that progress just goes up in smoke. Just felt like the game was trying its best to waste my time.

This is actually the first time I can recall ever switching to the easiest setting in a game.
