I just got this game, What should I know?
I just got this game, What should I know?
The mechs all look like they dove head first into a landfill and called whatever stuck to them 'armor.' Also shitty rock paper scissors gunplay.
Not op but,
Can I have fun with V &/or VD single player? It always seemed like it was marketed as an online game to me and I've never even looked in to the single player content at all.
Plus I'm assuming online is dead, even if it's not I don't really want to play with the people who've spent thousands of hours on it at this point.
It's a game with a heavy focus on multiplayer that's no longer fully playable. Good buy, user.
No. It's only multiplayer and the servers shutdown a year after release. 6 months after verdict day too
>only armored core with a storyline with actual characters.
okay.
I recall hearing that Verdict Day was a better single player game, but
I would say no on V, simply because so much of the content is unlocked via multiplayer.
For Answer is the only good nu-AC game
All parts and weapons are unlocked via completing the story missions, or you could buy the $2 dlc that just gives them to you.
Verdict day is a multiplayer expansion to V that the servers shutdown and most of the new stuff was unlocked via multiplayer.
I never played 4, why would i get the expansion? Wouldn't that put me at a disadvantage?
>constantly switching between scan mode and combat mode
Why did FROM think this was okay?
Get a better generator faggot.
But no seriously I agree. I think they wanted to try something new and it didn't really work
it was too much of a hassle to find all the parts needed to build a good mech. once you did the amount of viable builds was very limited. id love a new armored core but it would have to make the farming much less pronounced and/or make all types of builds work and/or make less parts and ever part should be good.
Everything wrong in V is even worse in 4 answer. And that one is also mostly multiplayer with no servers.
FA is better than 4
which one is better 4,for answer, v or veredict day?
You didn't answer the question at all. Since it's made for you to import your save and such and probably skips the tutorial or what have you, doesn't that put me at a disadvantage? Sell me on 4 answer.
4A > 4 > VD > V
probably verdict day, 4 is the worst of those.
so VD>4A>V>shit>4
Or at least was. V is missing all the cool multiplayer stuff now.
Thanks, all of them are like 5 Euros in Game now.
Don't try making an AC that can do every mission with enough skill. It is almost impossible to do so.
All importing your save does is unlock the parts you had in 4 and carry over your next. Those parts quickly get overpowered by the newer parts in 4a, that's why there isn't much point. People tend not to recommend 4 because the story, level design and next fights were pretty lackluster.
it doesn't put you in disadvantage since FA has all mech parts from 4 and new ones
That seems pretty obvious with the type resistances and ammo types. Looks like i'll probably need to make two different ones that can handle different situations, but that's how i handled 2 back in 2002.
Which was the last armored core game I played.
alright,so i'd be most likely lost in the story though right?
And does the lever design get better in 4A? I heard it was really bad in both of those.
Oh and wasn't that one a mostly multiplayer game just like V and verdict day kinda are? not that it matters that much since I bought 5 anyways.
Is Armored Core: Nine Breaker any good?
...
It's ok but barren compared to literally every other AC game.
It's just arena fights and training missions i'm told. If you can get it for super cheap and have already played 3 or silent line then it's fine.
The level design in ea is much better, and it introduces mile tall arms forts which are a fucking blast to systematically tear apart. And the story really isn't a hindrance, there's only one real reference to 4 on 4a. I think they deliberately tried to separate them since people weren't too keen on 4.
>Last armored core game was 2
>then buys V which is shit
You skipped the best ones on ps2, Silent line and Nexus!
Go out and buy them now.
I've been meaning to go back to VD. I never finished it. I think I'm gonna go dig up my copy now
EVERGRRRRRRRREEEEEEEEEEEEN
I don't suppose anyone has the boxart or coverart of the ps3 version of this game? Mine came with a case but no cover. I'd like to print one myself
You could just go on amazon and find a pic.
It doesn't have it
And by that i mean the entire cover, Not just the front part.
I fucking love that games customization.
It was shit, I hate that there are parts that are clearly inferior. Everything should be given at the start instead of needing to farm
Best thing the V games did was rebalance the weight classes. Light ac builds were still the best flankers but would die in seconds in the open, and mediums became the best supports. Instead of being useless slow punching bags heavies became the main damage dealers, so you had a much healthier meta overall, unlike the 4 games where everything was lights with hitscan rifles because of how fast the game was.
>Everything should be given at the start instead of needing to farm
You have no idea how stupid that is.
